First of all, the staff here is lovely. Given that some of the other traditional German places where we had dinner in the last few days had the rudest staff ever, this was a breath of fresh air. I am not a tourist here, I used to live in Frankfurt and am back to visit family. Things have definitely changed a bit since I was here last time. But let me get to the point. We had Leberknödel and Kartoffelpuffer. Both meals were super yummy, and pretty big portions. I was starving since we had just gotten off of a long flight that day, but normally this would have almost been too much for me and I would've done the American doggy bag thing at home. Outside seating with ample, I would call and make a reservation if you were going after 6 PM for dinner. We walked here, but if you are driving get ready to search for parking. Parking in Sachsenhausen is terrible, I would suggest taking public transportation or walk. We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures, but if I find one I will add.

The interior decor is absolutely lovely, food portion is average for the price. Staff was friendly. You will be sharing tables if you are just a group of two or three people, but it seemed like it's mostly locals that visit this place, so it was not too loud and actually quite pleasant. Just make sure to go to the counter to order and pay for your food though, we didn't know this and waited quite long for someone to take our order.

Die Pommes waren total versalzen, das Hackfleisch ungewürzt und total zäh. 10 Minuten nachdem das Essen kam kam die Bedienung schon zum abrechnen. Sie wollte feierabend machen. Die Bratkartoffeln waren größere, leicht angrannte Würfel aus mehlig kochenden Kartoffeln. Der Salat war noch reichlich mit Erde versehen, dass man vermuten kann, dass er ungewaschen war. Bei diesen Erfahrungen sind mir die positiven Bewertungen unverständlich.
