So glad we decided to go here for our one night in Montreux. We were seated immediately at a beautiful table by the window. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. The bread service was delicious. They had a good selection of local wines. We got the local white wine, which was really tasty. We started off with the mixed fried seafood and vegetables. The house made tartar sauce was amazing. It reminded me of being back in Lake Como. I then got the specialty of the house which was a clam and butter sauce pasta. The pasta was fresh and made by the restaurant. My husband also got a tomato based pasta, which was also good. The tiramisu was amazing and decadent and luscious. Love the cream in the tiramisu. Overall, a very beautiful and romantic meal. Oh yes, and we also had to try the fresh very very very fresh oysters. These were amazing and honestly, we should've gotten more than two. read more

Great little restaurant on the Main Street of Montreux. We liked it so much we ate there twice! The homemade lemon risotto with shrimp was excellent as was the pan fried sea bream. My husband found his Negroni to be expertly made and I really enjoyed a glass of local rose. Don't forget to get the homemade pizza bread as a starter! Came here on a Tuesday lunch. The place was fairly busy but luckily still had space for the two of us. We were drawn in by the fresh seafood displayed just outside the restaurant entrance. We ordered a seafood platter and the seafood linguine. The platter had a nice assortment of seafood and was very fresh. The pasta was delicious and had plenty of seafood hidden throughout. With the two dishes and a glass of wine, we spent 91 CHF but I felt it was worth it since we mostly had seafood and portions were on the larger side. read more

Very busy restaurant. The place to check out. There was a bit of a wait but glad we persisted. There are a lot of restaurants on the waterfront that we could have went patronized. The customer service was good once you figured out how it worked. The staff was nice and helpful. The menu wasn't large but everyone was happy with their food. I ordered the pizza which was wood fired and tasty. I usually don't like wood fired because the crust is usually never right but they know what they are doing! My parents got the sandwich and they really enjoyed it. I tried the steak with a little of chimichurri and it was really good. I was honestly surprised I didn't experience a lot of spicy flavors at other restaurants. read more

Would recommend the parmigrana, as the TNT flavor gets repetitive very quickly. The pizzas have great cheese overall, but are not the best compared to pizzas I've had in the past. A cute Italian restaurant on the corner of Rue de Marché and Grand Rue. We stopped by for lunch and was rather surprised by the crowd. We didn't have any reservations, however the hostess managed to fit us in the atrium section. Note to self, make a reservation. Our server was friendly and promptly showed us to our table. We ordered a couple glasses of Pommery Champagne to start. We also ordered the lunch special which is a chicken piccata with pasta. The entree was simply delicious. The chicken was tender and the pasta was cooked al dente. Presentation was phenomenal. The dessert menu was rather promising and we ended up ordering the Cafe Gourman. The dessert consisted of coffee, bacci di dama (almond and chocolate biscuit), apple tartlet, and a scoop of homemade ice cream. The serving sizes were perfect. The bacci di dama was my favorite part of the dessert and went well with the coffee. The dessert also had a nice presentation. Overall, this spot is definitely on my list of restaurants to return to when in Montreux. read more

Italy. Warm Coastal Breeze. Fresh Seafood. Although not all of the prior may be a reality during a late November, cold evening in Montreux, the freshness and quality of Rouvenaz is truly remarkable. It is a transformative place and the dishes here, are nothing like I've seen or tried before. Despite the level of chaos that naturally derives from a full restaurant, the gentlemen working here kept their cool and actually, seemed to enjoy the moment, taking a few minutes of breathing time periodically and stopping service. Everyone needs their sanity and it was pleasant to see them do so. Starting off the meal with a wild boar ragu in its sauce served with pappardelle that bursts with homemade pasta flavor. After absorbing the ragu, yolky pappardelle becomes a truly remarkable and memorable dish. Continuing into Datterini with Spinach, Ricotta and sage butter. A rather unusual pasta shape, that is very well balanced from everything inside of it. The sage butter is not overwhelming and the flavors of ingredients compliment each other. Back to the transformative side of this establishment. The menu delicately merges some of the best Italian classics into local ingredients and preparations of the alps. It is not the Italian that many would come to expect coming from a city. It's heavily inspired by the environment, the alpine lake seafood, the wild game of the mountains and valleys. Love love LOVE this place! My family lives about two hours away from Montreux and my mom and I decided to visit one weekend. We ended up looking for a nice Pasta place and came across La Rouvenaz. The atmosphere is great inside and outside and it's close to the lake! Location is perfect and really close to the train station/tram station. If you want to sit in the patio then I would recommend reserving ahead of time. We walked in and were seated promptly. You're given a paper bag once you sit down which contains a few different slices of bread. We finished ours before our pasta came out so our server gave us another one as our food came out. I ordered the spaghetti alle vongole, and my mom ordered the spaghetti con pesto alla trapanese. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and I would love to go back and try more dishes!! I was worried the pesto would be too strong and the vongole would be too fishy from the clams, but both dishes tasted very clean and perfectly seasoned! I highly recommend this restaurant in all aspects! Our checks came out to be about 58CHF which is normal for Switzerland. I highly recommend you spending the money for the food! This spot is right on the main street in Montreux. They also have a sister location right on the main boardwalk (in front of the water). We ordered the Diavolo pizza and the Chicken Pasta. Both were very good. The place is a bit pricey but excellent ambience and service. Ideal for a date / intimate dinner. In the restaurant they have four seating areas. One with few tables - kind of like a sun room. We sat here. They also have another outdoor seating area kinda like verandah. Inside they have main restaurant seating and also a back more private area. Like I said food was very good. They also have extensive wine and other drinks. A little disappointed at this Margherita Pizza. I thought all classic Margherita Pizza came with basil and mozzarella cheese on top. This was straight up what we Americans call "Cheese Pizza." I even asked the waiter to make sure this was the correct pizza. read more

We specifically asked for a family-friendly restaurant in the city center of Montreux and the hotel concierge recommended La Rouvenaz to us. We could not have been happier with her recommendation! Our dining experiences were very enjoyable. We came here for dinner upon arrival with our baby and toddler. There are five different levels of this restaurant and each section was jam packed on this busy Friday evening. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked if we had a reservation. Sheepishly, we said no. She looked around and said it'll be about a ten minute wait to get a table. That's it?? We thought it was probably just one of those numbers that hostesses throw out so that you don't leave and go elsewhere. We sat at the small bar where we were greeted by a friendly bar tender. Not the kind of "overly-uncomfortably-friendly" you often experience in the US where the purpose is to get better tips, but just the kind of relaxed friendly like how human beings should treat each other as a default position. Anyway, he let me try the two different local wines I was debating over and the choice was immediately clear. The red Saint-Saphorin was the obvious winner. Ten mins later we were seated at our lovely table with a baby high chair. Our waiter was busier than a one legged man at an ass-kicking contest. None-the-less, he was very attentive to our table, as well as to our children. I chose the Mussels Mariniere with pommes frites from the seasonal specials section of the menu. Mussels are a tricky thing to order at restaurants as they are often over-cooked and shrunken to a fraction of their orignal size and chewy. Not here! The smaller than usual mussels were juicy and tender, cooked just right. I savored each and every succulent little bivalve mollusk in my bowl before enjoying the mariniere sauce with some bread. Even the ice creams taste homemade and refreshing. We returned the following day for lunch after unsuccessfully searching for a comparable alternative and were warmly greeted by the same crew as the previous evening like we haven't left. The waiter even remembered my husband's drink. The olives on every table was a nice touch. My Risotto al limone e gamberetti was impeccable. The light cream sauce and the thin zesty lemon strips were perfectly balanced. Every bite was delightful from the first to the last. My daughter was so happy with her Pizza Bambino, basically a small pizza Margherita with ears and facial features. Creative yet so simple. As I was enjoying my perfect cappuccino, our baby knocked over my husband's cup before he could take a second sip. The waiter brought him another one free of charge. With it's city center location, friendly staff, delectable food and drinks. We'll be sure to pop into La Rouvenaz next time we're down in Montreux. read more

To the rescue, I looked up reviews of local restaurants and this one had many great reviews from just about everyone. The staff was friendly and spoke English, our server has a sibling living in California and Utah and he was very friendly. We had four days in Montreux. We had a brief meal at an interesting spot called La Rouvenaz. We enjoyed our short time there so much we went back for our last evening in town. Wait staff was excellent and the meal was even better. The Bruschetta is as good as it gets anywhere. I had the Tagliatelle with chanterelles paired with a Saint Veran. Delicious food, their seafood risotto is very good. They had some delicious appetizers however I must note this place is quite pricey.

The servant was always ignoring people. Also, their food is not good enough, as a 4 star restaurant.
