(Zero Stars if I Could) I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this shop and felt compelled to share my thoughts. As a mechanic and former shop owner with over 20 years of experience, I went in seeking a simple tire mounting and balancing for a brand new Pirelli tire, having been referred by several friends. Upon arrival, I met Thomi, the owner, who was friendly but informed me her regular mechanic was unavailable. Instead, her husband, also a mechanic, would take care of it. I expressed that there was no rush, hoping to have it back by the weekend, and she assured me it would be no problem. Fast forward to Thursday when I called to check on the status, only to find out it wasn't done yet but would definitely be ready the next day. I received a call later that same day confirming it was finished, so I went to pick it up. I paid the $65 and carefully placed the wheel in my truck to avoid damage during transport. Upon arriving home and rolling it into my garage, I was horrified to find several scratches on the rim. I should have inspected it before leaving the shop, but they were closing, and I was eager to get back to riding. I reached out via text to Thomi's number but received no response. The next day, I returned to the shop. Thomi was busy with another customer, so I opted not to create a scene and instead made eye contact with her. She assured me she would make it right. However, the following day she called, claiming she was "1 million percent certain" she hadn't scratched the rim. This is especially disheartening considering it was the first tire on a 2023 bike with only 3,800 miles. After weeks of waiting and no communication, I called again and learned Thomi would be back the following Tuesday. That day came and went with no updates. Eventually, after another two weeks, she called to ask whether the rim was powder-coated or painted, which I had no way of knowing. Finally, after over six weeks of waiting, I got a call saying it was ready. I took my lunch to pick it up and inspected it this time, only to have Thomi deny any wrongdoing again and tell me not to bring anything back. Honestly, who would after such a dreadful experience? Beware of this shop. I would have gladly waited two weeks for a job well done instead of enduring this whole ordeal with an inexperienced person. Sorgys is a long ride out for me. I have had really bad service in Austin from other "mechanics" so I went there after it was recommended by several riders. I am now a big fan. Brian is a mechanics mechanic. I know because I am a mechanic by trade. i work on very complex robots. My bikes yes several of them now, have to be trusted to not fail at over 100 MPH. I was waiting to write this review until after I could check over the work they did. I couldn't be happier. I have taken my bikes there for inspection, tires, clutch work, a head gasket, lifters, carburetor issues (complex ones) and a variety of other repairs. Currently my 3rd bike is with them for a fork seal rear brake "drum on a shaft drive" and a mystery loss of spark. If you ride a motorcycle 4 wheeler ATV etc and you dont go here you sir are a fool. Worth the wait. I found Brian not only super knowledgeable but honest and that is refreshing. They worked with me on price and I am one hell of a picky and grumpy customer so BRAVO for getting it right. My previous experience with a Flash Motorbikes in Austin could have cost me my life the fork seal they fixed failed after their work they intoduced air into my hydraulic clutch and then when it was slipping all over the place told me I needed a new clutch... complete incompetence and at a high labor rate. I think that everyone at Flash is stoned......the front fender was barely on and the rear brake locked after a complete rebuild. That front fenders bolts were not even hand tight that mechanic said he got distracted by a phone call, it could have easily come loose and wedged causing a fatal crash......You want to die take your bike there and do like I did sit around and listen to them bad mouth their customers shame on Flash Motorbikes Needless to say I took that bike to Sorgys to fix all the problems I have no doubts I will be just as happy when I get this baby back too. But rest assured no one gets a free pass if there is any problem at all I will run it up the flag poll. I only call them like I see them, no less and no more. Sorgys has had me send them 3 riders so far and their card is in my wallet in case you mention you need motorcycle work done. I recommend them based on price, excellent customer service, but above all the quality of work. Good family business with good people and the work is above my standards. I will have another bike soon and I will trust Sorgys to check it out because at 100 or 120 or 140 plus MPH I never want to have that little thought of doubt in my mind that I could go down due to some wanna be mechanics inferior dangerous corner cutting its close enough mind set. F&^$K that..... P.S. the 1400 I got back from Brian has seen excessive speeds and when I roll on the throttle I am one confident bastard. You slow drivers out of the way. I am riding a hell of a horse built right at Sorgys... worth the ride out to have it done right!!!!!!!!!! even better they finished my 3rd bike on time and under budget, nice to have it dyno tested to its max. Sorgys is kinda my one-stop bike shop. They share a building with a guy named Brian that works on motorcycles, atv's and the like. This is the only person I will allow to touch my bike other than myself. (and he sure knows how to supe them up to your riding style, too. Like a bat out of hell.) Sorgys can get any part that any other shop can get and their prices are usually lower, plus its a mom and pops place - so it's real people. Last time I was there to get Brian to re-do my jets (went from long distance driving to city driving) someone brought some homemade fudge brownies for them and they gave me one while I looked around. Ended up buying a chrome belt cover and smoked lenses for my turn signals and brake light for less than Harley charges for the belt cover by itself. They do keep items in stock, and they sell motorcycles, ATV's and dirt-bikes, too. I noticed they weren't on Yelp, so I added them for the simple reason of: Biker's need to know about these guys - they beat every motorcycle shop in Austin. (Otherwise I wouldn't drive 20 miles to get tune ups that I can't do myself and pick up new chrome for my baby). All in all, 5 out of 5 stars for quality service, best pricing, being an all-in-one shop, and being cool people that are extremely knowledgeable about what they do - motorcycles. I had very bad experience a revs! I explained that I was on a limited budget I'm disabled veteran and they understood. My motorcycle was in bad shape but instead I'm going through the motor and transmission first they put new tires on it new axle new bearings on the wheels $1,700. First time I was told to come get it wouldn't go in gear needed a new transmission second time I came to get it didn't make it but one block needed regulator and stator third time I came to get it made it four blocks gas tank was dirty cockpit was told tank was clean but Rusty which I found out was never clean when I got it home and clean it myself full of dirt. Court time I came to get it and made it home, barely. Another mechanic is looked at it and I need main bearing cam bearing and motors the main bearing could have been replaced when they put in a new transmission but chose not to. So now I have a $1,500 motorcycle and I'm spent close to 5000 and probably will spend another thousand. I talked to the manager he pretty much accuse me of lying and denied the shotty unprofessional workmanship. I believe they should have reviewed the motorcycle and told me it would cost six or seven thousand to get it right and I wouldn't have invested but that wasn't the case the review. read more
