The appetizers were outstanding. Since we were in the south, we had to try the Green Fried Tomatoes, which were good especially with the goat cheese garnishment . The Lobster Deviled Eggs were outstanding also. For entrees, our party had the halibut, the Steak au poivre, (2x, one medium and the other medium well) and the flounder. All of them were excellent, but special remarks must be given to the halibut. It was truly delicious. The deserts were a perfect closure. One negative comment: the wine availability was "meh". The white wine bottle we ordered as the seafood complement was adequate but did not match the otherwise extraordinary quality of everything else. My husband and I ordered the bang bang shrimp and crab cakes for an appetizer. For our meal, we ordered had the shrimp and scallop linguini. Every entree was seasoned really well. I really love this restaurant. I love the fact that the owner walks around to every table in the restaurant, to make sure that everyone is satisfied. The dishes were delicious and had a Cajun influence to them full of flavor which you can be tailored to your liking by leaving the seasoning out or on the side. To top the evening off the staff had all signed a birthday card for my husband which was a special touch that was placed on the table at the start of our night by the host. Upon seating I noticed a ton of crumbs all over the bench seat I was too going to sit on and had to sweep them all on the floor (a serious over sight for the service staff at a fancy restaurant). For the price... I expected attention to detail. My food menu had food particles on it. My water glass was never refilled until after dinner so I had no water for most of my experience here. The waitress encouraged me to order a different drink after I gave her my drink order. I didn't like the drink she recommended and she never asked how I like it when it arrived. For my second drink I ordered the whiskey sour which tasted like there was zero alcohol in it. My husband loved his drink and ordered 2 of the same with a cool spinning glass stand. We ordered 2 crab cakes which were delicious! We loved the Mac n cheese & Brussels sprout sides. My husband ordered a Waygu steak after the waitress recommended it and said it was very flavorful. I ordered the ribeye. We both preferred my steak based off of flavor. He wouldn't order the Waygu again. We ordered the carrot cake to share... it was huge! It could probably feed 4-6 people. As a baker myself (and lover of carrot cake) I felt like it was way too sweet. The bill was reasonable for a fancier restaurant... but the service was lacking for the price we paid.
