Corporate was here ONCE when I was shopping and it was some tall old grey lady belittling her employees which was infuriating to watch but not as infuriating as shopping here weekly and having to wait 45 minutes to an hour in line EVERY F****** time! If the place is busy at noon have all employees on deck, all registers open, more than one supervisor checking counts. Speed up the process when it's busy it's not rocket science. I'm constantly having to go tell someone in charge who's just sitting down having a jolly relaxing old time "hey your line is around the back of the store maybe open some more registers" They aren't clueless they are ignorant because they aren't even checking. And there's one short manager lady with glasses who is LITERALLY never on top of it. There's a short dude with his pants hiked up that deserves to be in charge here because he knows how to lead in times of need. But I feel like they won't let him I'm writing all of this as a business owner who shops here once a week & can notice this. Someone from corporate please do something. I asked to speak to one of the managers. The worker said his name was Alex. I stood around waiting for ten minutes then I see Alex messing around and I asked if he was going to help me and he said he would shortly and never came back. I couldn't believe it. He just seemed so focused on belittling me and the staff. I could have sworn he had dog poop on his shoe and was spreading it across the place or maybe that was just his natural scent. Best way I can describe this location-- the majority of the staff here is people that got in trouble and have to do community service and have a bad attitude about it. Just zero customer service skills. The lines are quite ridiculous to check out and it's not even necessarily that they are understaffed, it's just that almost all the staff in the front is working in slow motion. No urgency. No care to get people checked out quickly. Last time I was there I was in line for 23 minutes. Not including the checkout itself. Not acceptable. Go to the Miramar location if you can. I dread coming here, it's anxiety inducing. From the moment you enter the parking lot people have their carts in the middle of the lanes so cars have to maneuver in and out, everyone is also too lazy to return them and puts them in parking spaces instead. Once inside you will find that every week they are out of something that you need, it never fails, they cannot stock the shelves correctly. Although the employees are kind and helpful, something is always wrong with inventory. When you make your way to the checkout lanes, they are never all open. The ones that are open are backed up into each aisle so you cannot get through from the front of the store, you need to go to the back of the store and pick a line to wait in. Visit was on a very quiet day ..unfortunately the Membership card machine wasn't working so we couldn't get a new card following my wife losing her wallet. Prices for the most part were good. Some of these reviews are straight up STUPID. The staff is nice unless you are not nice to them, the parking lot is what it is, if you can't hang with carts everywhere don't come. The tomatoes are not more expensive than Vons, dunno what you are talking about. Yeah they run out of stuff especially in the afternoon but there is always an alternative. Never crowded and loaded from floor to ceiling with food and food related supplies. No hammocks, Kirkland jeans, children or mountains of socks to climb over here, just the good stuff. I have always used Restaurant Depot for big gatherings with friends, more specifically the crab boils that we throw once every couple of months. Huge cases of crab, shrimp or anything your heart desires really. I did buy ten pounds of frozen king crab here for about $100.00 and if you know crab, you know that's a deal! You'll sure to find some humor in this place when you walk in and see just about every chef, manager or owner from around town doing their shopping. Wait, those torta rolls aren't baked fresh? You don't peel your own garlic? You buy your champagne for bottomless mimosa brunch here for under $2.00 a bottle?! Oh, man. The new location is awesome! The floors are sealed with actual tile now! Everything is up on a shelf, where it should be. The freezer is huge now, which is only a bummer in that I have more time to freeze my ass off while shopping for meats and cheeses. I come here every week for groceries for LP and the staff knows me pretty well by now. The ladies at the front are always pleasant, and the guys help me lift heavy items and load my car up. They are quite skilled at getting stuff into my little Corolla when my boss' truck isn't available. Extra points for shiny, new U-boats. I practically had to get a tetnus shot every time I used the old ones. Downside, they don't have spare boxes anymore. read more

These people are sooooo friendly. It's like Costco, but they have a giant freezer/fridge section that has automatic doors. They also give you an orange coat to stay warm while inside. It's cray-cray! I was in search of a 19" Wok new/use at a reasonable price. Most places on the internet, cheapest I found was $42 that included shipping. I couldn't find a Cantonese walk in the thrift store. The wok was needed to make a bisque mold for clay, making plates, bowls and bird baths. I went to Restaurant Depot, not only did I purchase the walk needed for half the price, I encountered the most helpful and accommodating people!! I told my cashier, I had found everybody to be so helpful. Someone even help me get my soda out of the machine that work there. Me being 5'1", getting something from a shelf because I couldn't reach. Every time I shop here, I fear for my life that someone is going to run me over with a forklift or a scissor lift. Their employees are mostly not helpful and when you check out, even with 5 items, you must wait minutes for a supervisor to approve and count your items before they will charge your card. All this tells me is that they don't trust their employees. It's a very terrible customer experience and it's unfortunate that there's not a great alternative to shopping here. For example, I bought two small packages of cherry tomatoes for $9 something, where I could've gone to Albertson's or Ralph's for $6 the most.
