For a date night out in Schaerbeek, the wife and I decided to try Chabrol, having heard nothing but good things about it. We had no idea what the menu would be, as it changes regularly, but we were game for being surprised.
First off, three building is beautiful. Well lit, beautiful façades. A great feel for a nice night out. The menu is lugged around on a chalkboard and brought to your table. The servers were friendly as well.
They had an interesting selection of local beers, including one from Brasserie de la Mule, which is very close to the restaurant. They also paired the wine well with the dishes.
Sharing with you what we had will only serve as a taste of what to look forward to, as the menu will undoubtedly be different. We had a spin on a Vol-au-vent, with lentils and sweetbreads ; and an a salted fried fish ball dish called accras de lieu. We also had a delicious crème d'oignons starter with an onion tonka bean sauce. The dessert was also very good.
Again, don't expect these dishes to still be on the menu, but definitely expect a great meal! read more
