This review is for a singular…read moreincident yesterday morning and the one star review is just to get their attention. upon entering Costco yesterday morning, I LOST or MISPLACED my Costco credit card. it probably did not make it into my pocket and dropped on the floor.. when you are going on your eighth decade, these things happen sometimes. I went up to the front desk to get a one-day pass and made the mistake of saying out loud I lost or misplaced the cart.. now please remember there are two cards, your membership card, and my credit card. This episode also had serious "lost in translation" consequences. Now, as soon as this woman heard the word lost she looked at me and said "I'm canceling your card" and did it on the spot and a nanosecond with no explanation other than "you said you lost your card. Now at this point because of somebody's poor translation skills and explanations I don't know if we're talking about my Costco account card or my credit card.. and the situation is escalating without her, listening to me at all, and with her just repeating the same things over and over again. She then goes over to the printer and pulls out a new Costco membership card with a different number.. so she had canceled my Costco membership due to a security concern. I am sure which is just OK and gave me a new Costco card and membership number.. since I have never used the membership card and always the credit card. No big deal. she then said something about my Costco credit card, which I did not quite understand but sounded like and I'm getting you a new credit card.. WHAT? It turns out that after I got home and was able to call the credit card company. She had ordered a replacement credit card with the same number, thank goodness.. I did not even know that she was allowed to mess with my credit card and account. One time, one off, I went home called the credit card company, got the explanations I should have received at Costco, took a pill and watche the ball game.
