I really love this restaurant. I love the fact that the owner walks around to every table in the restaurant, to make sure that everyone is satisfied. I asked for "just a bit more" to mix with the sauce (all that was left) and they charged me for a full side order. I've been to India many times and have bought Basmati locally, so I know as "fill" that it's a very cheap portion of a $20 bowl of sauce with a few chunks of meat. We haven't been back since. The good news is that another much better (in our opinion), more authentic Indian restaurant has opened in the Kedron Shopping Center just left of Kroger. The ambiance is superior as is the food and the wait staff. And the rice that they provide makes a mound inside a long bowl, as compared to a sunken contour of the bowl at Star of India. We've dined there with the same couple many times and are absolutely delighted. What's more: we ran low on rice a couple of times and without our requesting it they brought another large mound without our even asking, and didn't charge us for a side order as did Star of India.
