Came by for dinner the other night and it was a mediocre experience. Restaurant Mark is located next to the train station and is featured in the Michelin guide.
Dining is available indoors, outdoors, or in a private room. Made a reservation and my table was ready upon arrival. I thought it was slightly odd that the waiter kept on framing that the restaurant went through a change and increased the price of my tasting menu and asked if I was ok with it?!?
Meal started off with a few appetizers, including a raw oyster, which I'm typically not a fan of. The ham course was tasty and unique. The beef croquette was framed as an arancini which I was slightly confused. I'll take it as a language barrier.
The catfish ceviche was odd. I haven't seen seaweed presented in a dish like this before. To validate my concerns, I noticed diners next to me, skipped the seaweed...
The baked potato course was also odd. I only ate half as I didn't want to fill up on dinner with merely potatoes...
The organic beef tartare was also an odd course as this was topped with raw mushrooms. To further validate my concern, I noticed the diner next to me also only ate half of this course...
The mushroom toast I was able to eat, even though it was topped with snails.
The braised oxtails may have been the highlight of dinner although it was a smaller course. Flavors were on point and the oxtails were juicy and flavorful.
The dessert I also didn't quite understand. It was a poached rhubarb along with some ice cream.
