So, I've always thought people who left one-star reviews for places that have gotten all five-star reviews were such a-holes. I figured maybe they were a competitor or just too demanding-- marking down because the receptionist forgot to smile at them, or something. But today, I have to be that a-hole because Revi made my bikini line bleed and I have huge irritated red bumps everywhere because of the Brazilian she gave me. Why did all the other Yelpers have an excellent experience and I was the one Yelper in huge amounts of pain? I don't know. I've always had sensitive skin, so that could be part of it. I also think Revi was rushing because she wanted to fit me in before an appointment coming half an hour after me. All I know is that it was horrible. She kept telling me, "This is how Brazillians feel." Well, I have had two Brazillians for nearly the same price in Koreatown and they did not hurt like this. They were uncomfortable, but I wasn't writhing and asking the waxer to stop. They did not leave my bikini line bleeding, bumpy, and irritated. My journey into horrible vajayjay land started with a quest to find a waxer in the Valley on a Sunday since I was in Sylmar for the weekend. I called Revi because she was closest. This is a minor detail at this point because my throbbing vagina is more upsetting, but she picked up the phone and went, "Hello." There were children screaming in the background. I had to say, "Is this Revi Skin Care?" She replied, "Yeah, what do you need?" Red flag #1. She proceeded to tell me that her salon was in a trailor house. Red flag #2. God, I was trying SO hard not to judge, because I figured, everyone on Yelp said she's great. But I get there, and she takes me to this little room in the trailor, and her kid or someone's kid was crying in the background (no soothing spa music to help me relax). She was extremely rough and acted like I was being a baby about the pain even though I told her my first two Brazillians had not felt like that. Long story short, I didn't even let her wax the last part little part because I was in so much pain and you could see that my skin was effed up. She didn't offer me a discount or give me the free eyebrow shaping that was advertised, but instead asked if I wanted her card to show to my friends. Um, look at my skin!! Are you serious?? When I showed my girlfriends the result, they all gasped and were horrified. So maybe I'm just the oddball with sensitive skin and a rushed Revi, but I can guarantee you, I will always pick the commute to K-town after this experience. I hate to be that one person to leave a one-star review, but if I can save one other person a ravaged bikini line, I've done my job. And now I need to take some aspirin because I woke up at 3:30am with a throbbing nether region. :( *** Edit Within 12 hours of me posting my review, a friend of Revi's called me (yes, she gave my personal info to a friend- illegal and a HUGE privacy violation) and threatened legal action against me if I didn't take it down. This friend was attending or considering law school, which made her think she could throw around some legalese and I would take down the review. I refused. She tried to then offer me a refund to get me to take down the review. At that point, I was not going to be silenced for a refund. The fact that Revi gave out my number to a third party and immediately threatened me is ridiculous, unprofessional, and may explain why most reviews are five stars. You'll also notice a lot of the reviewers have very few reviews and are personal friends of Revi's. They also like to bag on "the one star reviewer" as if I am some horrible person. Pretty sure they were asked to do this. Why else be so personally invested in my review when there are 80 others?? This business knows how to game the review system and uses nasty reviewer comments and threatening phone calls to silence anyone who doesn't give 5 stars, so visit at your own risk. read more

Okay, so this was my first time going in for a waxing. It's not the easiest thing to do because it's a personal area, but she is so amazing. Yes, it did hurt and yes, I did feel like just stopping and getting the hell out of there, but the finish result was well worth it. Revi tries to make you as comfortable as this can be and she let's you know the first time is going to hurt. She's really sociable and you half forget what you're doing at the moment.. until she pulls, that is. That 1-star was having an off day because Revi is awesome. She's my first and only person I will go to from now on. Don't be intimidated because she likes your area to be CLEAN. She is not afraid to get all up in there to make sure she does a good job. After going to Pink Cheeks for about two years I was always left feeling drained, physically because it was so painful, and my wallet always felt that way too. But Revi changed everything I think about waxing. After explaining why she uses hard wax vs soft wax, talking to me about my prior waxing experiences, she just made me feel so comfortable. She is so detailed and wont let you leave with a single hair on you. Which I love. I love Revi! I've seen her twice now and both times I've been very satisfied. I used to live in San Jose and I loved how they used hard wax for my bikini area. But I had to move back to Southern California and had to find a new person to wax me. I've been to three places and they only use soft wax! Ouch! I have really sensitive skin and I pretty much got ripped by some. So, I had to find another spot that did hard wax! And was Revi a savior! Not only does she use hard wax, she also is very clean! Really great experiance! So I am very new to the world of Brazilian waxing I have had my legs wax before and dame that hurt so I only imagine how bad it would hurt if I waxed the vajayjay. Also I didn't think I could feel comfortable with someone all up in my business. But then a friend of my told me about Revi. My friend had nothing but GREAT things to say about this awesome chick. So I had to find out for myself.. And I am glad I did she is very friendly she talks to you like she has known u for years makes u feel very comfortable which is great if u feel akward when ur half naked in front of someone u just meet. She also made it as painless as possible for me which I very much appreciated. Even had her wax my legs and for the first time ever I didnt have any complaints about the pain.
