Restoration Hardware - Dawsonville This was a nice furniture outlet to visit and shop for different styles of fine craftsmanship. Years ago, they used to be closer to the outdoor outlet stores. Now that they've expanded, they moved to a bigger and nicer location... still close by the outlet stores. This location now, focuses more on furniture. I do remember and miss them having variety. They used to have large selection of lighting fixtures, utensils, bath mats, towels and more. This newer location is still nice. Found a wonderful couch about a year ago, it's the favorite seat in our house. It is a bit of a matter of patience, we waited a month for the price to come down and we got it for a thousand less than the price we saw on our first visit. Many items in the outlet still seem pretty overpriced for an outlet location, but the longer that items are there, they will bring the prices down. read more

I made a trip to RH outlet, PB, Williams Sonoma, West Elm, FrontGate and Ballard Designs all in one trip to Dawsonville and Roswell. I was looking for a large piece of furniture that they all carry. By far, the Restoration Hardware Outlet was the most pleasant to shop at. The store was pristine, organized and laid out with like things together. It was easy to walk around with large aisles. Best part was the customer service. The staff were not pushy but asked me if I needed help. Then proceeded to spend 20 min with me, helping me piece together what I was looking for, giving design and trend advice. Just delightful. The PB outlet was a complete disaster, especially in the back where the furniture is. Aisles so narrow, you can't get through plus merchandise thrown every which way. I've been to this store many times over the years and never seen it so messy. It was not just a one off, things have been like this at this store for the past two years. Most items were broken or dirty and not useful or should be for sale or even donation. Just tossed. The front of the store had new outlet store items and was ok. Staff is usually helpful if you need them. I strolled through the Williams Sonoma outlet and sadly they no longer carry much of any furniture from Williams Sonoma Home. Just a few random chairs. Returns on Duvets. Store is orderly and friendly staff. West Elm is ok. I enjoy looking at the items online, the style is always fresh mcm and for a younger clientele. However looking at the furniture up close is a disappointment in the quality. It's similar to when you go to Ikea. You love the style but up close, the merch feels like it will only last a few years. But the prices are much higher than Ikea, making it difficult to justify. Frontgate /Grandin Road Outlet is now combined and is a true outlet. I love true outlets. FrontGate has gotten very expensive like RH over the years. The outlet has some great 50% off finds. Some of it being damaged but fixable. Other items are 20% off their usual catalogue. Quality is usually very good. I have been a loyal FrontGate Outlet customer over the years. I used to hire staffing for outlet stores in Chicago and know it's difficult to find the right person who can manage all the items coming in, theft and a demanding customer. It's usually a pretty tough person. Somehow Front Gate outlet has found the tough but not the friendly managers. I am talking MEAN and RUDE. The main manager with the gray bun is always , out right rude. I try to avoid her. One time she screamed at me once across the store, telling me to wear my mask. I was 300 feet away from any person in a large store with only one other customer. I have asthma and can't breathe properly through a mask so I pulled it down when away from people. I do comply but it was at my chin because no one was nearby. When asking for help, no one could be more rude and make you just want to leave the store. Like the Soup Nazi. FrontGate, you are a high end store, you can do much better with your managers and staffing. You have the best staff at your sister store nearby at the Ballard Design Outlet. Learn from them. Or do better training. Ballard Design Outlet is also a great outlet. I rarely find what I need but it's fun to look. A true outlet too. Great product and always the nicest customer service. I see them moving merchandise out in droves. It's pretty crammed, I think they need more square footage. It's an active store. A+ and worth a stroll through. read more

Used to love this store/location. Have purchased several large items here a year or more ago. It was always an outlet price (slightly lower than normal RH prices) then there would always be an additional % off.... this made it totally worth it when they happen to have an item you wanted and it was a 40% week or month. The items are as is, and sometimes you get little dents and dings, but it's an outlet. Now, their new price model is a set amount off and no additional percentage or sales... they say it is better than before, but that's absolutely not true. I saw several of the items I previously purchased in the store today and all were significantly higher than what I had paid. In addition, the quality of the items they have in the store is pretty crappy. Very very damaged and new prices definitely don't align with what you get. Very disappointed in this store. We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and are on a tight budget. We decided to drive 3.5 hours to the outlets in Dawsonville, GA to do some Christmas shopping. We always look forward to going to RH. We walked in and low and behold, there was a marble island top that was destined to be the center focal point of our new kitchen. We decided to pull the trigger but would need to come back after Christmas to pick it up. We had cash in hand ready to purchase the top but the management said it was against store policy to sell something and hold it more than a day because they didn't have room to store it. Here's an idea... Leave it laying right where it is with a tag on it that says sold!!! This is the most ignorant thing I've ever experienced. A store that refuses to take a customer's money and work out the details to make that customer happy. I have walked into my last Restoration Hardware. The new RH Outlet in Dawsonville is 30,000 square feet of beautiful RH furniture, rugs, lighting, mirrors and accessories. Since we live 4 hours from the store, I called ahead last month to see if what we needed might be in stock. Meagan helped me on the phone understand what was there, since we needed furniture for an entire small apt. By the time I arrived 2 days later, on a Sunday, those items had sold. Saturday is a busy sales day. But the visit was not wasted; Diane showed me around and offered assistance. it took one visit just to take it all in. So I repeated the process a month later. Meagan communicated what they had in stock from my list, over the phone. Call the evening before you go and confirm items are still there. I did this and Ty assured me the items were still there. I traveled on a Friday the 2nd time. Meagan was working that day, and she was fantastic. She was knowledgeable about each piece, gave great advice and sincerely wanted me to find what we needed. Meagan took great care as we checked out to review each item purchased and any small flaws, if applicable. Joseph advised on how I should plan to pick up the items, since there was no delivery to my neighboring state. When we returned with a rental truck for pick up, Joseph coordinated the process. Melanie assisted me with an additional purchase. Everyone is extremely professional and I enjoyed working with them. It was a process and well worth the investment of time and energy to have such lovely items at one-half price. I give them 5 stars. read more

I find it comical whenever I get on Yelp to hear people complain about blatantly obvious things. Two people below complained about resto being "overpriced." Well allow me to state the completely obvious, it's quality, upscale design (most often oversized) and made extremely well. To "dewayne" - I almost laughed hearing you state that the items were junk, had it not been for me realizing you were actually serious. Restoration hardware materials are made to last. I've had a granite coffee table, sleeper sofa amongst many other items that have been worn on for years. They are still in the same condition as I bought them. I think clowns below just write these things because it's out of their pay grade and they're not used paying the extra bit for something made to last. You can go spend 2000 at Ashley furniture for pine wood basings or you can try to catch a great deal at this outlet for 3k and get something that'll last triple the time and not look as tacky. These comparisons are the same as saying you're fine with those 100$ pair of Kenneth Cole shoes you bought at dsw you replace every year or two vs. the 700$ pair of Italian leather loafers I've had for 10 and just keep resoling and getting better with age. I LOVE this place and they're dog-friendly! Staff are so kind here! They are also very helpful. I have to admit, I was getting overwhelmed with all the choices but they help you with the decision-making process. I needed a coffee table and they helped me pick one based on lifestyle (we like to play board games), sofa size, living room size, and just general layout. Every time we come back, we always feel welcomed and I don't see that at other furniture stores. I've gone to so many furniture stores but staff always seem clueless about the things they're selling and just rude. At RH, I've never felt that. Staff are always knowledgeable and just incredibly kind. Most of the one star reviews are complaining about prices and policies, but those are their prices & policies, they're very upfront about it. It's an outlet, they make it very clear about their return policies. It also seems silly to write a review about a luxury brand complaining about their standard prices. Go somewhere else? I ended up buying a sofa, coffee table, and dining table from here. I'm definitely going back for more. read more

Restoration Hardware has gorgeous, extremely expensive home furnishings - and at the outlet, you can get the gorgeous for less expensive. Is it going to cost what furnishings at Rooms for Less or Ikea would cost? No. But there are still amazing deals to be had. Always staffed by extremely friendly, knowledgeable folks, this place is a pleasure to visit. If there is an item that you know you want, you can ask the staff to put you on their "preferred" list and they will call you when it arrives (hint: furniture trucks arrive Tuesday and Thursday of most weeks). You can even pre-buy items that you're sure you want (they don't hold things). They'll send you photos of the item, you sign an acknowledgement that these items are not pristine and there are no returns, and then they'll take your credit card on the spot. Best of all, they have local deliverers that will deliver that 108" sofa that didn't fit in the back of your Fiat 500 to Atlanta for less than $100 (circa August 2013, I believe it was $79) read more

Completely agree with the below pay grade comment. It is sort of a sticker shock but most people are coming in expecting to get something for nothing. We have bought at least 10 big items from here. There's a lot of items that try to replicate the look of RH. I made the mistake of buying an imitation from Ballard's. Ballard's is truly what some of these comments say, expensive particle board or pine wood furniture. RH is not. When buying RH you can expect many years of functionality and performance. I would imagine a handy person could probably salvage them. - Crowded if you roll in during peek hours. - Prices are still pretty high, but we're talking about high-end furniture, so this is to be expected. - It's an outlet. They don't carry everything. Go with your measurements and dreamboards and wallet, ready to make a purchase on the spot. Upsides: - Great deals to be found. If you love Restoration Hardware, but can't manage the prices, this is a great option. We purchased most of the furniture for my son's nursery here. We found a dresser that we love love love. It was "damaged" meaning, the bottom leg had a slight nick on the back. I couldn't even find it now if I tried. And we paid around $300. - Great sales if you go on holiday weekends. Only if people knew how RH treat their delivery employees they'll probably be disgusted and never buy from them again, the pay is very unfair for all the heavy lifting and back breaking furniture you guys have,we have to be at warehouse 5am and if we don't have your shirt on a hanger we will not be let in to work. You guys want us to dress all black treat us military style, we can't even have a little bracelet on cause you guys don't want us to have anything on.remind you they charge us to give us uniforms,we can't wear hats to keep the sweat rolling down to our eyes, we try to deliver happiness everyday to every single customer but you guys treat us very unfair, want to treat us like military when you guys have a mess your self in the warehouse, things get loaded on our trucks most of the time for them to tell us we have you the wrong route, we have to unload the truck to loaded back up cause of their mistake and mind you if you get home super late when they give you many deliveries there's no extra pay, you would just get payed for the day doesn't matter if you work from 5am to 10pm you're not getting anymore money from them. I'd looked through the Restoration Hardware "outlet" every time I'd visited the outlets, and was shocked at the expense of "outlet" prices. But like all places that rely on less than perfect items from their retail stores and returned catalog items, the supply is highly variable. They've got furniture and accessories, with the deepest discounts on the furniture. During our last trip to the outlets in June, all the looking and hoping finally paid off. We found a bed. A nice hardwood grown up bed. You see, I'd been asking for a nice bed throughout our entire 4.5 years of marriage, as opposed to the bed rails on the mattresses that made it look like we were non-committal college kids or like I'd just moved into J's bachelor pad. And here was finally this gorgeous bed that retailed for $2200 marked down to $695. I was sure there was some kind of catch (the other furniture store outlet across the street doesn't deal with the delivery, so their discounts end up being not all that great once you deal with that headache), but the helpful sales clerk said that there was another small percentage off (10-15%, but I can't remember exactly), and that delivery would only be $75. We ended up getting the bed and delivery for less than $650, which was only 30% of what we'd pay for retail and delivery. And it was delivered to our house and assembled the following Tuesday! The sales clerk was so friendly, mentioned that she had that same bed herself and loved it. She got through our paperwork quickly and even made sure to mark the set with the foot board (since there was one that was just the head board for the same price). This is my second visit to a RH outlet. Each time I found it to be disappointing. Inventory is minimal. Store lacks appearance. RH should rethink the outlet concept. Leaves a bad impression. I've visited the store a couple of times and just was not impressed with the quality of the furniture. The items just seemed like they were all floor models and not in the best condition. Prices were inflated and not justified. There are certainly better options available. We purchased close to 10 k worth of exterior teak furniture. Dining table, dining chairs, two loungers and table with cushions and pillows. We were told it would be guaranteed for life as long as we owned it. We could have purchased another teak line for half the cost but we were impressed with the warranty. 5 years later , after teak oiling twice a year all of the furniture started falling apart at the joints. We contacted RH and they said they had discontinued the style so would give us credit (about a third of what we paid) for some of dining chairs and the loungers. We thought fine. Then the dining table and the other chairs and table fell apart. We sent photos to RH as we were directed. The man who we emailed to said he had to redirect to someone else. We called and emailed several times but our contact said he doesn't know what to do if we have not heard from "the guy" who can do something about this. He would not give us direct contact Info for "the guy" that's was to handle it. just gave us the brush off about 5 times. What can you do? A good place to find a great buy. Great, true outlet prices on Restoration Hardware furniture. They have quite a bit of severely damaged pieces, so you really have to inspect the piece you want to buy. But frequently, you can find a piece that is perfect for a fraction of retail. read more

What will you say when a Customer calls the Store at store opening hr in morning and tells to the Sales Agent that "Here's my credit card number and i am buying those chairs"? Customer is ready for make the purchase -Right? Sales agent doesn't processes the order but says "let me send you the photo", customer then keep following up with the agent every 40 mins for next 2.5 hrs waiting on Sales Agent to close the deal and when finally the Customer drives 35 miles to the store to see whats really happening, Agent says - "we sold the stuff to someone else". Who is an idiot??? I don't expect an Elite store like RH to not have a common sense on how to sell to a right Customer. I hate to do that but you could avoid dealing with Sales agent-Suzan, I am sure you will have peace of mind for your purchase. read more
