However, she did not work in my best interest. I signed in March and had little to no contact with her. I had not heard from her since June 2, until I called with various concerns. She was rude, disrespectful, and took no responsibility. I asked for a release of contract only to find out that Sharita Whitehead drew up a mutual release contract in which she and her company will still get paid even though they will no longer be representing me. I have already expressed to Sharita that it is absolutely shameful that she or Melissa Knighten will be getting paid for SERVICES NOT RENDERED. That is not justice, that is not equity, and it's certaintly NOT HONEST. Any payment they recieve will be dirty money as they have done absolutely nothing to earn it. All money isn't good money. I have had several friends come to me about buying a home, and it says A LOT that not once have I referred Knighten or Whitehead Realty. Beware of working with these individuals. They consistently took the side of the seller and consistently tried to convince us not to request things of the sellers. We had more help from our lender than our realtor throughout the entire process. The biggest demand we had that was make or break for us was to have the "Mold cleaned out, treated, and completely removed". Prior to closing we had an inspector make a second pass at the home and relook at all of our demands to ensure they had been met. He stated that all demands had been met, so we closed. After closing our pest control tech came out to spray for bugs and found 8+ spots of active and untreated mold. This was far from meeting the demands of our contract, so we reached back out to our Realtor and the Broker himself, Scott Averbuch, both of which were dismissive towards helping us get this resolved. Now it looks like we will either need to pay upwards of $5k to get the treatment necessary to protect our two children, or go to court spending even more money. It would seem that they could care less about us now that they got paid. I regret not seeing the red flags sooner. STAY AWAY from this business!
