I had the time of my life at Deep End of the Sandbox. That sounds a bit dramatic, but it's the truth. I laughed, I cried, it was better than CATS! I walked in a saw a thousand things I wanted instantly. Vintage and retro items from the 50's to 90's are spread in fun arrangements and sections throughout the store. Toys, posters, movies, knick knacks, records, clothing, and an extensive video game selection await your fancy. My absolute favorite setup is the video game console set up in a retro fridge. This made me so happy I cried. Legit. The owner is an absolute doll. She's funny, clever, and knows this business well. I could have spent hours picking her brain and shooting the breeze. Not only does her amazing selection of items blow my mind- but her prices do too. I left with a hefty amount of goods that have increased the cool level of my house by 6,000. So glad I found this place! The inside of the shop is small but you could easily spend an hour or more just walking around looking at everything and then take another lap around the shop because you might have missed something the first time around. This shop has something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a vintage video game or some random sports memorabilia this store has it. Vinyl records, posters, lots of toys from the 80's, you name it. I stop in every so often because the owner is constantly getting new items in & you never know what you might find. I've been to this place a handful of times when I'm out on the Island and I honestly love it. The prices are really good and the selection of eclectic ephemera is well-rounded. The lady who runs the shop is equally as awesome, super chill, and let me use her bathroom one time when I was desperate. Hella chill shop owner, my bladder is forever in your debt. The music selection in particular is really awesome. Really good prices for vinyl and a small selection of CDs. A friend snagged me a copy of The Shirt's first album from this store for $2 and it came with the original letter from the band/recording company all the way back from 1978! Also bought a Green Day CD from this shop (Dookie) and it had Ernie on the back, which is hard to come by in the States due to legal issues; only cost me $3. Overall, I really enjoy this shop and all the stuff in it. Always fun to look around and you can score some really awesome deals if you know what you're looking for. If you're in the neighborhood, or are looking for a cool place to poke around, I'd definitely suggest The Sandbox. read more

It's rare that a week goes by where I'm not in there at least once. The owner absolutely loves what she does, and you can tell; she is committed to customer service. This store is a hidden gem! You can find anything from the 19th and 20th century. My favorite part is their retro video game collection, of which they have games for every console from Atari to NES. They even have an original Street Fighter arcade machine! Very affordable and willing to be flexible on pricing! Will be back soon! read more
