Though we ordered water multiple times, specifying we wanted still water, and were brought sparkling water. Anyway. I ordered a gyro with fries and it came with tzatziki sauce which was very good. The fries and sauce were good but the meat was super mediocre in my opinion. The appetizers were good but I only tried the seasoned bread. We were seated outside and were able to look out to the river and that was really really nice. A lot of people in my party ordered ice cream at the end of the meal and it looked divine so maybe that's something I need to try next time.

They give you bread for the table which was delicious! I wasn't super hungry so I ordered veggie soup with a side of garlic bread. My friend ordered the lamb. Both were phenomenal. I'm not a huge lamb person but she said it was good. I would 100% go and get this soup again. With the bread it was about 14€ or so. Totally worth it. This is the perfect place for a date- the tables all have candles and the dining ware is very fancy. I liked it a lot. Would absolutely go back.

For main, we had the "grilled meat for one"which was excellent (tasty grilled chicken, pork & Gyros!) but is really "Grilled meat for 2 or 3." We ended up sharing this which was a good idea as we couldn't finish it. After dinner, we received complimentary Cognac, espresso and dessert (fruit, yogurt) which was a nice touch and the restaurant was packed by the end of our meal. Besides that I'd also recommend to skip the plate, everything else was ok. Why would I still give 4 stars? - The Service is very thoughtful! You get free shots and if you don't drink them, they have us espresso for free. You get fruits at the end. Just overall asteria seems to care about the experience their customers are having!

The homemade fries are worth a special mention and so is the honey and walnut yogurt. The backroom can be hired for special functions. It used to be quite grim, which is no longer the case. The interior is still rather classic but not as conservative anymore, it is a bit more polished and colourful. Debit cards are accepted, and the managers just as friendly as they were ten years ago. Can be a bit busy and slow at times, and it isn't quite as cheap as it was in the past, but highly recommended. A place that delivers consistent quality and hasn't lost its appeal and character in recent years.
