Gorgeous cupcakes! But that's it. The cupcakes were stale yet me and 4 other people ate them anyway. 2 hours later everyone had intense stomach cramping followed by vomiting. In addition to getting food poisoning the customer service was subpar and that's generous. 2 of 3 employees stood there texting when my family and I walked in, no one greeted us or offered any information as to their selections. I asked what their best seller was and the one who wasn't texting mumbled something about Nutty Professor and that's all I got. We were all trying to lean forward to better understand him and after letting him know I was having a little trouble hearing he said sorry and continued to mumble. We found this place as my brother loves cupcakes and they had a sign that was winner of cupcake wars and has the owners place all over. Cupcakes had a good selection of them. I do not know the prices, but I am sure they were pricey. The cupcake itself was good, but a lot of sugary even for me. Stumbled upon this gem last night and anytime we see "Cupcake Wars" we need to stop. Got there :20 minutes after opening. We asked for the most popular, the one that "put you on the map" and unfortunately......they were out of stock. Bruh, how you going to be out of the bangers. The customer service provided was less than to be desired. The person that was helping us wanted nothing more than for us (my mom and I) to leave the store. She seemed annoyed that we did not know what we wanted even though there was nobody else in the shop- we were not holding up a line or anything. We felt rushed. All of her non verbals were negative. When I went in for the second time to ask for napkins, she was on her phone so I guess that was more important for her. This seems to be a continued problem with this establishment that they are not interested in addressing; an almost snobby and " we are too good to serve you" attitude. The cupcakes were dry and the frosting was crunchy stale because of the overuse of confectioners sugar. Would not try again, have had better at home and through other local bakeries. read more

I ordered some mini cupcakes for my sister's baby shower. I was rushing to pick up the cupcakes as I was in a hurry. After I left about 3 minutes being on the road to the baby shower venue I got a call from RGV cupcakes. They let me know that they had accidentally given me 10 less mini cupcakes then I had ordered. The employee offered to give me my money back or 10 large cupcakes delivered to my event! Needless to say, I chose for them to deliver the 10 large cupcakes. They came immediately. Their customer service is 10/10. I am so impressed by this company and will continue to use them for future events. Everyone raved about the delicious cupcakes! I had high hopes for this bakery! The cupcakes look gorgeous and sound fantastic. So I purchased two. The chocolate buttercream frosting was spot on! It was exactly what I was looking for, the right balance of sweet and creaminess! The cake however was dry. It tasted like it was much more then a day old, like possibly a week old! I went on a Tuesday around noon. So it was probably left over from the weekend??? Maybe a Friday visit will yield a better tasting cupcake? Maybe on the weekend they will have more to offer as well. I live in Houston so I've only been here a couple of times. Back when they first opened and again just this past weekend. Both times I was very satisfied with the quality and superb taste of the cupcakes. So much so, that I bought a dozen to bring back to Houston with me. I am NOT a cupcake snob, but I know a good tasting cupcake when I eat it. The young lady behind the counter was extremely courteous. She patiently went over the different ingredients that made up each "celebrity" cupcake. Plus she labeled them for me, so I would know which was which. The cupcakes were delicious, the icing was sweet without being super sugary. The cake itself was baked to perfection. Much better than "Crave" or "Sprinkles" here in Houston. I purchased 2 cupcakes for $5.50. The person at the counter was very friendly and courteous. I walked out with a small box holding my 2 cupcakes thinking "these better be at the very least edible." I almost forgot about my cupcakes until after dinner. I have to say I was very impressed. I haven't had such a yummy cake in a very long time. The frosting was just the right amount of sweet. Last week I ordered 25 cupcakes for a baby shower. We discussed the design which should be a pastel pink elephant with a leopard bow made out of fondant. The total came out to 80 something dollars. I would pay half now and the rest when I picked up the cupcakes. When I went to pick up my order the day of. The design was nothing like I wanted. It look like just a circle of fondant with a picture of the elephant. Well why would I give this place four stars then if they messed up my order? Because of their AMAZING customer service.
