I recently attended "Sounds of a New Nation," which involved such a thoughtful program celebrating the founding of this country. It included Schuman's "New England Triptych," Ives' "New England Holiday" and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 9, a work composed the same year the U.S. declared independence. And Abrams seemed so excited to bring this to life. His joy is infectious! Most recently, we brought our kids to see the "OrKIDStra" program -- their first orchestra experience. They loved it! Next we're excited to see "Rhapsody in Blue." Other points of pride: * The LO became the first orchestra to create its own record label, First Edition Records. * It was one of the only orchestras to stay active during COVID by pioneering safe in-person and virtual performances. * It won its first-ever Grammy Award in February 2024 for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. * In 2023, the LO performed a historic, world-premiere concert inside Mammoth Cave National Park featuring world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. There's nothing like seeing beautiful, thoughtful music performed live, and the Louisville Orchestra is among the best.

America Place At River Ridge is such good sponsors for this free event holding "Play America " Bringing classical and popular music with family fun (food trucks, activities) across the river to Southern Indiana, showcasing their commitment to making music accessible beyond the main concert hall. The event is well run and very organized with parking and traffic flow. They provide some much needed bit of classical music. The organizers do a great job pulling this together. If you get the chance in July to attend take advantage.

Now let me say, This Is Not Your Typical Karaoke. You perform with a live band and they are talented! So if you sing or not come check it out. Many venues to choose from, Jeffersonville River Stage; (by the way it's tonight) or Iroquois amphitheater and Wick's pizza at Goose Creek or New Albany In. Check the link for dates and times. By the way Iroquois amphitheater and Wicks and Iroquois- has tap brews with a semi full bar, plus Cheeser's food truck. All venues I've attended have clean facilities especially Iroquois Amphitheater. Kentucky of parking lots except The River Stage is mostly street. I will attend again. You can sign up ; on line or there is a kiosk. Side note; Iroquois had a few under 21 singers but none seen at Wick's. That's not a problem for me because everyone should have an opportunity to join in. I must say I will be performing tonight (just a little plug for myself from 7 till 8 as a warm up for the main show). It all started off as trying to offer something new with crowd engagement for our employees to cut loose. Once we reached out to FCK, we received nothing but hospitality. All of the band members are genuinely great people, and they encouraged everyone to participate. You don't have to be a good singer to get up and sing with FCK. They will help you through the entire thing, and the concept behind this is amazing! Our CEO was very impressed with the band, and how engaging they were with our employees. 1,000/10 all around! The concert was very long doors opened at 6 PM the show started at seven and the final performer got off stage 1 AM. So it was a very long night but a great time overall with many different acts and performers. I can not say enough about the entire SUP staff we worked with for our annual sales event in…read moreLouisville. Chris was SO SO SO informed about what specific equipment we should use based on the event we were having. He went above and beyond to make sure it looked as professional as he knew we wanted it to look (even having another employee bring additional lighting last min for us). He was super easy to talk to and work with. We were a small group of 150 guests (in comparison to what I know they do) and they made us feel like the #1 priority the entire time. We paid to have them sit through the round table run through in addition to the tech rehearsal and it was something we will do moving forward because it allowed him to get a better idea of our vision. We used SUP for all sound / music and some lighting. My only regret is that we did not use them for EVERYTHING as the hotel we worked with had enormous fees for outside vendors. You will NOT regret hiring them for your next event - big or small!
