Established in 1991.

Antioche ou antakya, est une ville de turquie arrosée par l'oronte, près de la frontière syrienne. Elle fût fondée au iii ème siècle avant l'ère chrétienne et devient la troisième cité de l'empire romain après rome et alexandrie. C'est dans l'une de ces grottes que saint pierre, saint paul et saint barnabé ainsi que d'autres disciples de jésus de nazareth, reçurent pour la première fois le nom de " chrétiens ". (actes ix, 26) saint pierre en était le premier évêque. Par ailleurs, elle est la patrie de libanios, grand maître de rhétorique, qui eut comme élèves saint basile et saint jean chrysostome. A partir de 540, perses, arabes et byzantins ainsi que turcs, croisés francs et mamelouks s'y succédèrent. Appartenant de tous temps à bilad el-sham (la grande syrie), elle fût annexée par les ottomans en 1517, puis placée sous mandat français en 1920, pour être enfi n cédée à la turquie en 1939.

It was chilly outside so we ate indoors, in a cute little "cave" area. The service was friendly, but they spoke minimal English. We had the lunch special for 18€. It comes with 2 kabob skewers with 3 sides, and dessert. We picked one chicken and one lamb skewer, which were excellent. The chicken was arguably the best chicken kabob I've had. It was breast meat that was juicy and tender. The baklava was tasty.

There were many options including 3-5 course selections, but we opted for four separate side dishes to share. The owner offers personal attention during our entire visit and was very accommodating I have not had Lebanese beer, but it was very goos and he served it very cold. Overall our visit was outstanding ASN ended with a glass of mint tea. I highly recommend this restaurant and would easily return on our next stay. Enjoy!
