First of all, Cindy is the most sweetest, nicest ever! First time here, after knowing about this place for over a decade, and it's such a great place. Front desk so nice and when Cindy walked in the room, she gave me the warmest welcome! You don't always meet genuine people, especially in this industry and I fell in love with this place. Wanted to update my review six months later. If you're interested in buying their bleaching cream, all I can say is this stuff really works! I've tried lots of different things from Amazon to TikTok shop things and decided to go for pink cheeks' due to someone on social media mentioning they use this. All I can say is it's amazing. Of course, keep in mind that you have to be consistent with the product, otherwise I can't promise that you you'll see any changes. I use it almost every night after the shower, and I have seen a big difference in the tone of my skin. I would definitely recommend it, and say give it a shot! It definitely works for me. Hi all you guys here's a review for you - this is the second time/adventure here with my partner/girlfriend. This time, I lost the coin toss and went first today. And well, my girlfriend wanted the full bikini wax. I was like, oh wow... whats that gonna feel like? Anyway, I went into the 'session" with thoughts of The Karate Kid movie, Wax on Wax off on my mind. I was really fortunate today that Cindy, owner, founder and generally a very cool lady was there for the task. She made the experience fun and as relaxing as it could be. And quick! Wanted to find a new waxing salon that was closer to me and I came across Pink Cheeks. Booked an appt a month ago and it went effortlessly. Came back again and this time they were really busy. The front desk attendant asked if it was ok if I was waxed by the owner, I said sure not really knowing what to expect nor did I really care as long as the job got done. The owner did my bikini wax in under 15 minutes, kissed me on the forehead and said thank you. Couldn't ask for a better service. Definitely found my permanent waxing salon. read more

Recently moved to San Diego, and tried a few wax places out there.. Nothing compares to Pink Cheeks. Came back to visit family and had to stop by for a wax appt.. Cindy did an amazing job as always.. First timer and my experience was pretty great. I called ahead of time to make an appointment and asked a million questions. The lady was super nice and helpful and offered some great tips for my upcoming appointment. When I arrived, of course I was terrified. It didn't help that two ladies walked out of a waxing room exclaiming how painful it was. Once I met Cindy, she really helped calm my nerves. We had some great conversations, she made the process less awkward and as painless as possible. I opted to use numbing cream that I slathered on an hour before and am very happy with my decision. It was great to spend a week on an beach vacation and not have to worry about shaving. Definitely planning on going back again. read more

If you want the best - you want Pink Cheeks!! In the years I have been going to Cindy at Pink Cheeks, I've never had anything but an enjoyable experience. Now we all know waxing is not the most comfortable thing, but she and her staff are quick and there is little to no discomfort. Cindy and the rest of the staff are great listeners and/or great story tellers and can make anyone feel comfortable Pink Cheeks is a very cute and clean establishment. Gives anyone walking in a welcoming feeling. Thankfully they've been able to reopened since the Covid restrictions were lifted slightly. In my opinion Pink Cheeks is an "essential business" and should have been allowed to remain open. Just thankful they're still here and standing strong. Thank you Pink Cheeks. You saved a marriage. What waxing salon is open at 8 AM on a Saturday?? Thank God it's Pink Cheeks!! Called early Saturday morning for a quick lip wax and the receptionist was super friendly & said I could be in in a few minutes! The space is so welcoming & inviting, LOVE the little details everywhere and you can tell the shop is a labor of love. Cindy is such a pleasure, so warm and hilarious and quick at what she does! I came here a few years ago for an ear wax. It was in the middle of the week and I was on time for my appointment. However, I was made to wait over 30 minutes past my appointment time and when the old lady (owner?) finally called me she seemed in a foul mood and was yelling orders at her staff. What was supposed to be a quick in and out visit turned into a stressful experience and a few days later I began feeling pain in my left ear. My mind began racing - are they using the same butt wax on my ears? Anyhoo, it turned into several visits to the ENT doctor and special ear drops that I had to take on and off for several months before my ear felt back to normal. I can't say what caused this but I had never had an ear infection in my life and there I was with one after one fateful visit at this place. Update: Since your reply definitely shows you would never be in a foul mood or yell at anyone include your staff, let me provide additional information here in response to your very measured and calm comments: Yes, I was a customer years ago and only once was enough for me. Being older is not an insult, it's a fact of life. Look inside and ask yourself what it says about you as a person if you think old is an insult. You never addressed my points: Have you ever made anyone wait past 30 minutes of their scheduled appointment thereby wasting their time? Do you or have you ever applied used wax on someone, including when doing an ear wax? I am attaching photos of the drops I still have from the experience. I can go toe to toe with anyone calling me a liar. And by the way, I will call out any business that takes advantage of or has a tendency to abuse its customers. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT WAX PLACE, LOOK NO FURTHER. Pink Cheeks is it! I started coming here at the beginning of the Covid pandemic and I will never stop coming here. Cindy is the most amazing woman ever and a work of art. Her hospitality, warmth, love and energy creates the most inviting and pleasurable environment to be in when I'm getting my full Brazilian- she makes me feel so comfortable and almost as if I've known her my whole life and I just love her whole persona. Not to mention what an absolute pro she is at waxing. Though naturally there's pain that comes with the hair-yanking, Cindy is so quick and makes it as painless as possible. Especially with her lively spirit and never ending conversations, you'll be done and bald before you know it. CONTINUATION OF MY OTHER REVIEW POST DATED SAME DATE 6/14/13: Cindy is one of the few people that I think truly loves what she does and it shows. She is always in a good mood and brightens my day. She is just always happy and shares her happiness with others. Cindy is definitely a people person. Throughout the years I have always recommended Pink Cheeks. At first I was so shy to admit that I got waxed but eventually I told my two sisters about it and they LOVED IT. Then I started telling my family like girl cousins and they felt the same way. I've even told my co-workers about it and my friends and now I go in groups to save on gas because like I mentioned before and unfortunately I haven't won the lotto either so I'm still a "baller on a budget". Cindy is always busy it doesn't matter what time of day it is and there is a reason why she is always busy.. its simply because she is the best. Cindy is such a hard worker and during the holidays or the busiest times you see Cindy literally running from one room to the back to wash her hands then run back to another room. During the busiest times she will work literally all day from 6am to 9pm but still manage to wax you and make you feel like she has all the time in the world even though she has a long line of women waiting for their waxes as well right outside the door. I sometimes go with 5 girls and she will do all of us within 30 to 45 minutes or so. She is that good. Cindy is for sure the queen of waxers. When I was younger I went to other places if I was in a hurry and needed a last minute wax nearby and closer to where I live and have experienced the worst of the worst waxes. Cindy is the best TRUST ME YELP USERS . She only does sections at a time and never goes over the same section twice. I always get the "FULL BIKINI". The front is always the worst but once she tells me to flip over I know the worst is over. Also after years of waxing my hair has gotten so thin and there's some spots that I don't even grow hair anymore. It also last about 2 weeks or so with out showing any hair. Cindy has the fastest hands and I love that she does it so fast. I could be in and out in 5 minutes. I think I always pro-long it because we always end up talking up a storm. I also recommend PFB which is available at the salon it works the best for ingrowns and bumps you literally can have baby skin. Cindy is also very patient and works well with first timers. I would know, my cousin was so scared the first time that it took poor Cindy like over an hour just to finish because she kept asking her to stop and would close her legs as soon as Cindy would try to pull. I was so embarrassed and regretted taking her with me but now she loves it and ONLY wants to get waxes from now on. LOL I have also taken pregnant friends, girls on their periods and also witnessed seeing a 74 year old woman at the waiting area that was getting the "Full Bikini" wax as well. I think it really helps that Cindy is also so talkative and has so many interesting things to say because it helps to keep my mind off the wax part of it all. She is also a very wise woman and gives out awesome advice. =) When I recommend Pink Cheeks I always tell people how much I love Cindy and people think I'm crazy because I always say she is one of the nicest persons that I have ever met and would give her a kidney if she needed it =) but once they meet her they all feel the same. We are now the Saturday early morning (like the crack of dawn) group that goes to Pink Cheeks. I like to avoid the rush and make appointments as early as 6am or 7am and leave my apartment at 5am. Yes ladies! - that's how much I love this place that I even wake up early AND ON A WEEKEND just to go and avoid the rush and I'm the worst morning person ever. Now that I go with my sisters and friends we go in one car and make a morning out of it and we always have so much fun. I have one friend that moved up north by San Francisco and still tries to go with me to Pink Cheeks every time she is visiting and is in the O.C. just to go with Cindy and I know I'm not the only one because I've talked to people in the waiting area that drive even longer and come from San Diego and the east coast. The only bad thing I have to say is that I hope Cindy never retires! and if she one day does retire I'm afraid I'm going to have to hunt her down and take a waxing kit with me and go to her house. Well I hope any of you yelp users that got through my entire novel of a review (seriously probably the longest yelp review ever written haha) that were questioning whether or not to go to Pink Cheeks have changed their mind. Oh Come ONNN! I am new to this Yelp stuff, but while reviewing some of my hometown favorites (San Diego RULES!) I figured I'd look up my out of town Favorite place to go and just had to respond to the griper mysters (most current: last two reviews. Competitors friends maybe?) about the best waxing place that I really enjoy coming to. Cowgirl Kathy W. you pinned it! I am also an esthetician (owner, 6 years) and I come all the way up from San Diego to see Miss Cindy at Pink Cheeks. All the other girls are great too and the comradery amongst them is impressive, you don't see that often. I love that place. So I am "rollin' up my sleeves" to challenge your cynicism and defend to the best of my ability a hard workin' woman that I respect and almost love. Crafty decor? They have lovely displays and did you ever take a look at that chandelier? Stone floors? Amazing ceiling?? It's elegant! It's embracing! I love the fireplace and the divine aromatherapy environment. And when the holidays, the thoughtful decor! Religious sayings? I have never seen a religious saying at Pink Cheeks. Only welcoming poetry. You offend me by saying the bathroom looks like an outhouse and smells like pee. Mean girl. The bathroom is adorable and maybe the person using it before you ate asparagus, eh? The bathroom has always been hygienic and clean and sanitary smelling to me. Always. Cindy helps me a lot in my profession that I share with her. She answers all my questions and I respect her so much. If Cindy (or any of the other girls) doesn't trim the hair, it's because you don't need it trimmed. Waxing hair when it's longer makes the pull more complete, gets more hair off. Just read her web site (or a book, perhaps try going to school and learning about what it is you are talking about before you attack someone who has!). Anybody may seep little blood spots from a pull because a lot of clients hair is thick. It's not the skin that bleeds, but the hair follicles from removal. Those dots heal real fast and your skin does get used to it. Promise. Remember, that complainer was a waxing virgin (boy was that the truth and a whiner to boot). And to the tatted girl comment: I have my whole back tattooed (all the way down) and no matter which technician I get at Pink Cheeks they all generously rub the best lotion on me after they wax me. I love it as my skin is thirsty it feels good and it feeds the color on my tats real nice. Why are you complaining about the extra care you were given because someone did not ask your name? or permission? We all get our tats pretty much for others to see mostly...right?...DUH. Let's keep'em pretty. And if all of your hair did not come off, maybe it was too dang short in spots (hello you need at least enough for the wax to grasp, this drives me insane, people you can't wax hair that is tooooooo short!). Call Cindy, she'll redo you for free I'd bet. Course I can't speak for her but she does things like that. I read the Pamela Anderson story in a mag but Pink Cheeks has never talked about her to me. And making fun of people? I don't think so. They are IN the hair business girl! And how they "do" the wax? (I took notes on you complainers). Pink Cheeks gets you on your elbows and knees, zip zap, anal hair is gone. You're done. Does not hurt one bit. Some salons have you throw your legs over your head while laying on your back and THAT gesture puts your whole unit in the tech's face. No thanks. Just imagine. Or some salons lay you on your stomach flat and have you, the client, open up your own butt cheeks with your hands, w ~ i ~ d ~ e with your chin diggin' on the table. Ouch. No thanks again. Let me advise you all of this. Try Pink Cheeks for yourselves. And like cowgirl Kathy W. said...if you have any problem in anyway as a client there, let them know, they will gladly and generously amend it in a way that will make you be OK. And if you are a competitor writing mean things, please don't, it brings our whole industry down when you do. The place can be busy but it's a happy place, a kind place and I wish that I can eventually create a business for myself 1/2 as good as Pink Cheeks. Cindy is my mentor. My experience level using Pink Cheeks Skin Salon extends over the past 30 years,...years before the location was actually on Ventura Boulevard. In those years I have never seen any of the horse-crud Ebony G. describes. Get real,....someone running out of the salon with wax strips stuck onto their legs, UNLIKELY!! This salon uses one strip on me per visit when getting waxed,....not a multitude of them. Yes, I too have had to wait for my waxings before after creating an appointment,...but that stands true for most doctor, dentist, hair appointments, etc... Hell, I have had to wait for food orders, traffic lights, what have you, it is what it is. Statistics state over 80 percent of our lives are spent waiting - so for anyone to complain on that, Grow the F - up. The wait, if any, is well worth the clean hairless pleasures that await you!! Pink Cheeks is a wonderful enriched environment, always clean and warm with holiday decore and gift ideas within the lobby. The staff is friendly, and the knowledgable on skin care needs, (be it waxing, or facials). The prices, for a salon in the heart of Sherman Oaks on Ventura Boulevard, have not changed in almost Twenty years / So suffice it to say; they are more affordable than newer and less experienced Salons. Lastly, I want to point out this salon's clientele is made up of some celebrities that can afford to go anywhere for skin needs, but choose time and time again to come here. Why anyone would give credence to a poor yelp review constructed by a bed pan changing Yale Student, rather than try this salon for yourself. SO pathetic that liars such as Tim S and Vicky V have to trash a reputable business and business owner most likely because they are worried that their own cheesy 818 salons will NEVER have the customer loyalty that Pink Cheeks has. It's so obvious. This is the type of bad mouthing threatened competitors are capable of when they KNOW that Pink Cheeks is the only game in town when in comes to something as specialized as waxing. I've seen this all before.....and to call Cindee ANYTHING but accommodating and caring and warm as far as her personality goes, is the BIGGEST lie of all and this is what completely gives these two losers away in their lame "pre-fab" reviews. Whoa!!! How many little green monsters were put sittin' on the shoulders of all the other salons options under "Pink Cheeks"? I believe that you are one jealous person acting like you are many persons under all the different salon names putting down my Favorite salon. Pink Cheeks is by far the best salon around and I have been going there for 16 years! ALL the girls are fabulous and the camaraderie among them is wonderful. It is a very Very Clean Place, the hours are great, and they decorate so vintage cute on holidays, I just love them all. When Cindy is too busy I have gone to Aya and she is very nurturing too. Somebody very very jealous of their success has it out for them on yelp people but please please go there for yourselves and see. That is one successful salon and created with years of dedication to its clients (me being a long time one). Pink cheeks was a place I enjoyed coming to every other month despite the difficult parking situation (Ventura blvd is constantly busy). My last visit there will truly be my LAST after the horrid customer service I experienced. Let me begin by saying that before my visit I 1. Called to make sure I could come in for an appointment and booked the appointment. I DID NOT RANDOMLY show up hoping for an opening, I had confirmation I would be helped at the agreed upon time. I arrived 10 minutes early and checked in with the receptionist, who said it would be about 15 minutes before my room was ready. I was ok with that. What I was NOT ok with and terribly upset about was that it took 45 minutes to be escorted into a room where I was left alone for another 20 minutes, when I had booked an appointment in advance! On top of that the owner, Cindy, came in the room and said she would be right back and NEVER CAME BACK. I wasted 2 hours of my life waiting, and $10 on parking. Did I mention I drove from Altadena to pink cheeks? I was once a loyal customer of Pink Cheeks, and now upset I have to find another place to get waxed. I don't know what the BAD reviews are for! all of the girls that work there are so nice and friendly. Maybe who ever went there and then wrote a bad review was just having a really bad day. I've been going there for almost 10 years... this place is the BEST!!!!!!!! And i mean it. I never write reviews on anything but i saw that there was some bad ones on here so here i go........ I just got back from the dermo's office and I am blown AWAY. I went in to Pink Cheeks to have my legs and bikini done and the waxer there saw a little black mole that I didn't even know I had. I mean it was little, Little, little, little. She told me that she wanted it off before I came back. I was new so didn't know how to take that comment because it was kind of a tease and kind of serious. I was a tad nervous about it because I looked at it a bit later and it was indeed black. I went to the doctor a few days later got a call and SURE ENOUGH it was malignant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went in and had it taken off and they caught it, got it, They cut big around it though. So let me start by saying that Cynthia is the sweetest person ever! I wasn't sure about the whole anal bleaching thing but I knew for sure that if I bought into it that I would have to be completely comfortable with it! I emailed Cynthia and her response was so friendly and warm.. It was like talking to a good friend I could trust.. I received the bleaching cream and the magic began from there. I used the product as instructed, I applied it every night and I painted it on sparingly. Anyone who hasn't seen any results must be doing something wrong, even though I'm not quite sure how you can screw up such simple instructions! My guess is lack of PATIENCE!! I mean, it's anal BLEACH not PAINT!! Anyhow, I can see the color of my treated area steadily balancing out with the natural color of my skin! After about 5 weeks I'm not completely where I want to be, but the results are so noticeable and phenomenal that I knew it was time to post this review.. Bottom line is it works!! I have had 3 horrible experiences here! I've given it the benefit that maybe THE FIRST 2x's I didn't have the best person for the job and that's why my bikini wax was growing back in less than a week.(her name was Adrien I think, not nice and breaks the hair rather than pulls from the root) I use to go over the hill but recently moved back to the valley and was desperate to find something closer. So today I made an appt with Cindy at 1:30, (giving it another chance) I sat in the waiting area for 20 min listening to her talk about a dog video, Europe, ruins in tulum, etc, while I waited 20 min after my appt time. The receptionist felt bad and put me in a waxing room to try and move things along and AGAIN I waited. I finally left at 1:50 because the reason I made that appt time was so I could pick my kids up from school afterwards. Now I couldn't wait. Not a sorry, not a word of apologies from this place. I read every single review about Pink Cheeks and I am fascinated by the feedback I read. I have been attending that salon now for many months and am thinking about getting into the beauty industry myself, part time, so I can write like I love to do. For those few unhappy persons, you might consider talking to the owner directly about your disappointed experience. Does she even know that you are unhappy? Let us all see what you say when you try communicating to the accused. I believe that she is a person of immense integrity and I personally respect her very much. I once witnessed a bride come in crying because she had obtained some waxing from another salon and was very distraught about the quality of service that she was given. Getting your private parts can be soooo awkward, but Pink Cheeks makes sure that the experience is completely relaxed and as comfortable as possible. The rooms are kept toasty warm so you're not freezing while you lay half naked on a table. The technicians are trained (I assume) to talk to you while doing their job, and it definitely works to distract you!! You're so distracted by the conversation that you barely notice the speed they're stripping you with. It takes literally about 10 minutes to get every little hair gone, and it's completely worth it. Most of their services include "in the butt," which I'll let you figure out on your own. As weird as that may seem, it makes all the difference, and is definitely the least painful part of the whole process... and something that isn't offfered at most other waxing salons. $50 for most full bikini treatments, and absolutely worth it. read more

I was seeing a guy who told me about Pink Cheeks salon. I dumped the guy (too needy) but kept Pink Cheeks! The owner (and one of my most favorite people) is Cindy... yes, she is very busy, and you may have to wait to get waxed... but she does an AMAZING JOB, and is one of the sweetest, friendliest people I have met in any service industry. While you may have to wait, there is Gina, the receptionist. You'd swear she had 12 hands, and the patience of a saint, the way she schedules appointments, welcomes clients, and helps you pay for services rendered. There are fun things to purchase, if you are so inclined... and you can always go next door to Handmade, a wonderul gift shop with lots of jewelry & fun stuff you absolutely need & want. Bottom line.... I look forward to going to Pink Cheeks because of the people and the service... the whole experience is delightful. read more

Everyone knows it is a place for porn stars and amatuer waxees. It's old news, but used to be a great because they were pioneers. Now there are many options, so no need to waste time on this has-been salon who is starving for papparazi attention. (I suggest Sweet Dreams!) Since Pink Cheeks opened, they have always name dropped, but now they actually talk smack about celebs to anyone who will listen. The lobby is filled with playboy mags and dildos for sale, i guess to remind us how "cool" and open-minded they are. Cindee still comes out regularly into the lobby just to check and make sure there are no 'haters' there. She once asked a girl to leave right there in the lobby in front of apprx 5 people and announced that she bounced a check. Very unhappy with this place for two reasons, and anyone who tells you different will be a liar and I'd say it their face: 1) They are not sanitary. If they aren't wearing latex gloves or throwing away the wax stick applicator each time they touch you with it, THINK OF HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU ARE TOUCHING RIGHT NOW- THINK ABOUT WHAT PARTS OF THEIR BODY THEY ARE GETTING WAXED- now don't you feel disgusted? 2) The wax is cheap, the cheapest you can find in body waxing. I did my research, trust me, because I was pissed off for having redness, skin tears, and blood. This wax goes for less then $10 a gallon, seriously folks. And yes, there are other places you can go and pay the SAME PRICE and get better results and with less pain. See my other reviews for details. I am a shy guy sweet as pie and gay as the day. Pink Cheeks All-ways makes me comfortable and I have gone to Ashley, Cynthia and Aya. Love you all, girls. I just visited Pink Cheeks for my third time and and guess who I saw? Mr. James Haven (Angela Jolie's bro!) and he's tall and goood lookin"! Ummm! The girls do a fine fine job and they are all as nice as can be and that little salon over there rocks with great energy and lots of clients going in and out. I have never had to wait too long, the quality of work is superb, and all the techs have a great relationship among one another. No pretention there either. I highly recommend. I have never yelp'd before in my life. I saw on Monday, Pink Cheeks was on TV so I figured I look it up. I have been going there for years. I read some of what has been written. If you need to go on and on about anything I think you must be LYING. I think its sad people want free stuff because you have to wait your turn. In that case I want free money from the bank, I want free meds from my phamacist, I want free Dr office visits, I want free..... Pay for what you get and if your not happy maybe you are just not happy with yourself. This salon is always clean, freindly and has the cutiest themed items I have ever seen. Cindy's the best! She has such a great energy. You can tell she cares about her clients. She always remembers me when she sees me and we catch up during my wax, its really comforting and makes the wax process pass much quicker and takes my mind off of it. And it's nice knowing she takes the time to care enough to put time into things like that. The salon is kept very clean as well as the rooms. I found pink cheeks on yelp & I've been coming to her for my Brazilian wax's for years :) ! Other than Cindy, I've also seen Andrea for my wax and she's really sweet and good at waxing as well although I think I've only seen her once or twice. Id reccomend both of them :) read more

I have been going to Pink Cheeks salon for over 8 years. Just walking through the door Cindy (the owner) has created a cozy friendly atmosphere... When it was time for my daughter to get here first wax I didn't even think twice about where she would be getting her wax. When you enter the waiting room you are checked in at a timely manner... Cindy and all the girl's there are extremely efficient, my brazilian wax takes less than 5 minutes!! Pink Cheeks is the most sanitary and sterile environment which always makes me comfortable... However, I ended up waiting over 20 minutes because the owner chose to take a girl who came in after me simply because she knew her. I then had to continue waiting while they chatted. When it was finally my turn, the owner quickly directed me to the other woman doing brows instead of taking me herself. I'm assuming she realized how that looked after having me sit there while she took someone who arrived later. Another concern I had was that the scissors were not cleaned between clients. Also, the woman doing my brows applied rose water to my face without asking first. I have sensitive skin and always decline having products applied to my face, so this caught me off guard and made me uncomfortable. My previous brow artist always asked before putting anything on my skin. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the experience. Being dismissive of customers and disrespectful of their time, especially as the owner, is not something I would expect. It's a shame because I was genuinely excited to try this place, but I won't be returning or recommending this place ever.
