The interior of this place is lovely. It's kind of like being seated in a classic old palace with…read morehigh ceilings, marble and classic palace like décor. The dinner seating arrangements are good, you couldn't ask for better service, the taste and flavor of the overall taste of the food is good, but nothing I would term exceptional. But two of the problems I have with Brasseriet, hence wouldn't be inclined to enthusiastically recommend it are that the serving portions are really skimpy, small in size, and the price for what you get is exceedingly high. My dining companion, Yelper Jim D., order the ravioli (I believe that is plural and what it said on the menu) but when it arrived it was "raviolo," singular, in that it was but one little less than average size raviolo. As there wasn't enough for me to even taste the little single raviolo, I didn't, but did get a taste of the sauce which was good but nothing outstanding. Me, being the more piggy type of eater, I went ahead and ordered a plate of baked oyster/seafood along with a fish dish. The price for each was rather high, the portions not amounting to much and nothing I can report as really being all that delicious, however, I can't say that it wasn't good. Though I'm very easily impressed with any food having a Swedish note or touch to it, I wasn't impressed with what I got at Brasseriet, particularly when the price is taken into consideration.

The broccoli was a giant chunk of stalk with two tiny florets. My wife's lamb was raw. All for SEK 2,100 (incl. Two glasses of mediocre wine). Waiter tried, but forgot half the stuff. Don't go. Just....don't go.

Dropped by here on our last day in Stockholm without reservation on a Sunday night at around…read more6:30pm. We chose this place since it was 1min walk from our hotel and were actually recommended to this place by our taxi driver. We (party of 2) were seated at the bar without any wait. Ambience/interior was amazing for our last night. We ordered the toast skagen (full size) + meatballs, both were delicious (though for lactose intolerant ppl beware, as my friend and I both felt extremeeely bloated throughout the entire night afterwards), probably one of our best meals in Stockholm. Prices were slightly on the higher side (esp for the toast skagen, which has 4 halves of toasts), but overall great for a lighter meal + vibes.

We thought the food was good but probably a half-step down from some of our other dinners on our trip. My wife's chicken was overcooked, my daughter's meatballs were fine but they lacked the depth of flavor of other variants we had, and I liked my asparagus vegetarian entree but it was mostly about the sauce. We ordered their supposedly famous almonds to start but those never came. The dessert was good, with a scoop of ice cream over a simple cookie and topped with a delicious caramel sauce. Nice place. Staff was good. Love the history- you can taste it in the food. Fun place. We'd go back.

Very bustling and crowded spot on weekends, make a reservation as I had to wait a while to get in. I asked for Fanta and got "Zingo" instead, it was pretty good. I ordered thier seafood "casserole" which is actually a soup with chunks of fish and mussels in a tasty broth, I enjoyed it although I felt the quantity wasn't enough. The server was very friendly, gave us bread and a craft of water rather promptly. Our only issue was getting our main course, it took almost more than a half hour, I did not want to spend more than an hour here, I had already finished my Zingo by the time the food was brought. I couldn't resist. Someone else paid my meal so can't comment on the price. But like anywhere else in Scandinavia beware when you order alcohol as it is very pricey. Once you get through the young hipster weekend crowd and sit down you'll have a pleasant experience, hopefully the food wait doesn't happen often.

As much as I spent most of this trip to Sweden complaining about how expensive everything was, their pork belly was just an amazing rendition of a ubiquitous dish that it seems like any self-respecting restaurant thinks they must offer. The execution of a particularly generous serving was stellar: an absolutely crispy skin overlying bite after juicy bite of pork beneath. The caramelized apples were also great, elevating a familiar pairing in a way that I just had not tasted before. I went back a second time in hopes of closing off my Swedish trip with the same dish, but unfortunately had the meatballs (this is how I found out it's not always on the menu). Nothing spectacular there - pretty standard as I've had elsewhere, but not bad. And certainly nothing like the pork belly.

You should know about the poor working conditions the cleaning staff face. My wife recently started…read moreworking there as a cleaner and experienced a situation that felt both unfair and unprofessional. Employees are expected to clean a certain number of rooms decided by management, and if they do not finish in time, they are apparently expected to continue working without pay just to complete the assigned workload. The work itself is physically demanding, and despite working hard, staff seem to receive criticism rather than support or constructive feedback. What made the situation even more upsetting was how communication was handled. My wife received absolutely no feedback or explanation from management. Instead, she eventually realized something was wrong because she had simply been removed from the group chat. That was apparently how she discovered she was no longer part of things. As far as we understand, this happened after she asked a single question: whether it was really acceptable, from a labor rights perspective, to require employees to work unpaid if they could not complete the number of rooms assigned by hotel management. She did not create conflict or repeatedly argue; she simply asked one reasonable question. Being excluded without explanation after raising such a concern feels deeply troubling and raises serious questions about how staff are treated.

There's an amazing food court perpendicular to the hotel, also facing on the Haymarket. We tried to add breakfast, but the credit card machine froze. The cost of adding breakfast was also off putting: $26.50 pp. On weekends, everything else in the neighborhood is shut down until at least 8 a.m. We never did get breakfast. The room (348) was rather hard to find as the signs were conflicting when not absolutely incorrect (see photos). Lots of other petty annoyances (the shower handles are directly reversed from all the other rooms in Scandic hotels we've stayed at, the lobby where you check in is next to a bar that gets very crowded at times, the check-in process was ssssllllooooowwwwww, the restrooms are downstairs and require a code (which they didn't tell me while they were directing me to them) The lights in the section of hallway nearest our room wewe flickering) Next time we'll try the Scandic down the street.
