I grew tired of going to crappy franchise barber shops for a cheap buck, only to be met with disappointing elementary-level haircuts. So, I came to Restoration Barber Shop. Before I review, let me provide a backstory on the frustration that is the hair on my head... I have super-fine hair that does not stay in any orientation without an absurd amount of hair gel that makes it look like my head belongs in the Maddame Toussauds wax museum. That is, where I do still have hair, because I've been cursed with a thinning hairline right through the middle of my head. If you flip down to my chin, you'll find a wiry beard that does not grow down... it grows out. So my beard and mustache grow into a full Captain Ahab hobo beard which I can't grow out without trimming the sides to give the appearance that it grows down. Even with that effort to trim the sides, the beard hair doesn't grow evenly, resembling a patchy fake beard a 16 yr old would glue to his face to try and buy beer. So I've suffered with my awful hair genes for the past three decades of my life, and finally I decided to find a more custom, higher end hair salon to try and get a professional opinion on how I can cut my hair and trim my beard in a manner that does not make me look like I spend my days smoking a corn cob pipe on a pier, staring into the foggy sea lamenting how close I came to catching that blasted white whale. Enter: Restoration Barber Shop. I ended up having an appointment with Leah, who politely and professionally listnened to me complain about my follicularly challenged life. She then talked me through an option of trimming the sides up such that the hair that is still on my head can fill in the gaps coming up from my forehead. About 30 minutes later, my hair looks actually trendy and reasonable for the first time in my life. I also got a beard trim to clean up the disaster on my face that I tried to trim myself in the mirror, because apparently someone thought it was a good idea to sell me a beard trimmer without proper training and licensing. In just over a half hour, I went from looking like I was floating on a raft in the middle of the ocean with my friend Wilson whom I fashioned out of a bloody volleyball... to looking like a classy gentleman, pocket watch on my vest and pearl-handled revolver on my hip, sipping a fine whiskey and taking a pull from a big cigar before doubling down on a hand in a high stakes poker. Needless to say, I pre-scheduled repeat appointments with Leah. Because I need her to repeat whatever voodoo she did to my hair. Aside from that, the shop is clean, professional, and comfortable. The owners clearly care about providing a clean, high-end atmosphere that runs opposite the "get your hair cut and get the hell out" vibe of most franchise chain salons. The appointment booking system is intuitive and easy to use. The only downside I would say is that they are cash-only, where it would be more convenient for them to accept cards. But, at this point, that's a bit like complaining that there weren't enough chocolate chips in your ice cream, so I'm not about to be a choosing beggar and remove any stars from my review. read more

This was my 1st time visiting this barber shop. It is minutes away from my work. Very convenient. Dave one of the barbers here had a last minute cancellation and fit me in immediately. Online it says that they take card , after I got my cut they told me that it was cash only despite that I used the atm they had and payed $30 for a bad haircut. The barber that I had took way to much of for my liking even though I stated that I only wanted half a inch off the top I revived over a inch, not to mention the sides were cut way to short and the fade was uneven. I asked for a lineup aswell and just got more hair taken off instead, the place looks great and but it comes down to the cut itself and that's where I was disappointed. read more
