The chic-intended restaurant within the Barcelo Hotel was not bad. Is that a good enough statement??? We had two dinners at that place (one a la carte, one with preset menu) and twice a superfantastic breakfast buffet (5 stars) with an overwhelming selection of birchermuesli, fresh fruits, salmon, warm items, delicious European bread (the one thing I desperately miss in the USA), and much more.
The first dinner time (3 stars), the meat was overcooked and less than tender, but all together - and taking the tasty appetizer set into consideration - not too bad.
The second time (4- stars), the meat was superbly tender and could not have been better. But the dessert that time (some unidentifiable bitter-tasting sorbet??) was simply put disgusting, and I did not see anyone who finished it...
... and last but not least: I don't know how to rate the mouse that I saw running across the floor at the end of the evening? But I don't want to think what the place might look like once everyone has left ... read more
