Lived here for 3 years. Best choice of my life. I wish I could give John, the building manager, 10 stars.

But...there are some things about this handyman firm that you need to be aware of: 1) Despite what their website says, neither of the owners (John or Paul) were on-site for my job. 2) There's a two-hour minimum that wasn't disclosed to me till the guys were already on-site. 3) They round-up their labor charges to the nearest hour. 4) If they screw something up, they charge you for the time it takes to fix the problem, whether or not they *actually* get it fixed. In my case, one of my newly installed programmable thermostats simply didn't work after the installation, and after 30 minutes of fiddling the guy from Consider It Done simply gave up and said, "...you'll need to call an HVAC engineer." Well, turns out, he didn't read the instructions and follow the steps necessary to set up the thermostat for a heat-pump system w/emergency heat. I did, and got the problem solved 2 hours before that HVAC engineer was due for what would have been a very, VERY expensive fix.

I called a bunch of companies listed on Yelp and left messages. Paul from Consider it Done called me back within a few minutes, gave me a quote and set up a time to do the job within a few days. He arrived on time, had all the right tools and smart questions and got it done fast. I'd recommend calling them - they're efficient and responsible, and most of all - they call you back, which none of the other companies I called did.

The price is great for what you get in such a great location, walking distance to metro, bars, coffee shops, etc. I'm so glad I found this place, it was exactly right for what I needed. Eventually we moved out just to be better able to commute to a new job, but if we didn't need to, I would have stayed here much longer.

They are pleasant, organized and seem to genuinely care about the needs of their tenants. The apartments are older but well maintained, and the couple times I needed something fixed, they've done it efficiently and quickly. Also, the courtyard is nice and well maintained, and there are picnic tables around the back of the property. It's 0.70 to Courthouse metro from my building, and 1.5 miles to Georgetown. It's a fairly quiet location (despite being right off the exit), and it's less than a mile walk to bars and restaurants in Clarendon. The Italian Store, Giant and Starbucks are a couple blocks away, and Safeway (better than the Giant, which is not great) is 1 mile away. Trader Joe's & Whole Foods are also close by in Clarendon. Parking is good, and laundry for my building is in the basement and operated with a card you can upload money to easily online- no coins, thankfully. I was also very happy they allow cats and don't charge a ridiculous "pet rent." I live on the top floor, and the building/neighbors are quiet, but I've also never had any complaints if I play music or have guests over. The apts do have wood floors, and I cover the main areas with rugs, so it's less noisy. There is a nice mix of people living here -- younger/older, female/male, families/singles, etc.
