Here it is April 25, a month after I had Rhino's do some hauling work for me. (You can see my review below.) Today I hired them again to do a massive demolition and cleanup job. 10 men demolished and hauled away the contents of my basement and garage. 2 1/2 dump truck loads to landfill, 1 smaller truckload to donation. They took out a 13-battery 2000-pound industrial UPS (APC Symmetra RM) and cut up the cabinet that had housed it. They dismantled and hauled away workbenches and a lot of steel shelving. They carried hundreds of boxes and heavy doodads up the stairs. They cleaned up after a previous contractor who had worked on some things and left a mess. Just when they thought they were almost done, I remembered a big pile of bicycles and paint cans and old toys behind the garage. They grabbed all that so fast I couldn't believe it. And then they swept and mopped and tidied, and were gone. I dearly hope that I never again have a demolition and cleanup task as large as this, but if I do, I'll call Rhino again. ---------------------------------------------------------- Last month's review: I first used Rhino's Hauling some years ago, when they were just getting started. They did a wonderful job, and the owner himself was one of the workers. I gave them a good review here on Yelp. It's now 2019, and Rhino's Hauling has become Rhino's Demolition and Landscapes. The business has expanded; there are more people. They sent four men to handle my junk-hauling job. When I called them to schedule this, I wondered if, as the company matured and grew, and the owner's role changed from team leader to manager, if the quality of service could remain high. Short answer: yes. The crew who did the work for me were every bit as fast, professional, polite, and meticulous as Mr Carroll himself was back when he was one of the crew. They cleaned up my junk in record time, swept it clean, sorted out things that should be donated and not sent to landfill, and drove off into the sunset. Well, not really sunset, because it's 2pm as I write this, but you know what I mean. I'm always a little reluctant to write good reviews of service businesses that I like because I worry that it will create a longer wait for me the next time I call them. I first discovered Rhino's six years ago and have been a fan ever since. Rian and his crew are not only professional, but very accommodating and genuinely appreciative of their customers. I had the need to use their services again yesterday, and once again I was completely satisfied. The crew arrived on time and equipped to do the job. We had a dilapidated shed that needed be removed. The shed was vintage DIY, the back 'wall' of the shed was actually our neighbor's fence, which we hoped would remain standing after the demo. It was also quite close to rose bushes and mature foliage which we also wanted to preserve. Rian gave us a very reasonable quote based on photos. Asi and the crew (6 total) arrived promptly at 8am, it took about an hour. They capped the power to the shed, dismantled it and thoroughly swept the area. The neighbor's fence and our garden were not damaged. We kept the slab for the new shed but now that the back garden has so much more light might just leave it for planters, or as a place for the grill. Nice to have that project behind us! read more

It turned out to be a much tougher job, but they have been great about every aspect. Zero complaints from me - only compliments! Unfortunately, we have had to downgrade our original review of 5 stars. These "good guys," as they call themselves, basically took us for a ride. They were supposed to remove an old leaking pond from our back yard and back fill it with "soil." I am not even going to say how much we paid because it is now embarrassingly painful. The work took place over a year ago so we only discovered that we were wronged because we started digging up the yard in order to lay a new path and plant flowers. We discovered tons of debris that was simply buried to hide it, and tons of cement still in place that was supposed to be completely removed or at least "shaved" down to 10" BELOW THE SURFACE - enough for planting. Then, to make matters worse, we realized that just below the surface (1-3"), they dumped tons of sand instead of soil, like they promised. Not even "good ol' dirt." Just sand. When I contacted the owner, he immediately went on the offensive and started trying to list things they did do and what was verbally agreed on. Pointing out that I told him we were only going to use the yard to plant flowers or a lawn. Whatever we decide to do with our property when he's done is no one's business. We should be able to do whatever we decide to do, whether we change our minds or not. Either way, it should have been cleared enough to use without feeling like we were digging through a land fill. Rian is basically shirking any responsibility at all. Instead of making certain we remained happy customers by taking care of business. He just did whatever he wanted behind our backs, took our money, and slipped out as quickly as possible. And now refuses to acknowledge our concerns. I am certain that he will even be so bold as to answer this with more of his unapologetic bull, just like a two-bit bully. And that's part of the problem. He doesn't even care to make it right - at any level. So this is a big warning to people who do not want to get screwed and end up chasing these people later for money back or getting a job actually completed correctly. These guys are underhanded and money-motivated only! They will do the least they can for the most they can get. And they'll do it all to your face, with a smile and a handshake. read more

I called Ryan on a referral from another hauler here Yelp. I called in the 4th of July needing a pick up that day or the 5th before 10 am. at 2 different houses in the same city. Ryan's guy, Manny, arrived promptly, did both jobs, was super courteous, he double confirmed what stayed and what I wanted thrown. I had to leave before he was finished. I paid $250 and felt that was quite reasonable, considering I asked them to pick up trash at 2 locations. I was VERY happy to return home to see the job done, with no left-over cleanup to do. Ryan even called me to check to see that I was satisfied with the service. As I am unpacking from a move, I know I will have a lot more stuff to get rid of. Rhino will indeed get my business again! It would be great if they took credit cards, but service was so good, I can't even deduct points for that. I paid by check. read more

Rian and Asi and their crew did an amazing job on our yard. We had a ton of rocks, an old cement pathway, a rusty fire-pit and vegetation all over. There was also an ugly old chain-link fence running across the yard. Rhino Hauling came in while we were on vacation, cleared the whole lot and leveled it out. As they worked, they found more layers of crap to deal with. They did not try to gouge us or re-negotiate the contract, they worked through it. They also buried a pole in the back for us and cemented it in nicely. When we came back from vacation, they came back and wet-sawed the edge of the old concrete foundation for us giving us a nice clean entry into the yard. Everything happened so quick and tidy, it was like they hadn't even been there. I highly recommend these guys. If we ever have more similar work to do, we will hire them back. Even though they were busy and had full trucks they still managed to accommodate me and treat me like a long time customer even though it was my first call! The job was to demolish a large storage shed with an upper deck, a staircase, and a roof. The structure was rotten and filled with rat droppings. We met with Rian from Rhino's Hauling & Demolition to get an estimate. We wanted to get rid of an old fence, shed, cracked and uneven cement tiles, an old retaining wall, and to move the retaining wall back about 4.5 feet which require moving lots of dirt, a big rock, and grinding down and removing a tree stump. We got a fair price and proceeded to have the work done. Rian was very professional. He always answered our phone calls and was prompt. His crew worked their asses off to complete the job. I was in a Huge Predicament, and had a family emergency late in the day. I needed to have some furniture broken down and removed so that my grandmother could have medical equipment delivered through Hospice.
