The place is super quaint on the outside and contemporary on the inside. Minimalist, clean. The goods: I purchased a few truffles as well as a bar and some 'fish'. The truffles are sinfully delicious and offered in a variety of flavours, and you can select milk or dark varieties, depending on your preference. We also got soft serve cones dipped in dark chocolate. Holy crap. The ice cream was great but the chocolate dip was to die for. It was quite thick (I prefer a little thinner but I won't complain about too much chocolatey goodness). I got a small cone but it was still quite generous so I think their regular size must be quite big! Service: Good Price point: On par with other chocolatiers. Anywhere. First, the fries tasted fresh, crispy, and were Goldilocks-sized (not too thin, not too thick). Second, cheese curds, and lots of it! Third, the gravy was really well done, and you can't have great poutine without getting the gravy right. It had a rich (but not too rich) flavour to it, and a nice viscosity. And finally, fourth, the portions were generous! I had the classic poutine, but they had the usual varieties you see in this region, including smoked meat and shrimp (crevettes). They also had the usual diner offerings you'd expect, but, like, whatever, just get the poutine. :)

I received my tenderloin clam strips, and brought them home, and put them on a plate,and noticed that there was a lot of small pieces. I'd say 90% of them were small pieces and 10% longer strips. They were cooked just right, and they tasted delicious. They came with two small cups of tartar sauce and two and wet naps. I had only eaten a few tenderloins because,I felt a little frustrated trying to put them on a fork, so I gave the clams to my husband. They were very professional when it came to service at taking my order at the window. They were very courteous and they gave me my number for when my order came up. It wasn't too long they called my number, and I noticed that there was a little drawing on the outside of my bag. One of the girls drew a picture of flowers on the bag. I thought it was sweet! I said, " You made my day, Thank you". I gave them a three only due to what I received today. I'll be back to try different items . I've always heard great things about Tastee-freez. I have to give HIGH honors to their maple soft serve and their milk chocolate AND salted caramel chocolate coatings. Also here's a tip to get more chocolate: ask for your soft serve in a bowl, but ask for the size ice cream you want in a cup one size UP. This allows the soft serve to be fully coated with chocolate. If you don't want to ask for a cup, you can also ask for your cone double dipped.

At the restaurant, the chef (I believe it was the chef) came over to say that "looks like you were able to get a reservation" bc I had put my name on the waiting list. So do no that if you want to drink alcohol here that it's Bring Your Own Wine. The staff wasn't sure if we knew since we weren't locals and I think the chef offered us beer that he got for us. That was so nice but my husband didn't want to drink as he wanted to make sure he would be okay to drive and then make sure I'm ok because of my injured foot he declined. But we hope they were not offended. We had really appreciated the gesture! Now on to the food. It was AMAZING and so delicious! The presentation was absolutely beautiful. The flavors were well balanced. The food was very fresh. We even tried the snails -- that was interesting :) My husband has eaten snails before but it was my first time. The portions are immense, so either make sure you're super hungry or sharing with someone else. The fries are spot-on cooked to perfection, the gravy is just right (not too salty, not too liquidy) and of course the best part is the fresh squeaky cheese curds! And they are not shy about how much of this yummy white cheese they put on the portions. If you have never had a real poutine made with real squeaky cheese curds, then you're just plain missing out. We opted for the original creation, altho this location does offer alllllll kinds of poutine creations. My brother is a big guy (6'4") and a big eater, but he could barely finish his large order. He lives in Western Canada and stated that "they don't know what they're doing out there!" after eating this traditional Quebecoise poutine! I had a small and it was just right for my appetite. The eat-in space is small but cozy and not meant for a lengthy stay. The area is kept clean and tidy. Parking is okay, but can be sparse since the adjoined parking lot is small-ish. Good thing they offer drive-thru service, which our family use and prefer. Their feedback is that this mode of take away is always fast, friendly and delicious. Wheelchair accessible spaces. Bathroom is clean. Kudos to the VERY kind and VERY efficient team members who were working when we popped into the resto. They were willing to try their best at speaking English with my brother.
