Many, many years ago, back in the UK I used to listen to a radio DJ called John Peel. While…read morelistening to him, I heard a song for the first time from a little known American artist called Prince. I was hooked, and bought an album (Dirty Minds and then 1999) and when later Prince became famous, I could smugly say to my friends "I knew about him long before you did." Which brings me to the subject of today's review. La Vina, who like Prince back in the day are not as famous as they deserve to be.
The first time I visited La Vina, I was surprised by how friendly and helpful the staff working there were. I was also impressed by the price quality ratio which was very good indeed.
Three years later, I'm pleased to say that La Vina has not only maintained the quality of its service and food but has even improved.
If you're the kind of person that has to sit on a terrace even if it's minus 11 outside, then you'll love La Vina as they have a nice terrace, which catches the sun on the rare days it shows up in the Netherlands.
Incredibly, they can serve you drinks efficiently without the usual, well worn excuse of "it's very busy on the terrace today, so that's why it takes longer."
If you're a wine lover, they have a spectacular wine list, and I recommend taking one of their flights of wine. The food remains tasty and offers great value for money, and the actual ambience and interior of the place is like the Shallow Man, very chic indeed. ;)
Whether you're looking to impress the denim pants off a Dutch date, hold a business dinner or tell your other half that she needs to take her Ugg boots and move out. La Vina is the perfect place.
Stylish, great food and a wine list that will bring tears of joy to your eyes.
