I wish I could give this restaurant a higher rating, but the food was genuinely not great and expensive. My husband and I came here since we wanted a reprieve from Mexican food and was pretty disappointed in our meal here. We got the Cumin Beef and Seafood and Beef Hot Pot. Cumin Beef - This was not bad, there was just not a lot of beef. One of the servers told us each dish was meant for 2-3 people, and it's not even meant for one. The flavor was pretty good, but it was pretty salty. Crazy that it didn't come with rice for the cost. Seafood and Beef Hot Pot - Literally had no flavor to the broth and barely any seafood or meat. It tasted like all the ingredients were just boiled in water. There were probably 3 shrimps, 4 small pieces of beef, and 3 oysters. Overall, they overcharged us for a meh meal. Had dinner here one night in December 2025 during Christmas week. The service was good, the waiter and the staff were warm and welcoming and very attentive. The food was OK for both portion size and flavor, it wasn't bad but it wasn't really good, I went in with very open mind. It's Asian food in Cancún.. my husband got the beef noodle dish which was 75% onion, 20% noodle and 5% beef 5/10 . Mine was Salt pepper shrimp 10/10 flavor and texture. Chicken curry was OK it was son's order and it gave him a sour stomach after. Veggie noodles and green beans for table were serviceable 5/10. All the dishes were over loaded with massive amounts of dry red chili what looked to be Szechuan pepper corn, it was about 4 x what I've ever seen or tasted before ever. This is my absolute favorite style of Chinese food, I will get it anywhere that I find it when traveling or being in a new area and this was probably the least palatable version that I have had with the exception of the salt and pepper shrimp, that was actually pretty spot on and tasty. What I didn't like was the entire receipt was in Asian language and you had like 2 seconds to scan over it while waiter just waited and watched, he was not rude in any way just kinda ansy about it.. you could feel the pressure to get it done.. additionally asking about the tip that's was automatically added was a little bit awkward, it was in another language and I only saw it because I put it in Google Translate. We are always going to tip and will tip more if the service and food are even kinda good, the auto tip being snuck in was a bit of a damper. Last thing my stomach got a little jacked up from the overload of dried chili and peppercorn, I ate Mexican food all week and everything on 10 spice level and never had a problem anywhere. Honestly I'd probably do it again, if I was in the area I'd get the shrimp again but make sure I wasn't having anything else happening that night or the morning due to the.. gastrointestinal issues, not serious but definitely significant. Absolutely Devine !! I have been craving for Chinese food since I got here and I read many good reviews on the red notebook it was sooo delicious !!! I ordered the highly rated pickled sour sea bass fish fresh from the ocean and it was a full heavy portion...the owner said it was 0.6kg... good deal. And I got the conch salad which was really crunchy and yummy. cut nicely. Some people think it's weird to eat Chinese food on vacation in a foreign country but being Chinese it is my comfort food and combining fresh ocean fish with the classic flavors is definitely a hit ! Okay, having asian parents meant that I ate at this place 4 days in a row of our 5 day trip. If this place had an mlm promotion, we would be at the top of the pyramid lol. Here's what's worth: Stir fried conch- wok hei flavor, sweet side with plenty of veggies to balance. Not fishy at all, resembles squid but tender. Fried string beans- kind of sweet with some ground pork bits. Tender and crunch yet fried well so it slides down your mouth. The stir fried cabbage was alright, but the only other stir fried veg option Spicy fried chicken- delicious, perfectly seasoned not too crispy or oily Pickled fish- I don't think the fresh fish is worth it but they will influence you to get it. Opt for fish pieces. The pickled fish is great and the pickled veg beats the states in the crunchiness and flavor. On the other hand the plain spicy boiled one is not worth it and doesn't have heat/much flavor. Stir fried beef noodles- okay if you want a Chinese American dish. A bit wet, but not soggy. The interior does have 2 air cons FYI. The top floor can be reserved if you have 15 people. They sell drinks too, no free tea/water. Card/alipay okay. read more

Why this place doesn't have more reviews is beyond me. We are visiting from Texas and me and my Filipino boyfriend wanted to try some Asian food near our hotel and everything exceeded our expectations. This is better than any Chinese food we have had in the U.S. We ordered the green beans, mixed fried rice, stir fried conch, and tripa de res and nothing disappointed. My parents were craving Chinese food by the fifth day of our Cancun trip so I took them here! To our surprise, the Chinese food was delicious and satisfying. My parents are very picky with Chinese food and they were happy campers--that says a lot! I wouldn't say the dishes were 100% authentic or what we are normally use to, but honestly it is very close. After standing in front and seeing our first venue, we quickly pivoted and walked across the parking lot to have this evening's dinner at Restaurante Chino 中餐厅. Our meal order was: * Mixed Fried Rice * Fish Head and Tofu Soup * Fried Beef with Broccoli * Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage * 3 Coke Each food selection was very good. The best tasting dish was the mixed fried rice. My sweetie spoke with the owner who said she's been in Cancun over 10 years and running this business for 6 years. Service was excellent. 5 days of tacos and we were done. We got the fish head soup and beef with broccoli. We couldn't enjoy some of the seafood (shellfish) due to allergies, but the food that we could enjoy was spot on like it was back home, so needed after no vegetables for 3 days. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, Restaurante Chino is the place to go. We're visiting from Los Angeles. After two days of Mexican cuisine, we decided to try something different. Restaurante Chino exceeded our expectations! The restaurant's decor isn't fancy, but the food is outstanding. The highlight of the meal was the Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage (酸菜鱼)--it's among the best I've ever had, even compared to what I've enjoyed back in LA. After speaking with the owner, I learned that the fresh sea bass, brought directly from the harbor this morning, made all the difference. We were lucky to be the second group of guests today and enjoy such fresh ingredients. While the 15% service fee might not be common in Mexico, it is reasonable when compared to Los Angeles standards. Great quality Chinese food in Cancun. However, they take quite a long time for making some basic dishes. Moreover, it is very overpriced and it wouldn't be such a problem but BEWARE. They will charge you for a service tip on your bill without letting you know, so DO NOT TIP and don't make the same mistake as me. We were very surprised to find a Chinese restaurant so close to our hotel in Cancun! The food was great: The food was tasty and comforting. It was surprisingly really authentic for a restaurant in Mexico. However, the waiting time was terrible: we were waiting for so long for our food, it took half an hour or maybe even longer than that. This is a really good Chinese restaurant. All dishes good no matter what your order. The chief know how to cook. My family visited twice in our stay. My 2 kids and I both enjoyed the food. If you are looking for tradition Chinese food. This should be your go to place in Cancun. Only down side is restaurant short staff due to pandemic. Have to wait for over 30mins if you go after 7pm. Delicious traditional Chinese food. We are from Michigan and we loved it. Staff speaks Spanish, English and Mandarin. Place is super cute and clean but it is small so if you have a big group I suggest calling ahead to reserve a table. We'll definitely come back next time we visit Cancun. read more
