They usually have a special of the day four course menu besides their current itemized menu. Having tried both options, I actually liked picking individual items from the menu rather than the pre-set four course menu. The pre-set one was very Danish, appetizer with Danish fish eggs (yeah, Danish caviar!), smoked salmon with cucumbers, Bornholm chicken and a mazarin cake. They all tasted very good but again it is pretty Danish. On the individual items from the menu, the foie gras appetizer is the best and the lamb dish is also very good. This place makes their own green sauce called "klorofyl" (!) and it is delicious, they serve it with few dishes together. Overall, setting is unmatched with Oresund views, atmosphere is cisp and chic, and the servers do a really good job. We were suprised to be asked how our food was during the meal (you don't always get this in Denmark). Approximate $: 500DKK/person (appetizer, main course, a bottle of wine shared)

Our server Christian was super nice and recommended a rhubarb and citrus soda made locally in Denmark. He even called over to the other restaurant to let them know we were coming and then sent one of the cooks to make sure we didnt get lost in the trees. Now that's crazy good hospitality. We were welcomed by Raffaele and another young man with blonde hair from Italy (so sorry I can't recall his name) they were lovely and so kind and accommodating, especially after my husband shared his upset with the experience with Rafaelle particularly. Raffaele did make it right which we appreciated. Our reason for the 3 stars is around the original service, food and wine pairing. The food was presented beautifully but not every dish was 5 stars. What really brought our review down is the fact the wine pairing, which my husband did the top notch pairing, just didn't match. Max, brought him the wine late and didn't match the meals to it or explain fully, his glass was often left empty and my husband was willing to spend and expected much more from the wine experience and display/offerings and it just wasn't there. Max didn't excite the experience and my husband left disappointed. We also noticed that several different staff members present, give welcome towels, serve the dishes, and run around restaurant and unfortunately for us there were many instances of water not being filled, late delivery of something or mix ups. What I have to say is absolutely stellar, is the non alcoholic pairing. I did that and it was beautifully done. That is really the star of this place in my opinion, but some other areas could use improvements considering this is a 3 star. It reminded us of a very traditional Michelin style 2 star, and had some room for improvements.

We stopped here for dinner last night after walking around Freetown and wanting something warm and filling because the weather was in and out with a light drizzle. We ordered the chicken congee (plus hoison chicken) and a mushroom barley risotto along with their Snickers waffle for dessert because why not. Even though we were virtually the only people in the cafe, the food took a pretty long time to come out. Both of the savory dishes were incredible. The congee was so saltily wonderful and we loved all the toppings (except the excessive amount of peanuts). The dish was rich, but all the veggies cut through everything--so good. The ristotto was equally impressive because the mushroom flavor really popped in the broth they used, and the rest of the accouterments of cheese, sautéed mushrooms, etc, on top really sung. A winner. As for the waffle, what's not to like? A solid preparation with chocolate and peanut sauces drenched on top. No complaints. We thought the total tab was a bit high for what we got, but this is Denmark, so we're getting used to the elevated pricing. We wouldn't say that Grod is worth going out of the way for, but it's a very fine meal if the craving strikes and you happen to be in the area. Four stars, and not a bad start to our trip.
