We visited GamberoRosso again for the second time in three days because it was solid. My husband loved how we switched out the truffle risotto with spaghetti here. So we came again to satisfy his cravings. We ordered the Margherita pizza to share as our appetizer and only finished half but it was soooo good. Simple and delicious with fresh basil leaves garnish. Something unusual happened on this evening . There was a power outage for a while but I need to say... the staff handled it very smoothly , assuring diners that things will be ok soon. Be sure to make a reservation! It was packed, however we were fortunate to get a walk in table because a reservation did not show up. Bad manners for them, good luck for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our pizza and salad. I don't remember the name of the pizza but perhaps you can read from the receipt?? Salad was not on the menu however they gave us a salad with the most delicious honey mustard dressing we have ever had! We asked for tap water, knowing that Prague has the most delicious tap water, but they delivered (and charged us for) a bottle of water. Oh well. This was my second visit to this amazing establishment. I was so glad to be able to bring my better half here while visiting Prague. We both loved the quaint and charming feel of the small space. Pizzas are prepared in a brick oven that we could see from our seats. I ordered one of those pizzas and was nice enough to share two slices. The pizza is just perfection and you will not be disappointed. It was just as delicious as I remembered from a year ago when I was here. My better half really enjoyed his strozzapreti pasta with beef ragout, tomatoes, root vegetables, and parmesan cheese. We were so delightfully full from our meal that we skipped dessert. We took a chance by popping into Gambero Rosso without researching or reservations. It turned out to be a wonderful idea because this was outstanding. The place is small, vibrant, and buzzing with life. But, the key to a quality dining experience is centered around the food. Gambero Rosso makes pizza and they make it really well. We ordered the Margherita with bufala mozzarella. The style is inspired by the Napoli pizze but with a proportional adjustment. Gambero Rosso has some pillowy crust that bulges at the outer ring and quite frankly was some of the best crust I've ever eaten. The tomato sauce was sublime, and the cheese was perfect. We devoured the pizza in minutes, both commenting how this was better than we experience in America. I'm so glad I made a reservation online since it was a busy Friday night. Just have to show your COVID pass or card for your COVID shots. We started with the mixed salad & grilled focaccia bread. Came here around 9PM to get some food before hitting the town. I ordered the Parmesan risotto with dried tomatoes, chicken and rucola. My friend ordered a pizza. While we waited, they brought out a basket of bread for us to snack on. I read that there is a famous Czech drink called slivovice (pronounced SLEE-voh-veet-seh) which is a plum brandy so I had to try one before I leave Prague. The waiter brought out my drink in a miniature goblet which holds about 1 shot of alcohol. I took a sip and it hit me hard. That stuff is strong. The food did take a while to come out but once it did come out, it did not disappoint. My risotto was cooked perfectly. The presentation and taste was on point. The dried tomatoes added some zest to the dish while the rucola added color as well as freshness to the dish. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Went here today with my friends for brunch. Very nice atmosphere, well air conditioned ( a very rare and important thing in Prague). Beautiful and clean interior, especially the bathroom.
