Usually my husband takes my son to get his hair cut but I was lucky enough to enjoy the experience today. Dave is an absolute master of his craft, spending time to perfect every little detail. My son is rather shy and tends to go completely mute once in the chair but Dave got him to crack a smile or too (and cracked me up in the process). A true artist - look at those rad designs! This ain't your grandfather's barbershop, but they could still make him look good. I've been going to Courtney for the last couple of years and have recommended this shop countless times ever since. Over that time, I've never experienced or seen a bad cut come out of this place, because: these barbers get it. Fades and tapers and classic-styled cuts are nothing new to these guys. You're not coming out of here looking like a 12 year old kid on picture day (unless you are a 12 year old kid and it happens to be picture day), and you're never going to need a friend or relative to emergency-fix a weird spot afterwards -- if you've ever had a shitty barber experience, you know what I mean. This place has atmosphere, talent, and friendly service you just don't find anywhere else. Bonus points for being LGBTQ-friendly. If you want a good looking short cut, it doesn't matter who you are. I was struggling to find a barber that could actually trim a beard. Then I found Revolution online, called up and asked for an appointment that afternoon. I lucked out with getting Jillian. She listens, double checks, and does an amazingly thorough job on my beard trims and head shaves/buzz cuts. Sometimes I ask her to take it down because it's the summer, sometimes a short trim, and she always does it perfectly. Can't say enough good things about her. I haven't tried anyone else there but the many times I've been in I've never seen a bad haircut, most everyone else is a repeat customer, which says a lot about the shop. You won't be disappointed. I recently moved back to the area and have been searching for a good barbershop. I visited a couple that got the job done but didn't quite feel at home until I made it into Revolution. Props for having a nice, easy system online to book appointments and see availability. I also knew I would like it here when I walked in and saw a Johnny Cash poster and heard the Motown music being played and hummed along to by some of the staff. I was lucky enough to have Jillian give me a shape up and a beard trim. I'm pretty indecisive when it comes to my haircut but gave Jillian a rough idea of how I like my hair to look. She really took the time to make it look great and even asked to take a picture once it was done because of how good it came out. She also spoke a lot about skin care and the importance of moisturizing. You can tell she is super passionate about what she does. The shape up was incredibly reasonable at $17. I moved down here from NYC to the Cherry Hill/Philadelphia area for work about 1 year ago and have been struggling to find a place that would consistently cut my hair... mind you that the same person back in NYC had been cutting my hair for the past 10 years.. where I never had to say or describe the type of cut I wanted... thus, it has been an incredibly difficult transition as most places I've tried (tried over 5 different places in the area) would have somebody new cut my hair each visit or just completely botch it each time.. it was like playing roulette with my bi-weekly routine. They treat their regulars like friends, and even make any child getting a hair cut feel relaxed. This place is the greatest barber shop i ever been to here in south New Jersey. I m active duty Marine and when it comes to getting hair cuts, we are very sensitive and picky in a way. We want to look sharp and very professional in our appearance. Guess because thats all we have left to make a style we can grown facial hair or have long hair. I just searched the closest barber shop that is open now on yelp and this had 4and1/2 rating. So i decided to stop by and i was lucky enough to actually get a hair cut on Friday(weekend) night with out a reservation. When i walked in the first thing i saw was a Marine picture on the wall. It gave me the feeling plus the though of, okay maybe this place know how to give a good hair cut. Only reason i thought that or had that feeling was because i been to so many different barber shop but has disappointed me and made me to think i just wasted my money. Long story short, Courtney gave me the perfect Marine Corps style hair cut! on point! Shaved, perfect fade, nice touch up. It was just the best hair cut i ever had since i left South Carolina. Having been a very long time Haircuttery customer, I was long overdue change. Luckily, I found my way to Revolutions via Yelp. Came by as a walk-in on a weekday and was greeted by the owner, Courtney. After a quick explanation about my usual hairstyle, I left the rest to her. Pros: neat shop, nice lady, good discounts for vets/seniors/students Cons: haircut quality similar to cheaper shops (poor) Summary: I won't be going back **update** the owner, Courtney, might convince me to go back tl;dr: I can't remember the lady's name that cut my hair, but I know it was -not- owner. She was a nice lady, but the haircut was similar to quality of the Haricuttery, Supercuts, Cost Cutters, etc. It cost about 20% more, which might be worth it if you're into the unique setup and the less commercial setup than the other places I mentioned. If all you care about is quality either save a few dollars and go to one of the franchises or spend some more money and go elsewhere. About my haircut, when I got home and took a shower, I realized the center back of my hair was left much longer than the rest. The front is also unequal lengths. I'll have to get my haircut again to fix that up. She also missed the two corners of the back of my head and my sideburns were uneven, I whipped out the clippers and trimmed that up. I have a simple haircut buzzed on the sides and trimmed on the top, so nothing fancy or complicated. It is especially disappointing because she told me she specializes in male haircuts and I was the only one in at the time (so there was no rush). ** 1/8/15 Update ** I commend owners/businesses that actively focus on their customer and a positive experience. Jillian does a mean fade!! I got a super bad haircut from another place and came to Revolution in hopes of them fixing it and Jillian went above and beyond! This barber shop has the coolest vibe to it. They play classic rock, have a Star Wars tie fighter hanging from the ceiling, and my favorite: Jack Daniel bottles turned into squirt bottles. This place is wonderful. Took the boys (13 and 9, with special needs who have always had the same hair cuts) and the experience couldn't have been better. DAVE is the man. I went here after hearing about them on the Internet. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly. I was fortunate, and got there when there was no wait. I hadn't scheduled an appointment online, But they were able take me with no issue. The haircut was very nice and I'm happy with it. I wasn't sure how to haircut would be, so I went with a little bit more conservative cut. Longer than I would normally do, but I didn't want to chance it on a new place.
