This was the restaurant inside our Grand M hotel. The view is amazing even in the foggy days . Our steak and sea bass was well prepared and tasted better than places in Zermatt. Service was attentive.

Dined here as I was staying in the hotel and after walking around all day was too tired to go back out. I sat outside (it was summer) and the view is 5-stars not to be missed! I started with a glass of bubbles which perfectly matched the ambiance and stunning panoramic view. My waiter was in training but adorable and very friendly, attentive and helpful. He also gets 5-stars! Unfortunately the food is not so great. All around me tables were grumbling about the very long wait and the poor trainee was profusely apologizing on behalf of the kitchen. I ordered a salad...the menu has it set up like an a' la cart 'pick 4 items and a dressing". It seemed stressful only having 4 items but ok... if you say so. My salad came quickly but how do I put this... have you ever had olive oil that has turned and tastes like a candle? That is what this entire salad tasted like. I am still trying to get the taste out of my mouth. I had selected the French vinaigrette as my dressing so I thought maybe the chef forgot vinegar or salt or something and requested both. Neither helped. I ate a few bites, paid and left. Too bad because everything else...view, ambiance, service, was great. I did have breakfast there the next morning (buffet) and it was unremarkable. But I really enjoyed my view and my coffee! 3 stars for location, view and service.

Amazing food and view! My husband and I go to Restaurant 45 every time we visit Montreux. The staffs are very friendly and the food is fantastic. The restaurant has an amazing view of the lake and I love how it's bright inside with the natural sunlight coming in. We try to have different meals when we go there but we always order their beef tartar with truffle oil. It's a very family friendly restaurant and i've also seen a large group of 8-10 ppl dining here.
This was the breakfast included at our stay at the hotel Grand hotel Suisse. It was a perfect breakfast with the most beautiful view. We had every morning during our stay here. The omelettes were delicious. The service was impeccable. There was a hot buffet as well as cold consisting of scrambled eggs, two types of sausage, pancakes, and hashbrowns for kids, assorted fruit, fruits, assorted cheeses, assorted meats, yogurt, juices and a coffee machine My only gripe was I wish they made a proper cappuccino versus the machine ones, but my husband enjoyed them! - read more
Amazing view. Near night market. Spectacular menu (see photo) and very nice room overlooking lake, great service during my entire stay. Very conveniently located near the train station and an easy walk, at that. read more

We came here on a Sunday for lunch. The view was beautiful, and the food overall was delicious -- we ordered the lamb chops and fish and chips. However, the fries were a major letdown: cold, dry, and wrinkled. It's disappointing when a restaurant can't get something as simple as fried potatoes right. Our experience with the service was also underwhelming. Our server had a noticeably sassy attitude and seemed completely disinterested in serving us -- or anyone else in the restaurant, for that matter. The highlight of the meal, surprisingly, was the cheesecake dessert -- absolutely amazing and easily deserving of 4 stars on its own. read more

Great meal, but what surprised me the most about this restaurant were the dishes I most enjoyed. Not the bone marrow ravioli, nor the tuna tartare, but rather the salad we ordered to share and the praline creme brûlée dessert. Not quite what I was expecting from a Michelin-recommend restaurant, but at least something blew me away! The restaurant is conveniently located directly across from the Montreux train station, and so we were able to make a lunch reservation here as soon as we got into town. The service was excellent, and we were promptly seated and well taken care of throughout the meal. And the VIEW on a clear day! Well... the view is certainly 5 star! One of the only downsides to the restaurant is its proximity to the lobby... throughout the meal we could hear people rolling suitcases and a woman talking on the phone. You may want to request a table outside on a warm day, or try and move deeper into the restaurant to avoid the noise. As for the food... I don't know if I'd actually recommend either of our main courses. Although the tortellini were beautifully presented, the sauce did not help to highlight the marrow, and half of the cheese trills that came on top were hard, not crisp, and so inedible. The tuna tartare was a better dish, with lots of ginger, but I can't say it was the best I've had. The seed salad, though, was amazing, as was our dessert- i wanted another crime brûlée after polishing off the first- and this was by no means a tiny dessert! Perhaps, if you chance a visit, go heavy on the apps and sides- it doesn't hurt to save some money, too! read more

Beautiful setting! But sadly, service was absolutely abysmal. we had a 7pm reservation for 2 people. we ordered quickly and got our salads (delicious!) relatively fast. But then there was a loooong wait after our salads. More than an hour. Our waiter actively avoided us. No one checked in with us during that time. By 8:45, no sign of our meal (filet) so for the very first time, we asked (politely) our waiter about the status of our food. Oddest reaction we've ever had in a restaurant! We expected the usual -- a quick apology from the waiter re:: the long wait and then for him to say he would check on the status. But instead, the waiter became immediately defensive, angry and belligerent with us. He said "it will come out when it's ready". It was just so weird and he was so immediately rude.we've travelled all over Europe and have never had such a rude waiter. So we said we would just pay for the food and drink we had already consumed and would like to leave. And so we did. So we never got to try our main course (filet Mignon) we ordered. No manager came over at any point to apologize or ask what happened We saw our waiter talk to someone who we assumed was the manager, but no came over to apologize. Again, so odd! Anyway, there are so many other pretty places with great food in Montreaux to have a meal. Avoid this place if you can. Clearly they do a good business, the place was packed so they won't need to change anything. Just be aware if you go. I would suggest ordering drinks for the absolutely gorgeous view and then go somewhere else for your dinner! The Fairmont Palace has a lovely restaurant, overlooking the lake (called Petit Palais) with a wonderful and friendly staff. read more

I can't seem to find a page for the bar, named Bar 45 and located directly next to the dining room for Restaurant 45, but if you're looking for a place to enjoy a cocktail or drink and watch a sunset in Montreaux, this is it. read more

Poor mannerism and horrendous customer service. The main issue is with the manager who refused to give us his name, but his middle name/fake name is Gwenldone. He refused to seat us at the area we previously reserved and specified on the porch and insisted that we didn't show up early enough for a table on the porch, although there were 3 vacant tables available without anyone occupying them and we showed up 30 minutes early. He insisted that he was right and acted in the most childish and arrogant of ways, completely disrespecting us with degrading behaviour. He said and I quote, "I make decision where you're seated" and that it's not up to us. We suspect that he was racially discriminating against us because of our visible ethnic background. He was pleasant to everyone else except us, despite us being extremely calm and courteous. Please stay away from this establishment at all costs and spare yourselves money and peace of mind elsewhere. It's not worth it. read more
