    Dozen oysters. Pretty tasty
    Joanna S.

So disappointed. The oysters were good but the service and value were terrible. This is a place where you trick yourself into thinking the food tastes good, just because it was expensive. The waiter was rude. My napkin was on the table before any food arrived, and he grabbed it off the table and condescendingly threw it onto my lap. Also there was a HAIR in my friend's dish of ravioli... I have a picture posted to show it. Literally there was one piece of ravioli and it had a hair in it, so she obviously had to send it back. The chef brought her replacement and apologized. However, I was very surprised that they did not give anything complimentary despite the hair abomination... they should have brought a dessert or something on the house. Pretty disappointed. Would not recommend.

Fresh salmon with it's own roe, rye crumbs, crime fresche and asparagus

The best meal we have had anywhere in the world in the last year. The food was spectacular and the service genuine and friendly. This place is pricey but so is all of Norway. The menu is fixed with six courses offered but you get to pick which ones you want. There are three appetizers, a main, a cheese course and dessert. A couple of extras are available (oysters and bread) and there are two wine pairings suggested for each course. And a few amuse bouches/palate cleansers show up along the way. We had a stunning raw salmon appetizer with "its own roe", creme fraiche, asparagus and rye crumbs to start. It was followed by a minke whale teriyaki with sweet potato, followed by poached flounder with cauliflower, followed by hake, followed by cheeses and finished with a "nemesis cake" with strawberries and coffee ice cream. Yes it was expensive, but boy was it good.

First...Mikail...great waiter. Made our night. The food and wine were hard to top. Inventive fresh ingredients...all so good. The restaurant is gorgeous. This is a great night of food, wine and sites.

Absolutely amazing meal, made with Norwegian ingredients and local taste. Every dish was intricately prepared and meticulously thought through. Presentation was very pleasing as well. The oysters were also quite delicious, being from the US, we've never tasted some of these European oysters before. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion and to experience fine dining in Oslo.

Beautiful presentation. Delicious dishes. Modern interior. Took lots of pictures of the six course meal we had. Very relaxing atmosphere and attentive staff. Would come again if I lived in Oslo.

We enjoyed our experience! Awesome waiter who made the meal with recommendations and guidance. The salmon was perfect followed by a very good halibut. The brownie - strawberry / dulce de leche was a great finish.

We did not have a reservation, but luckily they managed to fit us in at a shared table. This place is extremely popular so I would highly recommend making a reservation. For our entrées, I ordered the fish and chips while my husband ordered the creamy fish soup and my father ordered the fish gratin. All three dishes were fresh and delicious, but I think the fish gratin was my favorite. So if you find yourself an Oslo looking for a delicious meal down by the water, come check out Fiskeriet.

This is usually a clear sign that something is amiss. We were seated in a long table section and our menu had been pre-ordered ahead of time. We could either order the salmon or the game stew. The meal included a beer or wine as well. When one person in our group asked for a simple cup of hot water, the server flatly refused and said it wasn't part of the agreed upon menu. Another person asked if she could change her dessert because she was a diabetic. Again, we got a complete refusal to be accommodating. The food was decent, but nothing worth putting up with cold, unhelpful, and indifferent service for. I can see why the locals don't eat here.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nice young lady and asked her for a table for 5. She said, hold on and that she would be right back. He looks at me, no greeting, no smile, and then with this look and a roll of his head of what do you want, said, "yes?" I told him, the other female was already helping us. He then said, what do you want. I proceeded to tell him we were wanting a table for 5. He then said, we have no table when clearly there were tables open and no one else waiting. My husband then said, well she told us to wait. He replies with, "She is a nobody here. Just a waitress. She knows nothing. We cannot seat you." We travel to a foreign country only to be met with racism! Asian group walks in and automatically turns us away. Thankfully this was our only bad experience in Norway. Once seated several people came to assist us and it wasn't because of the language barrier each one of them spoke English fluently. We placed our order, got our food, ate it was full but not necessarily satisfied. There was one server she was pretty decent but the rest of the experience was mediocre. The only standout were the scallops, perfectly cooked and delicious. Look at the pictures because I really don't have the energy to discuss my average meal! This was a more casual outpost of their regular restaurant across the way. The menu was smaller so no salmon soup for example but we did get the grilled salmon. It was lightly grilled and almost a bit too rare for my wife who hates overcooked salmon. She really did enjoy it since this salmon was so fresh. The serving was a decent size and the bed of mashed potatoes was very good (lots of butter)! Service was lightning fast. There was both indoor and covered outdoor seating. We did not have a reservation but came early enough to snag an inside table. It was the right choice as the rain really started to come down about that time. One caveat was that we had to wrap up our meal within 1.5 hours which wasn't a problem for us. The menu was unique as it was printed inside a newspaper. One just had to flip pages to find the drink, food and dessert menus. Given the namesake of the restaurant we opted to try three different salmon preparations: Our favorite dish was the salmon tataki which was lightly grilled in a ponzu sauce. If it was larger then we would've gladly eaten this as a main dish. The grilled salmon came in second as it was perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were a great accompaniment, creamy with truffle flavors. Our least favorite was the hot smoked salmon and pasta salad. There was an unusual taste to the pasta salad that detracted from the salmon. Service was just ok and it took a long while before we could get any attention to close our check. While tipping wasn't expected in Norway, the Salmon's credit card terminals start with a tipping option screen before you can pay. If you're curious about salmon farming in Norway then check out the exhibit at the other end of the restaurant.
