Feel lucky that I was able to return and it remains my favorite restaurant in Lisbon! The interior seems to have gotten an update in decoration since my last visit, and service was very attentive. Highlights of our meal included the starters of fried prawns, braised tuna with sweet potato, and mussels. The sea rice was just as good and packed with seafood as I remembered. All of my dining partners enjoyed this as their introduction to food in Portugal!
I had high hopes for Duque, as it got good reviews from several different sources. Maybe they had an off night? The oven roasted octopus was alright. I liked the fried leeks and sweet potato mash that came with it. The vegetable braz with truffled oil was...interesting? Funny, one of the staff came to drop it off and she timidly placed it on the table, said what it was as if she was waiting for us to object to the dish. It did the job of getting a veggie serving into our diet that evening. The sirloin steak was pretty bad: overcooked, dry and tough. We ordered it medium rare and it came out medium. The photo I took actually looks like it would be ok, but looks can be deceiving. The potatoes were good: nice and crispy. Cute ambiance. They have several restaurants down this street. Reservations available online 30 days in advance.
I would go back to Lisbon in a heart beat to dine at Duque again! For those who are traveling or visiting Lisbon you must stop in for a meal. This was literally the best meal I ever had! Two words. Octopus Salad! You must get it. It is so fresh, juicy, tender MMMM. Their seafood rice is to die for. Literally if it was my last day on earth I would go back here!!
The food at Duque was very good. My mom and I ordered the lamb chops, octopus salad, and one of the bacalhau dishes. The octopus salad was very flavorful, though a bit oily. The lamb chops and cod dishes were a bit plain - they could both use more salt. Once we added salt and pepper, the lamb chops and cod dishes tasted very good.
I was there a few days ago. I found this restaurant by watching one youtube influencer. 1) Small restaurant 2) decor is kind of cute. Portugese restaurant style 3) This restaurant suppose you need reservations. I went in early May, still a lot of tourist. I have to wait for 35 minutes, almost 8:45pm, then I got seated, that is ok. 4) Waiter came very fast and food arrive very fast. 5) Nice employees there. 6) I got grilled large tiger pawn and black squid ink pasta. very good 7) grilled seabass, my husband has. Around $15 Euro. Super good 8) also got Ceviche fish 9) got chocolate mousse for dessert. it is so good and I eat here the next day again. It is "that good".
My wife and I were in Lisbon for a week and finished a Tuc-Tuc tour on our first day and I found this place on Yelp. It was pretty close to our hotel. I ordered a big beer to start off and we got some olive and hummus appetizer. Really good. Our service was quiet but she was nice. I ordered the full sea bring. Oh, so good. I love a whole fish, and here it was 15 Euro. Lotts of good accouterments on the side too. Pretty small place, so get there early, but they have two other nearby locations I think. Great lunch in Lisbon!
This restaurant was an awesome Yelp find! We ordered the Duck breast and cod fritters/croquettes and both were amazing! This ended up being one of my favorite meals in Lisbon. It is kind of confusing because when you arrive, there are three restaurants that are all named Duque restaurant in a row on the same street. These are all the same restaurant, owned by the same people, and have the same menu so you can choose whichever location has more seats available!
This should be the #1 restaurant in Lisbon right now. The food is so worth it and the price is shockingly inexpensive. We ordered the white fish ceviche, duque's cod & oven roasted octupus. The sauce for the octupus dish was so creamy and sweet potato-ey it's not something you find in a seafood dish but it fits right in! Everything we ordered was a 10/10. If u dont like soury food, the ceviche was sour x2. The restaurant itself was really quaint and small but consisted of 4 other rooms next to each other. We made a reservation for 9:30pm and were seated right away. This place gets packed so make your resy.
Do yourself a favor and go here instead of those huge over-the-top places. This was the best Portuguese food we had and the ambiance and service was amazing. They have a few different spots so depending on availability, you may be down the street from their original location but it's all the same. I had the seafood rice and it was AMAZING! Everybody at the table enjoyed their food as well. My husband had the sea bass which was excellent but a lot of work since it was a whole fish, but it DID slow down his eating. We had the braised tuna to start and that was delicious too. Dessert looked simple (it's cake in a jar), but the strawberry cheesecake one was the best!
This place was highly recommended but for food that was just okay and service that was... not great... I'd skip it. We showed up two hours before they closed and they told us the bar and kitchen wanted to leave so we had to order fast, they definitely were rushing us and made us feel unwelcome, even though more people came in after us. Beware, they also charged us for a bottle of wine we did not get and weren't too happy when we said something about it. The seafood rice was the star of the meal, unfortunately everything else was just okay.

One of the best meals we had in Lisbon. Everything was delicious, I enjoyed the grilled sea bass. The fish was tender and very flavorful. My husband enjoyed his tiger prawns. The pasta was seasoned lightly but it was so flavorful I couldn't stop eating eat. Then the steak came afterward and my husband and I shared this. Again, it was just simply superb. The climb up to find this restaurant was worth it. It became one of our favorite restaurants we encountered in Lisbon. We will definitely come back to revisit Lisbon and Duque! read more

This was an unforgettable dinning experience. We have been in Lisbon for a few days and decided to try this restaurant based solely on yelp reviews. I must say we were not disappointed. Our server Paulo (please excuse my spelling) was very friendly and helpful. My sister chose the Baked Octopus and I chose the Lamb Chops with Garlic Cilantro Rice. My meal was exquisite. It was succulent, tender abd perfectly seasoned. This might have been the best lamb chops I have had. My sister loved her Octopus and devoured the meal in no time. The ambiance was so warm and inviting. We sat there long after finishing our meal just basking in the inviting atmosphere. If you are in Lisbon any time soon, you must try this restaurant. read more

Do not leave Lisbon without stopping in Duque. The food here is amazing. We ordered the lamb chops, octopus, ceviche and cod croquets. Everything was absolutely delicious. Both entrees were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ambience was wonderful, the music was soothing and our server Paolo was very attentive. I highly recommend giving Duque a try. It is the best meal I have had so far on my trip to Lisbon Portugal read more

It was amazing and the service was great. We got there right when it opened at 6:00 so we did not need a reservation. I had the steak while my wife had the salmon and the best cider. We met several people who said things one of their go-to places when they are in Lisbon. read more
This restaurant is on the small side, but they have another location down the street? I saw the host take some people there. We didn't have reservations, but were able to snag a seat by the entrance. They have sardine cans and brown paper with drawings on them as decor. My friend got a glass of wine and a beer while I opted for a lemonade. She also ordered some olives to snack on. For entrees, we shared the arroz do Mar and polvo assado no forno. I believe this spot won some awards. The food was pretty good! There was plenty of seafood in our dish and the octopus dish had good flavor. It was a good thing they take credit cards because we were low on cash! read more
My husband and I came here a few months ago. It was a fantastic meal, but I left unsatisfied - because although I was happy with my seafood dish, I had one bite of my husband's duck leg and was in heaven. I knew right away that we would have to come back the next time we were in Lisbon, which luckily was just a few days ago. I was thrilled that they still had the duck leg on the menu. We came with my parents this time, who both ordered the confit duck leg after hearing me rave about it. The duck was just as delicious as I had remembered, and I finally got to satisfy the craving I had had for 3 months! Hopefully we'll be in Lisbon again before too long so I can get my duck fix again! read more
The place is small, and you'll need reservations. The staff was very nice and attentive. We ordered two glasses of the house wine. My wife got a rose, and I got a red. I liked hers better. I also liked her salmon better than my duck. The duck was cooked nicely, but I would have liked more sauce because it was a little bland. The rice was very flavorful. My wife salmon was also cooked perfectly and I thought it was a better dish. We were seated near the back of the restaurant and it got hot since it was small and crowded. Although it was more private, I think I would have rather sat near the open door, for airflow. Probably should be three and a half stars. read more

I loved this dish. I only tried the sea rice but the portion is good enough to share between two not very hungry people. The rice is a little bit sour with some tang but it felt light and citrusy as well. The seafood was in good amount. Service was quick and tourist friendly. The restaurant felt cozy and welcoming. The walk up to this restaurant was also interesting with steps and vintage shops along the way. read more

First night in Lisboa, and this restaurant was rated on multiple sites as one of the best. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals: seafood rice, lamb chops, grilled fish, and duck. The appetizers were equally good: loved the cigars, warm giat cheese rolled in phyllo dough with balsamic drizzle, prawns, marinated olives. read more
I did not have reservations, but since I only had a party of two, I think it was easier to seat us as walk-in. We arrived at 8 ish and the guy told us to come back at 9 pm. We were back earlier and he seated us as soon as there was an open table. Despite it being by the door, we had a great experience. Since we waited outside for a while, we already checked out the menu and ordered right away. Camarão Tigre 22€ - grilled tiger prawn with mango rice. The prawn was indeed large, which they cut in half. It was like eating a lobster, very meaty. The rice was too sweet for my eating partner's preference. Price 20€ on the menu was crossed out and 22€ was written instead. Polvo Assado no forno 16€ - oven roasted octopus. This is a dish I would order again. The octopus was so good. The caramelized onions and sweet potato made it sweet. Too much olive oil imo tho. Costelata de borrego 16€ - lamb chop with tomato polenta. Lamb was not bad, but I had really good lamb in San Diego too recently. It didn't compare. The tomato polenta was also a bit odd for me. Beer €5 I would come back to try the sea rice, which looks amazing in photos, and the "petiscos". Service was good and location is easy to find. read more

this was our last meal in Lisbon, and i'm glad we came here. We came here on a Saturday, and it opens up at 6PM. We arrived early since we didn't have reservations, but they told us the cooks were not ready yet, so we just wandered around and came back at 6pm. We wanted to end the last night in lisbon right, so we ordered a bottle of red wine. We also got some appetizers (bread with olives, croquette and octopus salad). As for the main entrée, we ended up getting the grilled octopus and the seafood rice. Everything was amazing and delicious. The seafood rice was very good, and packed full of different types of seafood. This place is very cozy and the service was good. This is what i miss most about europe, since a lot of places have limited seating, but have a homey feeling to it. Keep in mind, this place has multiple locations on the same street... not sure what the differences are, but the one we went to was located at the corner of the street. read more

There's about 3 Duque restaurants in the same block. The one we went had very nice exposed brick charm. I love the canned sardine artwork on the wall I forgot to take pics. Service is very nice, the food was amazing. The rice with seafood ( not to be confused with paella) was amazing. The ceviche bacalao was different, but very good, in Portugal I pounded there's 365 recipes of bacalhau! And this was amazing ! and a drink, of course is refreshing. It was a great find. Apparently they have live Fado Also during the week. Give this place a try you be happy you did! read more
A tiny restaurant on top of some serious stairs. I made a reservation for 4 for lunch. We got calms, grilled salmon, grilled tiger prawns, and sea rice. Other than the grilled salmon, which my kids loved, everything else was overly salty, flavorful but salty. Hence the 4 star. Service was prompt and friendly. Nothing to complain there. read more

Restaurante Duque was amazing. We had reservations but got there 20 minutes late. The place is hidden and we passed it up a couple times. I called and a server came outside and flagged me down. Hidden gem! We had a great time and enjoyed the Fado show very much. The place is quite small but it felt cozy and inviting. Everyone joined in with the singers. We had some tapas and cocktails that were delicious. I highly recommend Duque. read more

We stopped in for a late afternoon lunch and everything was fresh and delicious as well as reasonably priced. Ordered the Mussels and Ceviche as appetizers, along with olives and fresh-out-of-the oven bread( to soak in the mussel's broth-Wow!) Had the Tiger Prawns with black squid ink pasta, and Sea Rice for main courses and they were both incredibly tasty and filling portions. Very small restaurant but we only waited a couple of minutes to be seated as it was 2pm. read more
Looking at the other reviews, it may have been a mistake that we didn't order any seafood from Restaurante Duque. After having seafood for three days in a row, we were craving some meat. We had the Iberian Pork Cheek and Lamb Chops. Both were really great along with the sides, but there could have been some room for improvement in terms of flavor and texture (the pork cheeks were a bit tough). The dessert was not good at all. Our food here did not blow me away by any means, but I did enjoy trying the Pinta Negra wine. read more

We were able to be seated although we didn't have reservations. Thank you! We came for an early dinner. The restaurant is quaint. Good vibes for sure!!!! Great and attentive service. For appetizers, ordered the olive plate with olives, cheese and olive oil. Soooo good, especially the cheese. For the main dish, I ordered the cod fish, and my friend ordered the steak. The cod was a tad overcooked and dry. The steak was okay. Maybe I'll have better luck ordering other things. read more

Came here for our first dinner in Lisbon. We were over 20 minutes late for our reservation but they still accommodated us. Each dining room is small but they have 3 restaurant rooms located on the same block. Server was friendly and even gave us a free shot at the end. The house green wine on tap was refreshing and tasty. Lamb chops were cooked nicely and packed with flavor but chewy. The octopus was tender and perfectly cooked. Prices were very reasonable. 4.5 stars What a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, so it can feel cramped with all the tables occupied, which will be the case. I had the Hotel make reservations as a precaution, and I'm glad I did. This place gets packed, but tables were turned over quickly. We ordered: Mushroom Risotto, Grilled Sea Bass, and the Bread and Olive Oil Vinegar thing. The food here is excellent. Probably the best mushroom risotto I've ever had. Plenty of menus in a variety of languages and decent enough house wine. read more
Cute place with delicious Seafood! It was our last night in Lisbon, and we wanted to try a new place outside our neighborhood. I did a short search online and came up with Restaurante Duque, which was within walking distance from where we were. After climbing some stairs and a few hills, we arrived at the address listed online, but then they asked us to follow them a few doors down the alley after assuring us that they had a second location a few doors down! The restaurant is small but very cute and pleasant. What struck me was the average age of the crew there, including the kitchen staff. We started with Caldo Verde soup, White Fish Ceviche, and a couple of glasses of wine. We ordered Sea Rice and grilled Sea Bass for the main course. Everything was delicious, and the young crew was on top of their game. We had a good dining experience and rolled down the hills into our beds! read more

Highly recommend this restaurant! The seafood rice and octopus were amazing. The rice especially had a lot of seafood. They also kept our wine cold with a wine ice pack! We also tried their three fish dish; the salmon on it was amazing (wish we could have just ordered the salmon). Make sure to make a reservation using Google maps. read more

Went to Duque for dinner on May 5 2025. My wife likes the ceviche. Octopus is good but not as good as the one we had in Madrid. The Tiger Shrimp is ok, nothing special. Pork cheek came out delicious. Small restaurant - space is very tight. I would rate it above average. It just does not have the WOW factor read more
