Excellent place for breakfast. Service is great and they have such a lovely patio that overlooks the plaza. We tried to have breakfast here on our last visit and the wait was very long. Place was just ok. Nothing really special and service was just ok. We went wanting and had to wait. For as slow as they were at 5:00, I would have hope our server would have been more attentive. We had fajitas steak and shrimp plates for dinner. The fajitas came out not very hot, but surprisingly with flour tortillas vs corn. Not the normal for this part of Mexico so leads me to think their more focused on the tourists vs locals. Not a lot of meat and good amount of onions and green bell peppers. Nice touch was it came with a good amount of guacamole and rice, also a little surprising but I liked it. It's a casual dining experience and most b people come here cause there's not a lot of options right on the plaza. I prob won't come back again unless others really do. read more

This place is nice and they have seating inside and outside. They're was a person with a guitar entertaining the crowd. But you have to give him a tip. He played acoustic music. It was nice. We wen inside and the waiter took our order. It was 4:45 pm and he mention at 5 we close the kitchen. So we made it just In time. We ordered tortilla soup, Arrachera plate, steak plate, and shrimp cocktail. First They bought us some sauce and tortilla chips to go with the sauces. They brought pico de gallo and tomatillo sauce. They were Very good just the way they should be. We really love them. We mention to ourselves, "if sauces are good food must be great. Sure enough everything tasted so delicious. The meat was so tender and tasty. The soup was very delicious. We really loved everything. Highly recommended. They also had refreshing fruit waters. Watermelon, lime, melon and regular sodas. The soup came with some buttered baguette slices. The shrimp cocktail came crackers and the meat plates with some tortillas. The regular water We ordered came in a glass with ice. It tasted very good. It was not tap water at all. Shrimp cocktail was warm and it looked like freshly made. She also mention there were Plenty o shrimp in there. read more

Very nice classic Mexican ambiance. The food was excellent. The molcajete mixta was large and very good, with shrimp, beef, and chicken. The sopa Azteca was also excellent. Service was good. We arrived and was seated right away. We came in for breakfast our waitresses showed at the table and took our order, turn the order in and then continue to chat with other help. We didn't get good service attention at all. The food was good but the lack of service would make me never want to return. I ordered a fruit plate with my order it never did show up. With such a great location, why would they bother to make good food? For whatever reason, they do! And it's not just your basic, run of the mill Mexican food, either. My Aztec soup was wonderful: tortilla and avocado with just the right amount of heat. I went back for it the next say. The Swiss Enchiladas were excellent and unexpected. But the real crown was the spicy brown salsa that greeted us on arrival. It was like nothing I've ever had, and I wanted more every time. If you're reading this review on your phone outside the restaurant, you already know that it's a beautiful location. The service is excellent (they found the water bottle that I left behind), and they will not rush you. They will wait for you to ask for the check. read more

OK people we while in Ajijic found this place and decided to adopt it. This is definitely a expat hangout so perfect for getting the 411 on the area. The service was constantly good and the food made me wanna take a walk afterwards. I like this place and plan to visit more in the future. read more

We go upstairs so we can overlook the plaza. Even if no one is up there, they'll send a bartender up to mix up very nice and strong 'ritas AND they have about the best micheladas in the area. They always bring a bowl of peanuts. Locals play pool and shuffleboard. We smoke an occasional cigar with no complaints. The food is always good too. The queso (huge!) is served in a hot hot hot molcajete (sp) so it stays hot until the end. A wandering guitarist strolls through and he's pretty darn good! read more

We sit in the outside patio and it's so relaxing, and although it is outside, sometimes people are smoking at other tables and that doesn't go great with food The service is average, could be better. This place was one of the busiest restaurants on the Plaza. And for good reason. The service was superb. The food was fantastic. And the price was, well, shocking! Three of us had full lunch meals with a beverage. My husband actually had 2 Modelo's and the price was $317Pesos. Or about $15. There are a lot of Americans and Canadians in Ajijic and I particularly liked that the wait staff spoke in the language you chose to speak to them. If I spoke English, he responded in English. If I spoke Spanish, then he responded in Spanish. It was abundantly clear that he wanted his guests to feel comfortable. I said "you are very busy today" and he responded "I am very blessed today". I LOVED the attitude and frame of mind. I tipped above my normal 20% and they deserved that and more. read more

My husband and I decided to go out to dinner at Jardin Plaza restaurant today. The waitress was pleasant, so I ordered a watermelon drink. I had just sipped on my drink and then a fly fell in. I asked the waitress for another drink. She did replace it with a another. Then she told next time she wouldn't. I won't be returning to this restaurant. The food was about a 5 out of 10. My husband ordered a glass of red wine and he said it tasted old. He just had a sip. read more

Been there a couple times the past couple weeks and both times were good experiences even though they were apparently shortstaffed one of the times they still managed to do a good job.
