My review is about two weeks late, since I'm back in the States! I didn't want to give them a shout…read moreout, because I lived right around the corner from Exenberger while back in Frankfurt.
First of all, the staff here is lovely. Given that some of the other traditional German places where we had dinner in the last few days had the rudest staff ever, this was a breath of fresh air. I am not a tourist here, I used to live in Frankfurt and am back to visit family. Things have definitely changed a bit since I was here last time. But let me get to the point.
We had Leberknödel and Kartoffelpuffer. Both meals were super yummy, and pretty big portions. I was starving since we had just gotten off of a long flight that day, but normally this would have almost been too much for me and I would've done the American doggy bag thing at home.
Outside seating with ample, I would call and make a reservation if you were going after 6 PM for dinner. We walked here, but if you are driving get ready to search for parking. Parking in Sachsenhausen is terrible, I would suggest taking public transportation or walk.
We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures, but if I find one I will add.
