This Albert Heijn feels almost American in scale - huge parking lot, right off the A44, and…read moreridiculously easy to access whether you're driving or biking. Coming from Amsterdam, I'm always amazed by how big this place is and how much easier it is to navigate compared to cramped city supermarkets. The selection is incredible. They carry items I can't even find in Amsterdam, like ready-made airfryer meals and specialty products. Plus, having the fish market, Gall & Gall, and Etos all in the same complex means you can knock out multiple errands in one stop - super convenient. The only real downside? Prices could be better, but that's Albert Heijn in general, not specific to this location. If you're in the Katwijk area and have a car, this is hands-down the most convenient option. Plenty of parking, massive selection, and you won't feel like you're playing supermarket Tetris just to grab groceries!

Really enjoyed shopping for my groceries here! The Jumbo (formally c1000) has really made shopping…read morequick and easy. After paying for a shopping cart (50 euro cents) you walk in and can grab your own scanning device. You start at the touch screen and it assigns you your very own scanner. While you shop all you really need to do is scan each item and place it in you shopping bag. Once you are done with your shopping you go to one of the cashier centers that handles the self scan system. They will charge you and you will be on your way. Be aware that they do random checks to ensure that people are in fact scanning their items properly. Things I would change: Since the self scan system is so popular I think it's necessary to have more cashier stations handle this service instead of the traditional shopping system! Right now that is NOT the case. Make it easier to scan like items! Now you have to use the (+ and -) on your scanner instead of being able to scan like items more than once. Overall: Highly recommended! Tips: Bring your own bag and don't forget to scan every item!
