I sat at the water and I even saw a crocodile which was fun! Great place for pictures too as the sun sets. Our server Monica was a riot. Let me just start by saying--this is hands down the best Indian food we've had outside of India! From the moment we walked in, the experience was exceptional. Amazing atmosphere! Food was good! The atmosphere makes this place special! Each table has its own little hut. We were lucky to sit in a hut that was right on the water. The sun was setting and it was just marvelous. The food was good. If you are from the US, it's not the exact same as the Thai food that we are used to. So we went to this place for a nice Thai dinner. The ambiance was neat but the lighting is oddly yellowish and this proved to be a problem. I have a shrimp and egg allergies. When we ordered I very specifically stated and had the waiter repeat "No Camaron y No Huevos". He repeated this back to me so I thought that it was understood. When the food arrived my SO mentioned that she thought there was egg in it. It was impossible to see true color under the odd light so I didn't think so and asked again to "Si! No Huevos!" The dinner was delicious. Unfortunately that night and for the past three days since that meal both myself and my SO have been dealing with Montezuma's revenge! I got it first and when we examined the leftovers, it was obvious there was bits of egg throughout! But then she ate the leftovers and promptly became sick as well. I am typing this while we wait for the plane with a three hour flight that I am NOT looking forward to while running like a faucet! read more

Amazing views, great vibes and good food! I booked the outside "lagoon table" two weeks in advance for a Saturday night, it was so worth it. We had 180 degree views of the sea, and came in around sunset so it was beautiful. The food and drinks are definitely on the pricer side as it's located in the hotel zone - to give you a rough idea, the lamb chops were around $100 USD for 4 pieces. It tasted really good though. My personal fav was the Thai junoon, a refreshing, tasty drink! The servers were very attentive and enhanced the experience. I would recommend going to this place if it's in your budget. I felt like I was somewhere in South East Asia when we stepped into this restaurant! A beautiful location overlooking the lagoon and a perfect spot to watch the sunset while having dinner. The menu was pricey but the Indian and Thai food were both solid. Bold popping spices with all the sweet, sour, salty flavors they are both famous for were there in every bite. What a beautiful, elegant restaurant this is. I stumbled upon it hidden in the luxury shopping mall in the Zona Hotelera and was disappointed to find out there were no upcoming dinner reservations available. However, we got lucky on a Friday night to snag a tiki hut with an amazing view of the sunset an hour before the next dinner reservation arrived. After eating Mexican food almost daily on this trip, eating Thai was a welcome break in taste profile. My mezcal and cucumber cocktail was strong but refreshing and the perfect accompaniment to admire the sunset. We shared spring rolls, papaya salad, and chicken skewers that were all prepared well although lacking in spice, but very overpriced. I guess a restaurant can charge whatever they want when they have prime real estate, and I'm not even mad about it. The view is worth every peso. If you are lucky to get one of the private tiki huts, you can choose to lounge on the couch or sit at the table- both were comfortable. The privacy of your own space is so coveted in these COVID-era days..The other tables in the restaurant are equally as private and well decorated, looking like bungalows hidden in a jungle. Service was excellent as well. Ambience is a solid 10/10. Food (I can only vouch for apps) 6/10. Drinks 8.5/10 Do yourself a favor and book a res around sunset if you're in Cancun, totally worth it, especially for a romantic date night or special occasion. read more

A very unique dining experience! This restaurant is located in the back of a mall and features Thai and curry dishes. It's definitely trendy & everything is catered to the dining experience. We came on a Wednesday night and though it was busy and pretty crowded, we were able to get seated right away. The host asked if we wanted to sit in a bed on the treehouse and we happily obliged. The food and flavors were great; as well as the drinks. We especially liked having such a private area to eat at. It's definitely pricey, but I think it's with the experience that you get. First, this restaurant is more Indian cuisine than Thai, but we very much enjoyed both influences. It has a nice decor, and the views are truly outstanding. We sat outside with a great view of the sunset. Because were were there in August, we were sweating pretty profusely until after the sun went down and it cooled off a little. There wasn't much breeze the night we were there. Service was very good, but the food quality was truly excellent. Among the best I have had at Indian or Thai restaurants. We had 8 people and everyone very much enjoyed their meals. We had everything from seafood to chicken to beef dishes and it all rocked. Our 8 and 5 year old grandkids were so in love with the Chicken Satay we ended up ordering 3 portions of them. Drinks were also excellent. It's a little pricey, but not more than I expected it to be. The ambiance of the place is SO COOL. We sat in an elevated bungalow and ate the YUMMIEST Indian food! The appetizer of samosas was perfectly and full of flavor. Our server walked us through all the sauces and dips that came with our meals We got two paneer dishes to share that where amazing. Paneer Mahkani was silky and perfect. Tender paneer and fully of flavor and mild which my fiancé loved!! I got the paneer dish with mint and lentils and a sauce similar to Mahkani. It was AMAZING. Naan bread was light and perfect. The food was also incredible. The chicken kabobs with the peanut sauce tasted extremely authentic: they were savory and well-seasoned, and the peanut sauce was subtle but powerful. The Atishi Kofta was the best Indian dish I have ever had. It was cheesy with a strong tomato flavor, but it also had hints of curry. The Mango Sticky Rice was unfortunately lacking in flavor: the rice was too salty, and there was not enough cream. Overall, however, I highly recommend this restaurant. Note: there are tables on the water; however, it is almost necessary to call and reserve those seats: you cannot just walk in and get one or even reserve online. read more

We had a wonderful combination special with shrimp, chicken and lamb. The Thai beer is very refreshing too. The atmosphere cannot be described or expected as you walk through a busy mall. The tables on the water are lifted at different heights on stilts and it feels very private - just you, your meal, the ocean and the sun or moon. 03/08/2020 Day 5 in Cancun. I made an advance reservation to take advantage of having dinner in a hut above waters and the view is amazing. Our hut include a table a big lounge sofa. We ordered the chicken satay as appetizers, shrimp fried egg rolls, pad Thai, and beef curry. Everything was flavorful and so good. For desserts we ordered our own desserts of mango and sticky rice. On our last night in Cancun, we had a lovey sunset dinner on the lagoon! This place was so cool. They have wooden huts with straw roofs for a dope atmosphere and it really amazed us. The thai food was very delicious. We ordered the green thai curry and the pad thai. Both had tons of flavor. Would recommend grabbing some spring rolls with that as well! They had an extensive wine list so we just had to grab a bottle of rosè. The service was great as well. We had a waiter by our table the entire time and catered to our every need. Very nice guy! We also had a visitor (a crocodile) during our dinner. The crocodile lives underneath the restaurant and we got witness them feed it! Overall it was a really cool experience and had amazing food! This was a perfect romantic, first-night dinner choice. Hidden on the bay side of a super high-end shopping mall, it's a little tricky to find, but totally worth the effort. It was a Friday night, so we had made a reservation in advance, and they seated us as soon as we arrived. They asked if we preferred Thai or Indian and whether we preferred to sit inside or out. We preferred Thai and, since it was a lovely, mild night, we chose outside, not realizing that that meant we would be seated in our own private, over-water palapa! The charming thatched-roof palapas are situated hovering over the bay, some up a few steps from the ground-level boardwalk and some a few steps down so that they're staggered and therefore quite private. As for the food...well, in this case it almost doesn't matter how the food is because the atmosphere is so stunning. But, as it turns out, the food is quite good, as well. We started with the paper-wrapped shrimp and the spring rolls. Then, we followed up with the warm grilled beef salad and the Thai lamb chops. All were very tasty and well-prepared, except for the lamb which my husband said was over cooked and fatty. Probably not what I would've suggested one to order in Mexico anyway. Stick to the seafood. Anyway, after dinner, we retired to the day bed in our palapa and enjoyed the remainder of our wine while listening to the peaceful sound of the water lapping. As I said before, it truly was the perfect retreat to ease us from city life into chill vacation mode. I would definitely go back. Walk through a jungle and dine in a private cabana hut. Disney could not pull this off. The food, all we had was great. Awesome bar too! The food will not be for everyone, it's spicy. Omg this place was so cool and delicious! I was recommended by a co worker to try it out because she had visited It when she was in town. She knows I'm a big foodie and I was blown away by the ambiance and the food, service was on point too. I loved the fact that you could eat in a small tiki hut siting on the water, although we didn't get on of them, we were sat on the waters edge overlooking lots of plush areas. We ordered the chicken satay for appetizer and it was so tender and flavorful. The meat just melted in your mouth. I ordered the Thai lamb chops and my boyfriend ordered the chicken masala. Mine was absolutely perfection. The lamb was cooked perfectly, it had an amazing flavor and a spicy sauce to dip into if you preferred (which was just as yummy) mine was served with rice that was a perfect accompaniment. My boyfriend enjoyed his masala very much as well. We ordered mango and sticky rice and it was to die for as well. The drinks were so, so good too! I had the cucumber basil drink that was incredible and my boyfriend had a kiwi margarita (I would've tried it but I'm allergic to kiwi), he loved it. The only negative thing I have to say is that we made reservations online with open table and put down that we were celebrating a birthday and nothing was mentioned at all. We ordered the fried spring rolls, a shrimp appetizer, Dal makhani, Chicken tikka masala, and a Thai dish that glass noodles with some crispy noodles, and an ordered of garlic naan. This place came highly recommended. It's hard to get reservations and I heard people swear by it, so I was excited. I've been eating Thai food most of my life so I have a bit of high expectations to begin with. We had a seat by the water, which was beautiful, however the food wasn't as great as people said. We had to ask many times for water and other items before we got them. I ordered the chicken coconut soup MILD and it was at the least medium but probably worse. I couldn't eat it until I had water, which again I had to ask many times for before they'd bring it. I love red curry but they only had panang only and I'm allergic to peanuts. So I went for the green curry as people raved on here about it. It definitely didn't taste like what I'm used to and had a strong white pepper taste. I couldn't even finish it. My dad and boyfriend got the panang curry however and said it was very good. We asked for the check and waited 30-45 mins to receive it, I assume they figured we wanted to sit and talk. From our experience I had no desire to ever go back. Perhaps if I tried something different but this place just wasn't up to my standards for Thai food. read more

My wife and I reserved a private hut on the water two nights ago. The ambiance was great, and the waiters were very available and attentive. These are the positives. The negatives: the food was mediocre (I got a pad thai). There was also quite a bit of weirdness with the drinks. My wife ordered a particular cocktail; they came back to her with a totally different drink and said they were out of the first one, then charged us for it. Why not simply inform her that they were out of the drink and ask her if she wanted to order something else instead? Then I ordered a Thai iced tea and got back a large glass with ice and what seemed to be just condensed milk; no tea. I asked the waiter whether there was any tea inside, and he said yes. He then asked if I wanted more tea, so I said 'please!'. He came back with a small shot glass of what seemed to be syrup (sugar+water). There was no tea in my Thai iced tea. The whole thing was really strange; if you don't have Thai iced tea, just say so. The dishonesty with both drink orders was disappointing. I first came to Cancun in 1996, and I remember this restaurant from many years ago, and I had good memories. This was my first time back in a while, and unfortunately it looks like things have drastically changed. Aside from the issues mentioned above, it's no longer really a Thai restaurant; more than half their menu is now Indian dishes (they merged with a neighboring Indian restaurant into themselves). This place offers you an experience that is frankly unparalleled to much else. Where else can you have your own personal hut, ambient mood, and an amazing meal right on the waters? We came here after craving some Asian food while on vacation. The restaurant is located behind a mall, so it can be a bit difficult to find- we got lost, but an employee at the mall was nice enough to guide us! Making a reservation is definitely the move, although if you're looking to sit by the waters, you'll have to do a bit more. We had made a reservation with the request for a table by the waters but when we arrived, they seated us at a back hut which offered a lot of privacy and coziness, but wasn't what we wanted. We asked the staff that seated us if we could get a table by the water, as most of them were empty by the time we arrived, and they said that the reservation automatically assigned us a table when it went through. However, seeing as most of the tables were empty, we were confused and asked our server, who then told us that if we wanted to sit by the water, we would have had to make a reservation, which we did. A bit suspicious wouldn't you say? When we brought that up, he went to talk to the first staff member and they then offered us a high table overlooking the water. While this is definitely not as private as the huts, we wanted to see the sunset and it was definitely worth it. A side note though, is that many of the huts by the water remained empty the entirety of the time we were there- long story short, if you're looking for a table by the waters definitely advocate for yourself! I won't let this moment detract from the overall experience we had, which was absolutely amazing! The food was to die for, and the green curry that I ordered was decadent and the thickest green curry I've had yet. Spice levels were perfect, although you could definitely go hotter and still survive! My partner loved his pad thai- it's off the menu but you can still order it! We had a very attentive waiter and had an amazing meal while watching the sunset. Definitely check it out if you're in the area! read more

Picture yourself entering a jungle as you walk into the restaurant. Small alcoves are situated under the canopy of the greenery where tables await your presence. OR venture further to wooden decks jutting into the lagoon to capture the sunset. This restaurant's atmosphere is very welcoming and elegant. It is all outdoors and only open for dinner. Cuisine wise -- it is has an array of Thai and Indian cuisine. Which do have some overlap but differences in execution and flavors. Each dish is distinguished by the Thai or Indian flag on the menu. Sidenote -- my family is Thai and I have visited Thailand on many occasion! So we are sometimes picky... sometimes. Service wise, they are very professional and friendly. Anything we requested or had questions about, they tended to us pretty quickly. We ordered family style and chose the following: - Som Tum Goong Sod (Thai)-- which is papaya salad with shrimp. Very well done! It had a good balance of the saltiness from the fish sauce, spiciness from the thai chili pepper, and tanginess that you want from fresh lime/lemon juice. - Khao Soi (Thai) -- a curry dish served with noodles and fried noodles. It was a solid dish that left you wanting to slurp more! Be careful, it can be quite messy to eat and it will stain your nice white shirt (my shirt was sadly a victim by my own clumsiness). - Khao Pad Gai (Thai) -- literally fried rice chicken in Thai. Beautifully done! The jasmine rice was nicely crispy and not overdone or too soft. The flavors were not overwhelming and my parents were impressed! The one small thing is that we wish portion was 25% more. - Pla De Phuket (Thai) -- "Pla" means fish, and Phuket is, well, one of their famous touristy island. Regardless, the fish was crispy, moist, flaky, and the sauce was on point! Definitely a must if you like spicy and lots of flavors! - Murgh Tikka Masala (Indian) -- very solid curry and the accompany basmati rice was on point -- though a small portion. The garlic naan was warm, crispy, and very well done! The decor, plating, and experience was remarkable! BUT, you are paying for it too. The price is on the high end, and I'm sure getting the ingredients to make all these dishes add to that too. Portion size wise, it is conservative and enough.
