I don't know how anyone can not love the European McDonald's! Ever since I left Europe, I've been…read moreobsessed passing a McD's in the States just saddens me. Most of the locations here in Europe use the kiosks, which I actually loved. I'm used to ordering from a person, but going to the kiosk made it faster and gave me time to really study the menu before deciding. Mind you, this was all before 8am haha, but I totally needed it! I did go big on my order (had to stop myself at some point) but to me it was all worth it. They have these cool deals and boxes, so I got a mix of nuggets and mozzarella sticks. Even though I ordered so much the food here doesn't make you feel heavy or bloated at all. I didn't feel stuffed, which was such a pleasant surprise for the amount of food I ate. They serve both breakfast and the regular menu so you can get whatever you're craving at any time. Spicy nuggets - not my favorite, but had to try 6.5/10 Fries - fresher and less salty than in the States, use sauce if you want more flavor Mozz sticks - mid, but not bad McKroket - completely obsessed, 1000/10 OJ and chocolate milk - solid McMuffin - good The packaging is also really clean, which adds to the experience. They also take apple pay, which made things super convenient. Big sad moment: the ice cream machine was down! I was really looking forward to trying the Biscoff McFlurry and other European exclusive flavors. Guess the ice cream machine is a international problem!! lol For the size of my order, everything came out super quickly. Customer service was great! The cashier was super friendly and even chatted a bit with me while helping, which made it feel personal. If you're visiting Amsterdam Airport, make sure you hit up McDonald's. You won't regret it.

When in Europe I never thought id go to Mc Donalds. However, when you are stuck at the airport,…read moresometimes things are not as they seem. European Mc Donalds has been a pleasant surprise. The food is actually, wait for it; Good! Im not joking, and pigs are officially flying. I bought a happy meal for my mom who eats like a kid, and a supreme Burger, with bacon and the works. Along with fries and a sundae. This was one of the best meals. Maybe it was the circumstance or the fact i was starving, but no joke, Mc Donalds both in Germany and Holland 10/10. So good. I didn't take a photo!

Walked to town from the Novotel Hotel. Worked up an appetite and wanted to try a broad selection of…read morelocal items. We started with fries and added some of the things we don't normally find in the US: cheese tengels, bitterballen, kipcorn, frikandel, and veal croquette. Don't panic, there were four of us sharing all of the items. We tried about 4 causes and we all fell for the Joppie on the fries. Joppie appears to be a mix of mayo, onion, curry, and a few other things depending on the recipe. We even found Joppie flavored chips later in the week. For my American friends wondering about the interesting options on the menu . . . here's a little intel: I fell in love with the bitterballen. Crispy on the outside and almost gooey on the inside. I could have eaten them my entire trip and never tired of them. Crispy, warm, savory, meaty, yummy. Cheese tengels. Imagine a small, narrow cheese-filled fried spring roll. Order more than you think you'll want. They are fabulous. Kipcorn. Imagine a chicken stick, breaded with crushed cornflakes, and deep fried. Yeah. They're good. Not particularly exotic - you'll be reminded of a fried chicken patty from the uSA. Frikandel. A deep fried sausage (hotdog style). Tasty. Prices are good. The place was incredibly busy. We grabbed our items and then had to hover near the few benches near by to sit down and eat. Because we tried one or two of several things, we had a lot of things to pass and share. Kids also got milkshakes and thought they were really good. Everything was fresh and tasty and decently priced. Fries are crispy. Fries are gluten free. Restaurant is pork-free.

Schiphol was a mess. A small flurry of snow had somehow caused massive delays…read more Most of the food options in the post-passport control area looked sad and disappointing. There was a nice variety of sad and disappointing - sad and disappointing sandwiches, sad and disappointing pizza, sad and disappointing sushi, Burger King - but everything did appear to be sad and disappointing. I went with Leon because it looked less sad, and even a little bit interesting. The food? It was fine. Nothing special. Nothing I would seek out in a non-airport setting. I had the Korean chicken wrap. It was exactly the quality you'd expect from an airport fast food establishment located thousands of miles from Korea. The rice bowls appeared to be of a similar quality. If I'd been hungrier, I would have ordered one of them. So why five stars? The five stars is to their employee Ivanka (her name was on the receipt), who handled the massive line of stressed out customers with efficiency, grace, and good humor. If you are the manager/owner of Leon, you should give her a raise. If you are hiring for a company in Amsterdam, you might want to look into poaching her.

Then, help more when we needed cold water to cool down the boiling water. We each got a breakfast sandwich. I had the bacon & egg (how American of me. Lol). The weird thing was this ketchup sauce they had in the sandwiches. We THINK it was curry ketchup, but not positive. The sandwich was tasty. It was on an English muffin that was not what used to seeing. (Funny when you only know American style English Muffins. ) My daughter & I had Latte Macchiato's - they were so darn good. (Going to miss my European coffees. Again!) They have a decent seating area, but not geared towards families with babies. Lol we made it work. Corner seatings should be reserved for families.
