Make sure you request to sit up on the veranda. It is a small space surrounded by all kinds of succulents and other plants. The food looked like works of art. The appetizer guacamole for two is a must with homemade tortillas and sweet potato chips topped with a baby corn, cheese and micro greens! We shared the pork shank with grilled pineapple, adobo sautéed carrots and onion with a yellow grilled pepper of some sort. It comes with a pineapple, avocado and roja salsa. A trifecta of flavors to awaken your palate! A lovely presentation and our server, Ricardo was extremely helpful and kind. Mostly gringos when we were there, but the food is superb! read more

Great food! The food is authentic Mexican with style and knowledge of Mexico's pre-Columbian roots. Some dishes carefully add fusion and explore new taste buds. Really interesting and gorgeous presentation. Lots of emphasis on corn and its pre-Columbian delicacy celebrated by many Mexican upper cuisine places- Huitlacoche. So many personal touches like Sangria with pomegranate seeds. They are closed on Mondays. read more

What a lovely restaurant. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Food was really nice. I made a special order of chicken breast in mole sauce instead of the tacos. They were super nice and made as requested. The chicken breast was so tender despite it having a wonderful crisp on the outside and the mole was delicious. The accompanying rice and vegetables were delicious. Veg so fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband had the asparagus soup and the shrimp crusted in amaranth. Both very good. This is a wonderful restaurant with lovely owners/staff. Highly recommended! read more

Outstanding food! We're from Chicago so we're used to world class cuisine, but the food here is amazing! The drinks were so good. I had a cucumber margarita and my husband had a mezcal margarita. We ordered guac for a starter and loved that they also served it with sweet potato chips. My main dish was exquisite. I had the chile en nogada. It was exquisite! The flavors were spot on and it was such a treat! My husband had the pork shank in birria. The meat was so tender and the sauce was delicious! The chef, Gloria Rodriguez runs an amazing team and the pride of her art shines through in every dish. read more

I think this is the best restaurant in the Lake Chapala area. The food is creative, delicious and beautifully presented. Dinner is busy so you need a reservation, but lunch is usually quieter so you can walk in most anytime without one. read more

We loved this restaurant. From the time we were greeted to when we left, it felt like a magical experience. They have their own spin on margaritas which was very delicious. The food was amazing. I had chilies en nogada which was a first for me and I fell in love with it. My husband had a pork stew which he raved about as well. We both agreed that this is the restaurant that all other's will be judged by! We were sad that we were not able to return during our stay but will definitely return we we travel back to this area! One of my favorite restaurants in Ajijic! There is a seasonal changing menu, and it's always fresh, creative, and delicious! They understand 'gluten free' so it's a safe place for me to dine. The owners Ricardo and Gloria have done an amazing job, putting together an awesome restaurant with stellar meals. If you have an opportunity to attend a special event dinner, do it. Wow! The food here is really great. We've had the salmon with pistachio mole and it was fantastic. The pork shank was also excellent. Be sure to order the creme brûlée when you get there because it goes fast! And it is the best. read more

My wife and I ate here on our first night in Ajijic. The restaurant was recommended by our AirBnB host - we're just down the street. She told us it was one of the best restaurants in Ajijic. I don't have that perspective yet, but I can say it's one of the best restaurants we've eaten at anywhere. The restaurant is very small - two rooms with 8 tables, but very clean and airy. Ricardo, one of the owners, waited on us. He told us that they had recently remodeled to expand the space. He, his partner Gloria, and some of their employees did all the work. We had an appetizer of squash blossoms stuffed with cheese and deep fried that was excellent. Mary had a poblano and cheese stuffed chicken breast, also delicious. I had Chicken Birria - stewed chicken. Don't let the name fool you. This was a leg and wing that had been cooked in a wonderfully spicy broth. Served with red rice and a kind of corn compote. Just a great meal. The restaurant appears to cater to expats. Everyone we saw looked like relocated Americans. I don't yet have a sense of relative value in Ajijic, but our dinner - an appetizer, two entrees and several glasses of wine was 560 pesos, not including the tip. I calculated that at about $30USD. By all means, check them out. We'll go back again. read more

We had trucha al ajillo (trout) which was tasty but over cooked and too much salsa and other ingredients. The "patata rellena" was tasty. The guacamole was "stock" and only average, the same for margaritas. Average to below average for restaurants in Ajijic. read more

Our best meal of our trip to Ajijic. Friendly little corner restaurant frequented by the local expat community but no worse for it. I had a huitalacoche soup and a grilled steak with amaranth flower fritters and two salsas. My dad had black mole with pork ribs that had a great depth of flavor. Friendly bilingual staff.
