Then I found this place and all the reviews were great, which made me a little suspicious. However, I discovered that these reviews for here were true. This is a no games, no funny-business place. Anna was my masseuse and did a fantastic job. She was not only respectful and professional but her technique was incredible. This was the best massage I've had in a long time. Additionally, the receptionist was sweet and friendly, and the place was very clean. I will definitely return if I'm ever in Ottawa. Enjoy!

I went to visit Dr. Wise at Wellness House this past Monday following a week of debilitating lower…read moreback pain. I waited to go because I live 60km away and I couldn't sit in the car to drive. My husband finally took me. Dr. Wise did an assessment of my situation (he knows my back - I am not new) and said that the muscles were in severe spasm and that he needed to proceed gently. He asked if he could do some deep needle acupuncture and explained how it was different than regular acupuncture. He warned me that it would hurt, but that it was the best option for the circumstances. The treatment didn't hurt nearly as much as the spasms in my back. He also taped my back and showed me a very simple stretch to do at home with a broom handle. I love the way they keep things simple so I don't have to buy additional equipment to do the exercises. He also recommended alternating heat and ice and told me I should expect some relief as the day progressed. By that evening I was feeling a great deal of relief and the spasms were settling. The next day was even better and by Wednesday I no longer needed to take pain relief. It has been 76 hours since my treatment and I am feeling MUCH better. My back is still healing so I am being careful, but I can't thank Wellness House enough for getting me in right away and for the expertise offered to me. I have had terrible experiences at other places in the past, and I refuse to go anywhere but Wellness House even though it's a long drive from home!

Staff did not make me feel comfortable at all. They did not even read through my health assessment…read moreform prior to the massage. I said that I wanted my tailbone area (lower back) worked on but didn't want my lower glutes touched, and my rmt massaged that area anyway (he was male and I'm female.) I have been to multiple other massage therapists in the city and this one was by far the least professional and least comforting.
