The whole place is Buffet for vegan food. there was a variety of tofu flavor which was really good. The charge you by the weight of plate so be careful do not make a mistake like I did. My plate cost me $28 LOL.

Great variety at the buffet, with very reasonable pricing! A must stop for vegans and vegetarians in Montreal!

Nothing looked particularly inviting on St Denis on this day besides this place so decided to give it a shot. The inside is clean and looks like they have wifi since there were a lot of people on laptops. Friendly service too. I tried their soy meat wrap, raspberry brownie and raisin chocolate chip cookie. I'm not a vegetarian but the soy meat actually tasted like real meat (chicken). It was good, nothing outstanding but still good! Their baked goods were pretty satisfying and heavy. I couldn't eat both of them in one seating. Fair prices too.

    Super yummy vegan feast.

Vego was my dream come true once we arrived in Montreal. Vegan and vegetarians of the world, rejoice! They have a buffet style, with signs that show the vegan and vegetarians options. Everything was very tasty, fresh and appetizing. And because you pay by the weight, most likely you'll ended up over eating. But it's all good. Guilty free it's my motto since I call myself a vegan.

As a non-veg I was quite satisfied with Resto Végo, the food was good and the options grand. This is a buffet style restaurant so I had the opportunity to taste many of the various dishes offered here. The food was delicious, the chilli was flavourful, the pasta seasoned well and the vegetables were finely prepared. I'm an amateur when it comes to strictly vegetarian and vegan dishes but if more restaurants served food like this, it would make the idea of being a vegetarian or a vegan much easier. My vegan friend was delighted with the variety available and thoroughly enjoyed his full plate. The food was very filling and neither one of us were able to finish. The restaurant itself is quite comfortable, it carries a very welcoming and green vibe. The staff was kind and the environment clean.

We chose two grilled sandwiches from the glass case next to the till. They were...absolutely delicious! No boring tempeh, tofu, or veggie paté taste. Both sandwiches were just perfectly balanced, with intensive flavors and crispy bread. On the side I had a little bowl with beetroot-pear and creamy potato salad which were also both really well prepared. We only realized there was a whole buffet in the back of the restaurant once we saw other people coming out with fully loaded plates. We'll know what to do next time.

    Maple tempeh sandwich. Really good.

Very good vegan food for a very good price. There is vegan everything. The sandwichs and wraps are amazing and the Chia pudding is great too. Will definetly go again. If your looking for good vegan food, look no further. Everything is good.

From the buffet! This whole plate was about 16$ Ended being a LOT of food for me :) can't help but get carried away

I don't have a gluten allergy, but my travel companion does, and we ended up coming here every morning during our stay in Montréal. The croissants are incredibly buttery (made with margarine, so they're dairy-free too), light, and perfectly flaky. We also tried a few other pastries like the chocolatine and danishes, which were just as delicious. They sell their pastries frozen as well, and I bought half a dozen croissants to bring back home. The family who runs Parc sans Gluten was warm and welcoming each time we visited. This place is a true gem and whether you're gluten-free or not, it's worth a stop.

I'd never had the French Canadian heart-attack-on-a-plate, and was a little nervous as it just looks like it has A LOT going on. I sludged into La Banquise dead sober at 4:11am, as this is a legendary spot that is open 24 hours. I sat down in a bustling no frills atmosphere and remembered my deep appreciation for a 24-hour diner. You see people for who they really are this early in the morning. A couple in front of me was in a heated argument about what "being exclusive" really meant, while two separate groups of 4 to my right were feeling no pain and enjoying a poutine night cap. There I was, sipping on my black coffee mentally prepping myself for the 45 mile (72 km) day I had in front of me. The dichotomy of life. I asked the server what the most popular item was, and he said La Scooby. This monstrosity consisted of fresh cut fries, cheese, gravy, ground beef, bacon, onions, fried pickles, and caesar dressing garlic sauce. I got the small ($12.40 usd), but this thing was a TANK. It was bigger than my head and I have a HUGE head. The large must be a family style portion or somethin. Upon first bite, it was damn good. I completely see the poutine appeal. Is it an ideal meal dead sober at 4:11am? No, absolutely not, but this is an S-tier hangover food. Also, if there is ever a day when I need some extra calories, it's on a 100k step day. All the staff was so welcoming, and surprisingly chipper this early in the morning. SHOUTOUT TO LA BANQUISE! THANK YOU FOR FUELING THE JOURNEY! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

Not accessible. I had a very hard time moving around the restaurant with my crutches, especially…read morewith the stairs. I took my niece from New York City here because La Banquise is supposed to be the "must try" poutine spot in Montreal. We had a great night overall: soccer game, drinks at Mellon Brasserie (none of us were drunk; my wife was 100% sober). Everything was fun and chill. But La Banquise completely ruined the end of that trip, and I'm not okay with letting this go. We paid for the food and service. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: at the end of the day, we were customers, and we deserved to be treated with respect. We waited for our Uber outside. It was cold, and I'm on crutches, so my injuries hurt badly in the cold. After waiting outside for a long time with the Uber not showing up, we went back inside to wait near the door, in the corner, not blocking anyone. The staff at the door immediately came in and started rudely and aggressively kicking us out. He refused to speak English with me after I clearly said, "I don't speak French, so talk to me in English." He kept talking French and was rude to my wife, my niece, and me. He told the waitress in French that we were "blocking the way," which was 100% false. (My wife speaks French) We were just standing near the entrance, waiting for a few minutes, trying to get out of the cold. When I went to the cashier and explained, "This guy is kicking me out. I just paid for my meal. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: you're still a customer, and you shouldn't be kicked out and treated like trash just because you're waiting for your Uber on crutches. I'm on crutches, it's cold, and my Uber isn't here yet," they called a waitress who also started telling us to leave instead of helping. She didn't try to find a solution; she just said, "No, no, leave, leave." This is not just bad service. This is disgusting, disrespectful treatment of a paying customer with a mobility issue. My niece, who had a blast all night, ended the trip saying, "What the f....? You bring me here and they treat us like this?" She now has a bad impression of Montreal because of this place. My niece is from New York City, and she's also posting her own review. That review will be seen by people in New York and by tourists looking for recommendations. If you treat tourists like this, you're not just ruining one night, you're ruining the image of the whole city. Montreal is supposed to be a welcoming city for tourists and people looking to have fun and be treated with respect. La Banquise failed that completely. The food was okay, but the experience was terrible because of how we were treated. This is unacceptable. You should be ashamed of how you handled this.
