I had high hopes for this, but there's so much room for improvement. My daughter attended a birthday party here last week and the staff was 50 minutes late to start the party. They never once communicated with the party host and we were all crammed into the lobby waiting. I felt so bad for the host! When we finally got back to the party area, the staff did a nice job and it was cute. But they rushed the host with the birthday cupcake portion and based it on the original start time (remember it started 50 min late). Jen did a great job on my child's haircut. The place has tv screens playing cartoons for each hair cutting station so it helps keep the kids occupied. There are dress up princess gowns for extra charge. The infrastructure is very kid friendly, but it looks a bit aged. It could use some renovations and new furniture. Pricing is fair ($21 plus tax, and tips) for toddler haircut. Staff was friendly and patient. She knows how to cut hair on a wiggly, active toddler. It took her only maybe 10 mins. I've seen bad reviews from birthday party attendees, so I was hesitant but I'm glad I went. This experience was just 1 child and I went on a less busy weekday, so my child got adequate attention. Needs new management. It has the infrastructure to be a great place- a great concept and adorable setup! However, it is poorly managed and staffed. The birthday party I went to started 40 mins late! You had 8 year olds waiting and waiting in the small area in the front of the store for the party to start. And when they finally started the party there was only 1 employee working with them to do their hair (for a party of 10!). It took forever. The employee was also dead inside. No soul. In fact, none of the employees seemed friendly or excited. They should not be working at a kid's birthday party! Needs better management. On Saturday January 11th 2025 We had my daughters 9th birthday party at Sweet & Sassy of Cherry Hill NJ. I have tried to write this over and over but unfortunately there isn't enough space for what took place but just know at this location the staff who were mostly teenagers and the managers and even the owner were rude, unprofessional, unorganized liars. The conditions were completely unsanitary. No gloves were worn nobody washed their hands, they used the same washcloth to wipe off facemasks. They used the same dirty water for the second group of girls for the pedicures while also having all the girls walk barefoot throughout the entire place. They rushed us the entire time even though they took us 15 minutes late. They wouldn't take any accountability at the end when when they were rushing us out. The party was almost $1200 and initially they just wanted to take off $50 which I said was ridiculous so they took off another $100 which in my opinion was still not enough. We ultimately had to except and pay because we weren't give much of an option. As we were leaving one of the managers who was the one yelling the whole time who saw us pay decided to call the cops and say we didn't pay. We spoke with the officers who seemed unfazed as if this has happened before. We shared our experience and as we were discussing everything the manager who called came out and said oh they did pay. This experience was traumatizing to my daughter who was attacked by another child a year ago and the police were called then and she suffers from PTSD from that incident. To say they ruined my daughters birthday party in an understatement. As I said I didn't have enough room to even write everything but hopefully this is enough to warn any other parents looking to book a party or even just to go for the day. The air conditioning in the limo was not working and the limo was not well maintained. It certainly was not worth the money. You might as well hire a real, professional limo service. Spent over $500 on a bday party for my 9 year old. Walked in, wasn't greeted by anyone. Had to wait around for about a half hour before anything got rolling. All this while they warn at time of reservation if you show up late, you'll lose your own party time. Since I wasn't properly greeted, the hostess had to ask around to see if I was the parent of the bday girl. Her introduction to the kids was low energy and vague. They "did the girls hair" but only the two girls with soft hair. As for the girls with kinky hair, they got left out. We actually had to ask the hostess (as she moved on) to go back and do the girls hair who was hurt y being skipped (she also had locs in her hair which isn't "soft") At that point I became the host and had to hype the girls up as they danced on stage. There was no order to this at all. Once the host did come to the stage, again, dry. We got the party room for a whopping 30 mins and there was no music or anything. I had to provide that from my phone. Kids did the pink limo. The cd skipped and again, my phone to the rescue. I tipped the limo driver and my host directly. Then at check out learned the hostess receives gratuity. So I asked them to deduct what I handed her but they couldn't bc a lesser gratuity would decrease the managers gratuity as well as it's punched in the computer as a whole to be split evenly. At this point my hostess made out with extra cash while provided a really lame experience. I finally had to let the manager know how disappointed I was with the service. She admitted that the hair services for girls of color was grossly lacking and was considering opening her own variation of the operation that caters to ALL little girls who want to feel pretty for an evening. Then a week later the same manager called my phone to tell me "oops, I never charged you gratuity for the limo driver" I told her I paid him a cash tip as well! She told me he told her the same, but I still owed $12 I let her have it!!!! And told them not to charge my card another nickel. This is absurd!!! Eat that $12 loss or doc it from the limos next tip bc I definitely paid everything and THEN SOME. She hung up on me. The end. read more

We arrived to be told that the pizza would be a cash payment which wasn't told to us at first so we had to leave to go get money while our guest waited. 2. We were told plates would be provided but there were no plates so they started looking around and brought us 3 used plates that were sitting on someone else's table...disgusting 4. The manager on duty failed to even address the issues or talk to us about what was going on.. she refused to talk to us. 5. It was so hot and we asked for the air to be turned on or the heat to be turned down and still she didn't acknowledge us. 6. I came as a walk in with my three children, we were checked in up front by "Sirra" I made sure to make it clear that we did not have an appointment today. Two hours later Tayra comes up front and tells me they could not accommodate us because they were closing in a half hour. The concept of the place is absolutely adorable. However I'm A firm believer that a business that caters to children should have people that appear to live there job. My first complaint is the lack of consideration for my daughters party. I called twice placing emphasis on my daughters hair. As I wanted to make sure that someone would be comfortable doing her hair (biracial). Out of a party of 10 she was the only one who didn't get her hair out into a style. I brought my daughter in for a haircut. When booking, I selected the longest possible duration, noting my daughter has curly thick hair. When we arrived, we were greeted as if we were inconveniencing the people working there. The woman cutting my daughter's hair was SO SLOW, but I let it go because I figured she was new or nervous. Then when the cut was finally done, I was immediately notified by the women at the register that because we went over the time allotted, we had to pay extra. There was absolutely no recognition from the staff that the hair dresser was extremely slow, and clearly doing so in order to charge more money. had an appointment at 3pm. Waited in lobby because there were another party that took an additional 40 minutes. Finally, the kids were escorted back to a dressing room where they dressed up then makeups. When the makeups were finished, they did a little catwalk where they posted as princesses . Throughout the entire event, very little music were being played so it didnt feel like a party. During the little music played during the princess walk, the music was cut off twice which made the kids stop performing Due to the party started late but our pizza delivery on time. We were told the kids would do the limo ride next due to the drivers schedule so our foods sat there and got cold. Furthermore, we were told total of 16 people including few adults would fit in the limo but it didnt fit all. Some parents had to stay back while only 2 adults were able to ride which caused disappointments to parents because they were looking forward to that event. So while they went for the ride , we waited some more in lobby without chairs. When they returned, we were taken to the back room where the food was. This young hostess , who said she hasn't turned 21 during one of her small talks , was the only one that was working but she couldnt keep up with the servings , so we had to help. Pretty much all adults were standing up and holding their plates because there wasnt enough chairs or table to accommodate grown ups, which I feel was wrong. Furthermore, she failed to change gloves after wiping a spill on floor and contacted many none food items. At one point she had her hands holding together in back of pants. When I told her to please change gloves which she didnt do right away and proceeded to hand out forks. I believe she dont understand food contamination. The company should have trained her better in food sanitation. Lastly, we were rushed out of party room because another party was waiting in lobby. A different lady came in and closed the cake box and pretty much started to clean and put away foods without asking anyone whether they wanted more N I found that very rude. Finally, the lady threw everything on a cart and rolled out to lobby while people were still in room. I had to tell the lady to wait a second because I didnt feel comfortable leaving the cart unattended with a lobby full of people that I dont know. I took my daughter and her friends for a make over. I was very pleased with the service. The girls were great. They did such a good job. The employees have such great energy. My girls hugged their stylist and took pictures together. Her name was Melany I believe. I suggest going here if you have young girls. They even do ear piercing. So ... where do i start . We walked in and we're not greeted by absolutely anyone and the manger was there . the host were terrible ! They were very young girls with ZERO enthusiasm, they did not sound or Look excited to be there . We paid OVER $700 just for them to paint the girls nails and put eyeshadow on them , we purchased our own pizza and brought our cake that they had us take to eat in a plain room that looked like a utility closet. The hostesses had on tutus and most of them were ripped and not one staff memeber had a smile on there face the entire time . The only good part about the experience was the limo driver he was excellent and made sure the girls had a good time . So sad this new location is a money factory that has no customer service skills. The ownership should be embarrassed. They are severely understaffed having 1 employee in the building should be a safety concern. Not even a cashier?? Appts are missed by like 35-40 min, that's ridiculous. When it was finally my daughters turn the woman rushed through- barely did anything then continued asking if we were ok because she could tell her weren't. She did a subpar job most likely because she was alone and there was another family waiting. The phone rang several times no one could answer. I felt bad for the lone employee but she literally had no compassion or concern for time. People make appts for a reason. Some empathy would go a long way. Being 10-15 min behind is one thing but maybe you should leave some gaps in the schedule for catch up time? I showed her a picture, she seemed confident, then as she went through rushing she told me which PARTS she can't do because enough time wasn't booked and after I waited 35 min. It ended up extremely basic and my daughter and I were both hugely disappointed. This was a hairdo she had gotten multiple times at the previous ch hill location. I even said I would pay extra. My daughter was going to a special event and this was a terrible experience. Don't bother going here they build it up and it just isn't what's anticipated at all. My daughter received an updo worth $5 done in maybe 5 min. It was on par with what you would see at a bday party. This place will sink if they dont step it up. We were 10 minutes late for my granddaughter's hair appointment. My fault, since I took her to the old address on Haddonfield Road (I didn't realize it had moved). I called the new salon to let them know and was told that we were only 5 minutes away and it was fine. Due to traffic, we were 10 minutes late and were told that we had missed our window for service. First of all, there was NO ONE there. Secondly, I told the very unhelpful staff that we still had 15 minutes of our allotted time and that my granddaughter only wanted a trim on her ends. I was advised that a trim took just as long as a full haircut (really?). Now, with a crying 6-year-old on our hands, I found Fun Cuts 4 Kids in Merchantville, had her hair trimmed perfectly in less than 10 minutes (really), and paid about half of what I would have paid at Sweet & Sassy.
