We wished to see the tour on premise by the owner but came on a Friday and they only hold tours on weekends, so be mindful of that if you are planning to see the tour. We were immediately greeted by staff and were welcomed to walk around and view their orchids. The staff were all very friendly and also treated us with complimentary iced lemonade. The orchids there were amazing. Even if you aren't into orchids, the variety and display of their orchids may get you to start. They also sell almost everything on display, from flowers, pots, fertilizer, statues, to figurines. I love how you can come and not spend a dime if you're on a budget, or go there to buy an orchid or whatever else. I would definitely come back again. read more

It's tricky to make purchases online especially without any representative picture of the actual plant you're getting in the mail. They mailed a neglected Renanthera with dead brittle roots, that's supposed to be awarded? Another potted orchid seemed neglected for a long time as well, overgrown with bent leaves, and without any tag! Definitely not worth the price you're paying for. read more

This is the best orchid nursery in Florida, hands down! They have hundreds of varieties of orchids to choose from, all of which area healthy and happy. They have excellent customer service. OMG!!! 10 stars if it was possible!!! This place is totally amazing. If you are an orchid lover or, even if you just like them a little bit, you HAVE to visit this place, it is AMAZING!!! This is Robert Fuchs home and palace and it's been in his family for many many years. They have any kind of orchid you can possible imagine and some other plants too but mostly orchids. They have tours at 11am and 3pm that takes you thru Roberts back yard and surroundings and it is breathtaking. We got there a bit past 11am a couple of wks ago and, since we didn't know about the tours until we were there, a very nice young man (so sorry I didn't get his name) took us around to catch up with Gene (he was marvelous) and his tour, which only had two other people. They graciously welcomed us and we continued on to the most amazing, beautiful, gorgeous, incredible back yard with it's black bottom pool, it's own water fall and pond with even a small live gator in it and all the magnificient plants and orchids. Gene was awesome giving us the history on the house and family, the info on most of the plants and happy to answer any questions. Then, after you're done with the tour, you walk into the nursery with it's hundreds of plants and you just wanna take them all! While walking in there, we came accross Michael, who is a designer and was making the most beautiful arrangements for a store (forgot the name) and is wonderful too. Chatting with us, giving us ideas and answering all our questions. If you don't want to buy plants you don't have to BUT you just HAVE to visit this place. It is soooooo relaxing and beautiful. Bring a picnic basket or a good book or both and just walk around, see the surroundings with its beauty and sit and enjoy it all. read more

I have been shopping at Fuchs since I attended the WOC 2008 in Miami. My husband and I go to Florida to shop for orchids late in January as the Ft. Lauderdale Show and the Tamiami Show occur at that time. We have always taken time to visit Fuchs. This year was very disappointing. The selections were sparce. I was told that they had a busy weekend and they have opened a new location which is in a private community so I could not see their offerings there. The staff was put off by my questions.I also told them that a Cattleya percevaliana alba that I purchased there 2 years ago bloomed purple this year for it's first bloom. I was told to take a photo next year and send it to them. So I have to wait another year to see what they will do about it. This was a first for Fuchs. Oh my goodness.... I found this place entirely by accident. My parents and I were driving around after lunch and I saw a sign advertising orchids for sale. Being an orchid fanatic, I begged them to follow the signs. I was expecting some sort of little yard sale style event set up in a park or something. Little did I know. I walked out of the car (parents were going to wait for me) and took only a few steps into the establishment, before turning around and waving my parents over. This was NOT going to be a quick visit. Their flowers and the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. Exotic birds, ponds, and a cute and very friendly kitty (not to mention the most beautiful orchids I've ever seen) make you feel as if you've walked into paradise. Upon walking into the store, we were instantly offered some fresh squeezed passion fruit-lime juice (so yummy!) and were given details about the place. Along with the flowers, they offer orchid-care workshops and free guided tours of the grounds. The people who work there are incredibly friendly and the prices are reasonable. WOW! I am an aspiring orchidist, have a bunch of different plants, was looking for a specific type of Orchid online a "cattleya" so did a Google search, first place came up was R&F Orchid farm, then I realized it was local, & I then did a Yelp search & read all the glowing reviews, I made a plan to go down to Homestead, purchase some orchids, then go for BBQ @ Shivers afterwards. Both were great 5 star experiences. I found 3 different species of Cattleyas & they are now quite happy on my balcony. Also was enchanted by the grounds & the bird friends. If you want Orchids of any kind, don't consider any other place, we have the best in the United States right here in our backyard!! One tip is don't even try to find this place without OnStar or some kind of GPS. Turned mine on before going & after many twists & turns said to myself, sheesh would've taken me forever to get here without electronic navigation. read more

The landscaping on the grounds alone are worth the visit so that you can get ideas on how to place orchids and other naturally occurring plants together. They even brought us lemonade when we arrived. Some of the ones outside were hard to get info out of like when we were looking for a price on one orchid way in the back. The place was beautiful and the variety of plants available was surprising. It was quiet that early Saturday morning we were there so it was easy to park and explore the property to pick out what we wanted; you can find something at pretty much any price range. This place is really cool with so many varieties of beautiful orchids I couldn't believe it. They had types I had never seen before and so many different colors. The grounds are nice to walk around and there is a tiki up front. I really enjoyed my visit there. They were very nice and offered me some homemade lemonade. Stay away from this place. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I had a very bad experience with one of the employees there today because I was only spending under $100 and I was taking too long to decide on a vase for an orchid. I walked out and went down to A Heavenly Garden on 219 and Krome. Much better selection and prices. And their customer service was outstanding. I even spoke to Bill, the owner. Went to the orchid show at this place and fell in love with it. So beautifully showcased. Went on the house tour at 3 and it was wonderful. The guide was the grandson and he shared with us interesting information about the grounds We saw the pool, two houses, ponds and were treated a drink with a scorpion in it- such gracious hospitality. We spent the entire afternoon there and enjoyed every minute of it. read more

This place is amazing. Wonderful selection of exotic orchids. Love the young orchids for $5 - will enjoy caring for and watching them grow and their first blooms. Staff was unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable. We were in the area and called. They were closed that day but the nice young man told us to stop by and call once out front. Best place in South FL to buy Orchids and other tropical plants. We're from Atlanta, but stop in every time we're in South Florida. Just picked up a Vanilla and a few other plants last weekend. What a great place to visit! I've never seen such a variety and I've lived in Hawaii. This is a beautiful collection. We bought one 6 in white phaelenopsis and you don't see how large and beautiful they are until you start looking at the orchids that they sell at Home Depot, Whole Foods, or any other more readily available places to buy orchids. We are going to see how successful we are with this one plant. I'd like to landscape our home inside and out if we are successful with this one plant. It was just nice to walk through the garden. The staff is very helpful and the owner even says hi to everyone. There wasn't a tour on the weekday, just the weekends so call if you want to take the tour just to confirm it is available. I don't know how this place would compare to some of the other orchid farms that we passed while getting to this place but next time we go we might stop at a few others just for comparison purposes. read more
