The contractor who remodeled my house had purchased the carpet here and I was just going to go with them again. I went in to make sure I had the correct carpet color. The lady in the shop insisted, adamantly, that I take a carpet sample home. The shop is well out of my way, but she said that I could return it to the guy who would go out to my house to measure the room prior to ordering the carpet. I spent the next 6 weeks basically harassing them into coming out to measure the room. They lost my number, they forgot to call me back, etc. Eventually I gave up on them, took care of the flooring, and forgot about it. Today, 5 months later, they called asking why I had never returned their carpet sample. They seriously jerked me around for 6 weeks when I offered them $800 worth of business, but called to track down a $5 carpet sample. She didn't just ask about it, she scolded me for not returning the carpet sample and told me I was still responsible for it, because they didn't come collect it as they were supposed to. Riiiight. This place is not worth the hassle of doing business with them.

However, the commitment was made because of the effort I had gone to to move everything necessary in preparation. I had promised he would not have to move things when I called. He made no special effort on particularly dirty areas, leaving them worse than before by smearing the soiled areas. If he was going to charge me for areas he was not going to clean, he had an opportunity to make that clear when I first contacted him. I have not changed my rating because he failed to communicate his method of charging (over-estimating areas for his financial advantage) and I feel he took advantage of my preparation and an inability to get anyone there to do the job that day. I did express concern about the extra square footage and he made no effort to explain, except to imply I had made a mistake. I did not. He failed to communicate and appropriately charge for the area cleaned. Those areas that did not need special attention were adequately cleaned, but for a company that claims to be "restoration" specialists, he fell sorely short.
