But we came for the malakoffs and salad... and this place did not disappoint! Their malakoffs come out crisp, hot, and oozing with cheesy goodness. (I am drooling now as I write this!) It started to get a bit cool and rain during our meal. The staff quickly brought out cozy blankets to keep the kids warm. They loved it! The kids each got to pick an ice cream for dessert. I forget the other flavors, but one of the kids had apricot which was the biggest hit! The kids had never had that flavor before and everyone thought it was "THE BEST"! Some of the adults got The Bernadette for dessert, which I would say was just as good! I can't wait to go back!

Named after a Russian noble by Swiss mercenaries, this deep fried glove of Gruyere is one of my favorites. This restaurant is renowned for its malakoff. The dried beef (viande sechee) is amazing too. The whole meal goes best with a white chasselas. The only challenge is getting here without a car. Über will cost about 20- from Nyon. Count on about 30-40 from Geneva. You could always take a train to Gland and Uber from there too. Come out and try this place. You won't be disappointed.

It is the best I have had in Switzerland. The salmon slices were thick, juicy, and full of flavor..very refreshing on a hot day. Only one improvement could have been reducing the quantity of sliced onions on top. No worries though, that is easy to remove. The boys enjoyed their meat, which came nicely topped with a yummy mushroom sauce. My husband even watched them while they roasted the meat. We topped the meal off by sharing a house made citron tarte, which was good, but missing the extra "citron kick" that I prefer. The café to finish the meal was just a lovely note to end the experience. My friends have come here a couple of times before, and they mentioned that one thing they love about the place is that the menu offers a bit of something for everyone, and they haven't found anything bad. I still prefer the fresh baked bread that I pick up at the bakery in Prangins, but the bread here is good.

This 60 year-old family-owned restaurant served up the best cheese fondue and filet steak we've ever had and, thanks to their friendly staff and warm ambiance, we returned to our hotel feeling like we'd been integrated into the community for a few hours.
