I've undergone three breast surgeries with Dr. Revis. The first produced decent results, but I was left with chronic pain on my right side, which I now know was caused by permanent green sutures he refers to as his internal bra. I brought this up multiple times over the years, but he repeatedly dismissed it, saying he didn't see anything concerning and that it would likely resolve. It did not. For the second procedure (a reduction and donut lift), I hoped to go significantly smaller. I was assured this could be achieved with a donut lift, but immediately after surgery, I was told I'd actually need an anchor lift to achieve that. Had I known this beforehand, I would've chosen the anchor lift upfront. This shift post-op made me feel misled, and I later saw similar reports from other patients. In my third and final procedure with Dr. Revis, I underwent a lift, reduction, implant exchange, and contracture repair. I emphasized that I wanted to go smaller and that my areolas--left irregular after the prior lift--needed to be made small, round, and symmetrical. When I reiterated these concerns, I don't feel they were taken seriously, and my results reflected that. After surgery, the right-side pain worsened and was visibly linked to skin puckering over the green sutures. The pain was intense and required more medication than anticipated. At 10 days post-op, I experienced sudden, painful swelling in my left breast, along with fever and rash. I went to the ER and was diagnosed with a hematoma. Dr. Revis had told me I could lift my 25-lb child at 7 days post-op. I chose to be cautious, but the hematoma occurred anyway. Other surgeons I later consulted with called such a late-onset hematoma highly unusual and concerning. Dr. Revis recommended waiting for it to resolve naturally. He said I could return for correction, but I no longer felt safe in his care. I told him I had a fever and was told, "I wouldn't worry about it--you're on antibiotics." I received no follow-up from him or his staff after that point. In the ER, I was told this was a medical emergency. Additional board-certified surgeons confirmed this. They warned that leaving it untreated could increase the risk of another contracture and that reusing the same implant, as Dr. Revis suggested, could pose a bacterial risk. Ultimately, I had to explant. Multiple surgeons agreed the safest path was to remove the implant and let my body heal. A CT scan raised more concerns, showing blood in unexpected areas and unclear implant placement. My new surgeon noted that Dr. Revis had attempted to create a new pocket by cutting into another part of the muscle and was confused by this decision. The permanent green sutures causing chronic pain were removed during explant, and that pain is finally gone. I now face a long recovery and costly revision surgery to address what I believe were avoidable errors. More than six months later, I still have chronic pain in my left breast, where the odd half-pocket was made. Imaging is ongoing. My breasts remain asymmetrical in size and position, with one fold significantly lower. My areolas are different sizes, shapes, and placements. It's also worth noting that Dr. Revis no longer holds an American Board of Surgery certification as of 2022. He now operates at a private surgical center rather than Broward Hospital. At this new facility, I had a traumatic experience during anesthesia induction--I felt panicked and overpowered while being forcefully masked with a strong-smelling gas. I'm currently researching what gas was used, as some studies have raised questions about long-term neurological effects. In my opinion, my experience with Dr. Revis involved poor communication, questionable surgical decisions, and a total lack of follow-up in the face of a medical emergency. He botches the first surgery in order for you to require a second revision to repair the first at a "discounted " cost. It pains me to write this review, but it's necessary to warn others about the limitations of this surgeon, especially when it comes to revision procedures. I am 32 years old and had my first set of implants in 2010 by another surgeon who is now retired and does not practice anymore. After I was finished having my three children, I needed to get my breast re-done, I wanted to downsize and get a lift. I was also having back and neck pain from the weight of the current implants which were 690 cc's. I was referred to Dr. Revis and knew a couple of people that had implants placed by him. I set up a consultation and he was very pleasant and seemed extremely confident he could give me the results I was hoping for. I was excited to finally get to work on myself after having three children. It was time for me to feel better and confident. In August 2022 I underwent a 360 VASER liposuction, donut lift, implant exchange (690 cc's to 350 cc's), and Dr. Revis's "permanent bra" technique that he said I would need as well. The total for the whole procedure was right under 25 thousand dollars. Surgery was quite painful but that is expected of course. My husband and I took time off of work so he can help care for the kids while I recovered. After the initial surgery with Dr. Revis as the healing and inflammation started to subside there was a quite obvious asymmetry. My breasts looked absolutely horrific, not to mention the lipo on my stomach left me with visible irregularities. I was so upset, so I e-mailed Dr. Revis he wanted me to wait a certain amount of time before following up with him and possibly doing surgery again. When I returned back to his office for a follow up he agreed that I needed another surgery and that he did the wrong type of lift and should have done an anchor lift instead of a donut lift and he said he needed to fix my nipples because of "the way I scar". Despite expressing my concerns and dissatisfaction with the asymmetrical and unnatural results following the first procedure, I decided to give Dr. Revis the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to attempt to fix his work. He wanted to charge me 7 thousand dollars for this second surgery but saw how upset I was so he discounted it and charged me 5 thousand dollars bringing the total amount spent to 30 thousand dollars. However, the supposed "correction" only exacerbated the issue, leaving me in a worse state than before. I had one of my incisions dehisce a couple of weeks after surgery and ended up having an allergic reaction to the the steri-strips, I have never itched so bad in my life! I e-mailed Dr. Revis and he instructed me to take off the steri-strips right away, did not offer to call me in steroids or anything. Upon removing the steri-strips, I noticed my incision had dehisced. So I had to go to urgent care and get steroids and antibiotics. Over the next several weeks I started to notice my right breast was sitting way higher than my left breast and my right breast has a significant indentation. My nipples are very high on my chest they pop out of bathing suits and tank tops, they are oval shaped, and small for my size breast. But, the main issue I was having was progressive tightening, pain, and itching in my right breast. I reached out to Dr. Revis via e-mail and sent him pictures. According to Dr. Revis, I developed capsular contraction in my right breast (which makes sense and most likely is capsular contraction). He instructed me to take Montelukast, which is an anti-inflammatory medication used to treat asthma and allergies, but can be used off-label to help soften the capsule around the implant and help to prevent capsular contraction. I expressed the pain is getting worse and worse and I can't stay like this much longer. He then told me to schedule surgery in 90 days and I would have to pay again for OR fee, anesthesia, and for a new implant. Funny, he forgot to mention my implant is under warranty for capsular contraction. I am deeply hesitant to entrust Dr. Revis with any further surgical procedures, and I adamantly refuse to allow him to perform any additional operations on me. In fact, I sought out the opinions of two additional plastic surgeons regarding the corrective work needed. Both surgeons independently quoted me an estimate of $20,000 to rectify the issues caused by the initial procedure. What truly irks me is the provider's insistence on charging for each subsequent revision. It's disheartening and frankly unethical to expect patients to foot the bill for multiple revisions when the initial procedure fell short of delivering the promised results. I understand the complexities of cosmetic procedures and the occasional need for revisions. However, I firmly believe that it's the responsibility of the provider to stand behind their work and ensure patient satisfaction without repeatedly burdening them financially. Dr Revis has an eye for symmetry, and he can create nice results, but the issue is he follows his own rules compared to other surgeons. A capsule is there to hold the implant in place and his internal bra stitching won't do anything without a capsule and he keeps blaming your own tissues. It's an ego thing. I know this stuff after 4 augmentations, so he couldn't hide what he did from me, but I had to push him with questions and ask for a refund to make him verify what I knew he did. All my previous and current doctors taught me a lot and explain what they did during surgery, but Dr Revis leaves you in the dark. On some women he removes the capsule completely (total capsulectomy) during a revision and so he resects the breast tissue and the skin envelope is the only thing holding the implant (as another doctor told me) so they feel like protruding saggy rocks in a sock only for the ladies to come back and he will blame it on them and offer overpriced strattice which he can't place correctly and the sutures will show like spider legs on the skin as I saw on a patient on realself. Total removal of capsule is what he did to the Onthebeach lady whom I talked to and we shared experiences. My bottom capsule was also removed, and my skin holds the implants. I've had implants since age 18, I'm 34 and I'm not one to be able to ever have real breasts due to a severe tubular deformity. I have thin tissues, so he did not remove all of my capsule as he later admitted, but the implants are not standing up they are by 1" bottomed out - Dr JJ Wendel in Nashville measured me- the lower pole bulging out and are quite detached from my sternum. He creates an intentional bottoming out to give "a natural hang" as he names it. In my case it sort of worked out since Im so high testosterone I have 0 breast tissue of my own,no lower pole, and a mild symmastia case from my 1st surgery so implants that are totally pinned on my chest occupy the upper sternal area & tend to cause me pain in the median even if they're narrower and due to that I also have no lower pole. Like I said in my case because I am SO tight, it worked. I chose Dr Revis knowing I take a huge risk (some of his work is bottomed out I could tell). Most doctors I consulted did not want to mess with large implants (I had 700cc already) and even though I have a ballerina body type, I have a broad chest wall and needed wider implants that doctors were scared to work with. I still dislike how they're "tilted" in the pocket and the upper pole is not as full without a push up bra, but it gives me lower pole volume. Dr revis suggested non cohesive implants that are no good for over the muscle and overly wide for me but I knew well what dimensions and implant I wanted for my anatomy. So he can't guide you properly if you know nothing about implants. Due to the partial capsule removal, there is rippling when bending over and sagginess (only the upper capsule holds the implant which he did not remove thank God), but I am super athletic and tight so it doesn't bother me much and in time my body formed a capsule not as thick yet so they were lifted on their own a bit as Dr Wendel had promised me when I was looking for a revision for an inferior capsulorrhaphy, but I can't run even with a bra on - the lower pole is unsupported. He calls it "a natural hang", well it's loose implants, and on other women with normal tissues it looks worse than mine. I have to wear a bra constantly, they sit quite low, they kinda look bottomed out and they feel overly soft. Like I said though, with my anatomy it sort of worked cause in time my capsule always hardens and things get tighter. My left one was never bottomed out btw. I can't fix the issue, all doctors told me that a bottom capsulorrhaphy will damage nerves cuz my tissues are so thin and I already had a capsulorrhaphy by my previous doc prior to Revis on my right breast, and I was in constant pain, I still am occasionally, but nerve damage from capsulorrhaphy on the ribs isn't something doctors can prevent. I think he did find the work done for him by my previous doctor. I had strattice for symmastia for 2k both in total by my previous doc who's affiliated with Strattice (Dr Pelletie -Chicago); if I didn't have that, I'd have tenting for sure. Do NOT accept Dr Revis' suggestion for strattice or an areola incision (I did not). My previous surgeon had my implants overly high and tight, pockets too tight so I had a wide gap, it was painful but Dr Revis' approach was too liberal in removing the capsule like that and letting them hang/relax. The good thing is they don't hurt because he placed them lower and not on the upper sternal area, and his placement is indeed fantastic I give him that,(Dr Wendel liked his work on me) but like I said his capsule removal tactic to sell strattice afterwards and his bad areola stitching hurt his reputation and his patients. I went to Dr. Revis for a breast augmentation revision because I was left with uneven breasts from a previous well known doctor in Broward. I highly recommend this doctor as he is a good listener and has the range of skills to do the best procedure for your unique body. I had severe encapsulation with 4 other doctors. After interviewing several new doctors, they all told me they would have to cut under my breast to fix me, which I knew would cause a giant keloid scar. I went to Dr. Revis for breast revision. I'm very disappointed in the results. I have ridges and holes in my chest and breast. I was DEFORMED! He tethered me down to my rib cage with horrible pain from his sutures. My left breast bottomed out after 5 months. He ripped apart my shoulder area of which needed reconstruction repair. There's was no way he needed to even be in that area. I hear the word amazing and the victims that have been botched by him use different words to describe what he did to us. Dr Revis is truly an amazing doctor and surgeon. There are so many wonderful things I could say about him. He did an outstanding job on my breast augmentation. I was recommended to Dr Revis by a friend who had her breasts done there, and hers looked amazing and natural. (I didn't know she had them done until she told me).
