I never review places that don't sell food (feel free to check out my profile) but I just had to shout out this spot after my brother brought me here. With new games, old games, tons of rare and not-so-rare action figures, playable standup arcade games, game controllers and accessories, rare cartridge games and much more, this is a pretty outstanding spot on the Post Road. As you can see in the pics below I was greatly impressed by the selection. I don't even play video games anymore and I was absolutely blown away by the rare and hard to find stuff they had here. Honestly, I have seen a lot of this stuff on sale at game shops in NYC for much, much, much more. If you get that same dead feeling inside every time you enter a Game Stop like I do, then you will definitely want to check out this place. It was pretty packed the Saturday I was in here and everyone was just like having fun and chilling around. Also the dudes working here are really kind and really patient. Also, if you are a parent looking for a cheap gift they have awesome dollar bins for action figures here. So solid.

    An outstanding employee.

This store is absolutely flawless. I was down on my luck when it came to a repair of a video game system, not only did they help me get it repaired, but they would follow up with me about the repairs. My system now works perfectly fine today. If I ever need anything video game related I always come to this specific location. The people who work there are unbelievably professional. They know the ins and outs of video games video game accessories and all that that entails. They are warm and friendly to the customers. Going to retro games plus, has become a weekly activity for myself. This is one of those small businesses that will go above and beyond to help you. Whether it be for check out, or hang out, come here, to a place where they treat you as a friend not a piggy bank.

A wonderful retro atmosphere with old media from the 1990s and 2000s playing on TVs, with quite the rare selection of games!

It's the kind of spot where you instantly slow down just to take everything in. What really caught my eye was the collectibles. From Super Mario items to WWE figurines to Pokémon cards there's so much cool stuff to look at. Whether you're a serious collector or just someone who loves nostalgia, there's something here that'll make you say,"I remember this!" They also have walls of Funko pops, racks of dvds/blu-rays/video games, & boxes of comics. The setup is organized in the best way like a treasure hunt(heck even the games/dvds/blu-rays are in alphabetical order). You never know what you're going to find next. The staff was super chill & clearly passionate about games which wowed me even more. You can tell they actually care about what they sell & the history behind it. Overall, this store is perfect if you love classic games, rare finds,or just want to relive the good old days. I came in just to browse & left feeling like a kid again. Def a spot worth checking out if you're into retro gaming & iconic collectibles. The only complaint I have is it's kind of on the pricey side.

I was last in the nutmeg stage way back in 2022 when some friends and I drove to Manchester to check this place out, well, we should have checked the hours because it was closed and I wanted to cry. Well, now it's 2026 and a buddy of mine made sure we came on a day they were actually opened and I'm sure glad we did. This store is absolutely perfect from the first room full of arcade machines, on card action figures, and random toys to the video game room full of classics from the Dreamcast, GameCube, and even modern switch stuff. The last room here is vintage shirts and such which I didn't spend much time glancing at, but was a cool edition. It was cool seeing a place in Connecticut filled with old WWF stuff, Big Bad Beetle Borgs, Nintendo Powers, and tons and tons of figures, I wish this place was here when I lived in the area a decade ago. Overall, this is definitely one of my new favourite spots on Connecticut and definitely somewhere I'll be shopping at again on future trips. Even though I left empty handed (can only fit so much back to LA) I already look forward to coming back.

One employee attempted to pass off a repo copy of a game as legit to me, and then to top it all off, they refused to even honor their sticker price! I attempted to buy a copy of a game that had 3 different sticker prices. One for $8.49, another for $10.99 and lastly for $12.99. This is after I came in a month earlier and the game was at $4.99. I went all 3 to the register alongside a stack of other games I'm buying and explain the issue and the cashier refused to honor the price. Neither the lowest of middle, although their were quite a number of copies with the two lower prices. Apparently the price had gone up. 4 times in a month huh? I walked out, and did not purchase any of my other items either. Why ever support such a horrible small business that even give GameStop a run for its money of horrible customer service and pricing? This place really does out price everyone locally, GameStop and eBay! Con artist, who sell repo games and trash at extortion prices! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I'm including some photos here of some of the ridiculous prices! They say a picture speaks a thousand words right? $180 for a copy of Pokémon Emerald? What is Pokémon Top Secret version? You can't make this stuff up. Avoid this place and go anywhere else!

I explained to the person on the phone that I had some loose sealed Pokemon booster packs that I wanted to sell and asked if they were interested and if they buy them. They told me they would have to examine that packs in person (not an issue) in case of resealing/tampering but if the inspection went ok they would buy them. After this, I made the drive up since it seemed worth my time. Once I arrive with the packs, he tells me since they loose packs, and not in sealed boxes, that they weren't too interested (different response than the phone call) but that he would look up prices and give me an offer. Another employee showed up and immediately started saying that they automatically were to assume these 3 packs were weighed and possibly x-rayed. Keep in mind, Japanese packs cannot be weighed for "hits" as Japanese anti gambling laws make it so that every pack has to contain a hit, unlike vintage English packs where weight can give away holos/hits. So this place handles TCG's but apparently are not knowledgeable on the topic. Also, paying hundreds/thousands to x-ray 3 booster packs seems a bit ridiculous if I'm trying to sell them. As the initial guy I spoke to was looking up prices, I pulled out a slabbed PSA 4 charizard to ask if they would be interested in it as I was starting to feel my trip would be for nothing. The guy took the graded card and started shaking it constantly to show that the card was a bit loose inside the slab, it's a card from 1997 inside a slab that is over 15+ years of age so with time the card has come loose inside so it moves around a tiny bit, even though a simple wobble or slight back and fourth movement would have been enough. After this he walks to the back after telling me they would still give me an offer on the packs. Then the first guy asks me what I was looking to get for them and I mentioned that I know they have to make profit as well, so anything in the 70-80% market price range would be doable for me. He told me the most they could offer was 20% market value and that they didn't say this over the phone because they don't discuss numbers (understandable) but even a range/estimate on % would've been very reasonable as I've dealt with many shops before and never had an issue like this. He was also sure to mention that they don't discuss this over the phone so that they "dont waste their time." 20% market value for vintage packs was an absolute disrespectful offer to make me, and also a huge disrespect for a possible future customers time which they clearly don't value the same as their own time. This place felt more like a scummy pawn shop than a TCG/collectible store. I've sold, purchased and played TCGs in many shops before and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had in one. Would not recommend this place.

GameOn is owned and founded by Tristan Whitworth, who has been giving people of all ages the opportunity to relive their childhood experiences, and/or create new ones. All of the games sold here, are authentic, thoroughly tested, and reviewed so you can always count on the video games being in the best possible condition. GameOn also offers more than just games but consoles, accessories, controllers, and more. One of the recent times I went in; Tristan showed me that he received a whole bunch of promo posters from Nintendo that were unopened. I pointed out that the Banjo Kazooie poster he had, had a beta version of the character Mumbo. (Meaning the poster was worth more!!) It was awesome to see and the fact that he showed me it when I came in at a random day and time was incredible! The prices at GameOn are very fair, and trade ins are always WAY better than Gamestop who will give you pennies. GameOn gives you great rates and even greater if you vouch for in store credit. For those of you reading this looking to relive the past, or discover old but new-to-you classics, or even find consoles, accessories and more; this place is for you. One thing I was very grateful for, was that my cousin, his friend and myself produced a video game that mimics the retro style of older 2D platformers: I.E: (Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Country, etc.) and Tristan allowed us to not only bring it in for him to try it, but allow his customers to try our game and test it. As if that wasn't enough, our game was free to download, with the option of donating and let's just say Tristan donated very generously! Speaking of generous, I also had an experience, where a few years back, I came in with a trade in, and a new employee gave me a pretty low deal which I accepted, but later went home feeling duped. I don't know how, as I didn't even tell Tristan, or write review, and he wasn't in the store that day, but he actually reached out to ME, and apologized that I was shorted, and that I could have an in store credit or the option to receive more money than I reluctantly agreed to. The in store credit was more than fair, and once again GameOn proved why I love it so much; and why I want to return in the future. I shouldn't have to say this; but an owner reaching out to a customer who was shorted, apologizing and giving them a store credit/offering them more money for the price they agreed to? That is unheard of and let me tell you I was blessed and very happy he reached out to me. Overall, what makes GameOn so great is its owner: Tristan. He is an energetic, passionate and kind person who always does right by you. Tristan has also hired some awesome and dedicated employees and they are always very knowledgeable and passionate about gaming like he is! GameOn does more than just sell games; they have hosted charity events, birthdays, gatherings and more. Something worth mentioning is that GameOn has grown from one location, to three, and now even has arcades open which I would urge you to check out! All in all, Tristan has created more than just a store for selling old games, but a living community that supports all who have an interest in gaming, and offers a selection of oldies but goodies, and everything in between. By far, the best retro gaming store on the island! GameOn!
