After an hour or so, I was informed the snake was getting stuck, and he had to call a camera guy in. Camera guy informs me that tree roots have damaged my line and a 30' section needs to be replaced to the tune of over 9k. I called a small local company for a second opinion. It wasn't tree roots - the line itself was broken and everything was draining into the dirt, hence the backflow when there was more water than could be quickly absorbed. They recommended the same amount of line be replaced, but for half the price.

During the course of my walkthrough with the insurance agent, one of the Servicemaster employees started yelling and using profanity at the homeowner accusing him of tampering with their equipment. They were there for two whole weeks while completely sealing off the kitchen and making it unusable for that time. After consulting United Water Restoration, their professional opinion was that Servicemaster was there about a week too long, charging the insurance company roughly $300/day. They have fed off the teat of the Insurance companies too long not respecting people's homes or property. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! YOU HAVE A CHOICE, EVEN IF THE INSURANCE COMPANY CONTRACTS THEM. FIRE THEM IMMEDIATELY AND HIRE A NEW COMPANY. The homeowner also told me that when TOXIC MOLD was discovered in the house they had him handle boxes with mold on them. This company is so lazy they asked the homeowner for help and didnt inform him of the dangers of the mold and didnt even give him gloves! He was sick shortly after and even went to the emergency room. We will be filing with the BBB on this company as it is HEALTH HAZARD to have this company in your house!

Literally a few hours after we closed the deal, the home buyer noticed the leak coming from an exterior soffit underneath the kitchen sink and dishwasher. The seller had replaced the dishwasher but his nephew failed to secure the water line connection. The connection had been slowly leaking for several weeks where no one was able to detect it. Jeremy with Service Master arrived several minutes early for the appointment, quickly identified the issue and had answers for the buyer and I in a matter of 15-20 minutes. He tested moisture levels in the areas where the leak had run from the dishwasher to the exterior of the home and informed us of safe vs potentially harmful moisture levels in regards to potential mold growth in different building materials. He then gave us advice on how to address borderline levels and what to do if the issue comes back and/or gets worse. The best part of this whole experience is that it didn't cost my client a dime! Three minutes later, multiple confirmations via text and email were sent to verify that the address and time selected were correct. The plumber arrived about 45 minutes after the time window opened. We asked for shoe covers, which he put on. (That has not been our experience, even when we insist.) He confirmed our suspicion that the tank needed to be replaced. After a brief outing, he came back with parts. Our original estimate was $379, but there needed to be a support bracket, which he strongly recommended that he add. (Our old one was hanging unassisted parallel to the ground.) The final total was under $500, including tax. Other than some crumbs of pipe dope, there was no mess. So far, everything is working well. After four days, there have been no leaks and no other effects on our household that we can tell.
