Since we were driving by Drummondville and I had been here before, we decided to stop in so I could treat my wife and daughter to some amazing poutine :). There are a lot of different options but we stuck with the regular and absolutely loved it. The fries were great, the brown sauce amazing, and the chunks of cheese curds were huge with the perfect amount of "squeak" :) The dining area is enormous and the customers just kept flowing in with only a small wait as the employees kept everyone efficiently flowing through. It may be "typical" fare, but the food tasted amazing :). Well worth stopping in!

We went to your restaurant for my birthday on Saturday, July 11th. We are regulars, especially for…read morelunch, and we have always enjoyed our meals. However, that evening, we were very disappointed. It must be said that the restaurant was almost empty. My wife ordered the Stimpson's surf clams au gratin, and it was overcooked and very greasy, compared to what she had eaten before. She then ordered the salmon tartare. The dish looked good, but the tartare lacked flavor and was bland (I would recommend going to Shakers further down the street). The fried lasagna strips were not crispy at all, nor were the croutons in the Caesar salad. I ordered the cod in a pastry crust, Italian style. Although everything was good, the piece of cod was very small, maybe five tiny bites at most, and the amount of pasta on the plate would have been enough for two people. The only positive thing about our experience was that our server, Guillaume, was courteous and friendly. He suggested a good wine to accompany our meal and took good care of us. Even after mentioning it was my birthday, I didn't receive the birthday discount advertised on the restaurant's website, which added to our disappointment. The value for the meal vs price was not there. I don't know if the kitchen wasn't working properly that evening or if they were understaffed, but our experience was extremely disappointing. I don't think I'll be returning for a special occasion.

Inventor of the poutine or not, I thought it was a fun place! Lots of seating, friendly staff, and a stacked menu. I got the regular poutine with the authentic sauce (it tastes a bit sweeter than the normal gravy) and I thought it was good! The cheese was very fresh. It's quirky that they put the cheese at the bottom. A worthwhile tourist stop.

First they put a layer of curds on the bottom of the bowl (no where else did this from chain places to supposed old school restaurants) then the fresh hot fries then more curds (A LOT) on that then the gravy. The cheese curds squeaked when you ate them. It's set up like a Subway sandwich place, cafeteria tray style so nothing special inside but who cares with poutine this good? They people inside mostly spoke French but also could switch to English and were friendly. They had lots of tables and booths inside and at least 8 tables with umbrellas outside. This is just off the main route heading back to US border for us going home to CT. Will absolutely be our last Canadian stop now before crossing the border. They also have a cheese and gourmet shop attached and they were selling fresh corn in a kiosk in the parking lot (which you can't take back across unfortunately because it looked great). And everyone purchased these cream filled smallish donuts so we probably missed a trick but we were so over full of sweets and pastries from our Montréal/Quebec vacation we just couldn't get any. Highly recommend.

Of course having a true québécois best friend helps as her family lives in Kingsley so they know the best cheese shops so this weekend I got to try the SQUEAKIEST curd cheese of life. If it's not made right there on the spot it's a disgrace wise words from my best friend. You can get Kingsley or guillaume back home but once it gets transported from fresh to cold and hot and cold and hot it just turns out MEH and loses its beautiful taste. So do yourselves a favour and make the drive to this location and grab a large bag for $8 dollars to go and then take a seat and order a poutine.

We started with drinks. Pooh's dad (Andre) and I had Bloody Caesars, Pooh had a beer and Marie a house cocktail. The cocktail was too floral. Our Caesars were great. For appetizers Marie and Pooh had mussels, Andre, a Caesar salad and I had the French Onion soup. Andre's salad was a good size; Pooh and Marie enjoyed their mussels and my soup was very tasty Before the appetizers arrived a panier of warm bread and buns with a delicious olive oil and parmesan cheese sauce was brought to the table We ordered the Table D'hôte. Marie, Pooh and Andre had the fillet mignon and I had the bavette (flank steak). The cook on the steaks varied. Pooh and I ordered medium-rare; Marie ordered medium and Andre ordered medium-well. Pooh's steak was medium and my steak was medium-rare at the thinner end and very rare (almost blue) at the thicker end. Pooh, Marie and Andre had a baked potato without any butter and I had french fries. We shared two bottles of Italian red wine which was an excellent choice for the steaks. For dessert we had the brownie with ice cream. The brownie was dry - we needed the ice cream to help get it down. Pooh, Andre and I had a Brazilian coffee to wash everything down. Marie was driving. The service was excellent. Our server Édouard was very attentive; always checking on us. He was pleasant and had a friendly smile. Our glasses of water were always filled without us asking. The bathroom was unisex.
