Great food. Great location. Nice ambiance and vibe thanks to the corner on the canal Keizersgracht and The Leidsestraat, I think. It took me a moment to chose which door to enter. I went there for a blind date and he was already waiting for me. I was embarrassed since I couldn't find the front door! The service was a treat. English speaking and wonderful. Food was delicious. The wine bottle we shared was perfect. I'm still together with the person, after a year, I met on that blind date, so I guess it worked out for now! Highly recommended. read more

Delicious !!! We saw this cute place as we wandered the streets and wrote the name down to be sure to check it out for dinner. Well the very next day we did that! We can across this quant small trattoria as we were walking along the canal. Great neighborhood location tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We did not have a reservation and came in at 6:45 Pm. Were told we could be accommodated, but would need to to finish in one hour to be done by 7:50. Not an issue for my hubs and I. We thoroughly enjoyed a bottle of wine, app, meal, and dessert. So delightful. We had burrata salad, 2 pasta dishes, and the pear desert and gelato sandwich dessert. The gelato sandwich dessert was the highlight . Generous portion of Vanilla ice cream between two thin waffle pieces and warm caramel to dip. Great meal! We stayed til 8:15 and no one cared. best part! read more

First impression... Charming! I don't believe it gets much more charming than having a window seat in Pastini looking past bicyclers and over the canal at classic Dutch scenery. This place is cozy and inviting as you enter it's semi-rustic dining space. Locals seem to enjoy it as well as those of us lucky enough to stumble upon it. The menu has a lovely selection of courses and I began my meal with a starter sampler that included Caprese salad, prawn cocktail and risotto balls (Arancini Di Riso to be exact). For my main I chose the feature pasta with goats cheese and a cream sauce. The entire experience was very nice along with a very kind and attentive server. I haven't been to too many fancy restaurants in Amsterdam - opting more for the type of place that serves beer....with some broodjes, or goat cheese salads and bitterballen on the side. That feels weird for an ex-foodie from SF but it's kinda true. You get lulled into the same ole thing until you realize you've been eating tosti's for 3 weeks straight now and thought nothing strange of it. Then you come across a place like Pastini's - where the food is imaginative and delicious and reminds you how much fun eating can be - For starters, try the tasting dish and pick three appetizers so you don't have to choose just one. I've tried a few of the pastas as my main and I still always order the Linguine Romano with Brussel Sprouts, bacon and cream (who wouldn't!). And for desert, I have to confess I had the coconut ice cream with caramel sauce once and didn't share with anyone. The interior is cozy and candle lite, with big windows that look over the Keizersgracht, the wine list is extensive and the ambiance is charming. Perfect and wonderful location right on canal in old town, just a few tables and some by window so you could gaze on boat traffic. After a long day of walking and a cool spring evening, the small candle lit room was much appreciated. Went here w 2 kids and husband. Menu was diverse and everything sounded great. The Baratta freshly made mozz was outstanding, the kids enjoyed the bread and tiny breadsticks, we had lamb stew w pasta, pesto pasta, and bacon cream linguini. Delicious food, intimate venue. The restaurant was kind enough to accommodate our party of six with no reservation. The wine selection had a good range of prices. The appetizers (we shared the goat cheese/beet salad, carpaccio, pumpkin soup, and duck) were all delicious. We each tried a different pasta (I can't remember them all, but I believe we had the ricotta, bolognese, gnocchi/veal, gnocchi/garden veggies) were all delicious. So with two bottles of wine, 4 appetizers, 6 pastas, and 3 desserts, we only each paid €34 Euros?! read more

Yo you should go check this place out before it gets crazy busy. It's a great find in Amsterdam--the best of our trip. The food is spot-on and you don't have to go Italian with it. They sneak some Dutch options into the menu and they're good. Also, their waitstaff is so nice--very helpful, charming, and on-the-ball. Finally, it's great value for money! If you need to take your lady out to a nice place in Amsterdam and don't want to break the bank, I'd suggest this place. They have wonderful appetizers / antipasti for ~7 euro and the mains are reasonable too. This is the spot! read more

This place reminds me of old Europe. They have authentic Italian food with a twist - not to mention the beautiful views overlooking the canals and bridges in Amsterdam. They also play relaxing Iounge music and light candles in the rustic dining room to add to the ambience. I love the romaine, mint and mango salad and the primi portion of spaghetti pomodoro. On a corner of the Keizersgracht you will find this small restaurant specialized in great pasta's. Between us and our friends we always show up in groups of different configurations but are never disappointed. The owner and his team do a fantastic job of making you feel at home in their quaint living room sized restaurant. A nice choice of appetizers followed by a great selection of exquisitely prepared pasta dishes. For us this is a family dinner place but it can be whatever you desire it to be. read more

My husband and I just had a fabulous dinner at Pastini on Monday evening. We had read that it was a favorite restaurant for locals and it was often crowded so we dropped by early in the afternoon and were able to make reservations for 7pm. It is cozy and elegant, with simple decor and lovely views. The wait staff were friendly and solicitous. Our meals were delicious. For starters I had a spinach salad with pears and blue cheese with a lemon vinaigrette - the best spinach salad I've had in years. My husband had duck rillette with mango slices and cleaned his plate. For main dishes I had tonight's special - chanterelle mushrooms in burratta cheese with sage, rosemary and a puff pastry. My husband had tagliatelle with 'Dutch' shrimp and sweet peppers. Both excellent and both a perfect serving size. We capped off our meal with a dark chocolate torte and a peach tart - exquisite. Including two glasses of wine each, our meal was under a hundred euro - a real bargain considering the quality of the ingredients, the innovative preparation, attentive service, and charming surroundings.
