We had Xpress do our kitchen remodel back in 2019, and after living with it for many years now, I feel like I can give a fair long-term review. Compared to a lot of contractors today, they actually did a pretty dang good job. The cabinets have held up really, really well, which alone says a lot after years of daily use. The plumbing has been fine, nothing is falling apart, and overall the work has held up. They really did try to make me happy throughout the process. I had quite a few small, nit picky complaints, and they were about as patient as they could be and tried to work with me instead of brushing things off. The one area I wasn't thrilled with then (and still am not entirely pleased with) was some of the electrical work. It felt like there were a number of shortcuts taken there. The project manager (at the time) was a gem - super sweet & on top of things. The kitchen was completed when they said it would be, despite setbacks. Looking back and comparing our experience to what we and friends deal with from contractors today, I felt it was worth coming here to say that the work Xpress did stood the test of time and because of that, we would consider them again for future projects. read more

Majid and his multiple crews are super nice and competent! I've recently had them remodel my bathroom and have also helped multiple friends who worked with them for their home remodels. They're very open to coming up with creative solutions when the standard home has awkward issues that cause restrictions. Often their salesperson talks you out of doing things that could be costly which can save you money but if you really want something be firm and they will do their best to accommodate even if it means ordering outside of their regular catalogs or preferred vendors. They're really helpful for all the planning and once they come in to work on your project, the demo is SO FAST and they clean it all up so fast! They work on a tight schedule so things happen fast. Often the project is done before their projected time. Such a relief! It helps to be nearby so you can answer unanticipated questions that inevitably come up with all construction projects. Out of the five/six contractors that I had consultations with, Xpress had the most reasonable price and shortest timeline. What set Xpress apart from the others is that they have dedicated teams who work on your project, so you are not wasting time waiting around for staff to have time to work on your project. We were given an estimate of 10-12 weeks and Xpress finished within that timeframe. Their one-stop shop model where you can choose materials and finishes while consulting sample bathrooms and kitchens in their showroom is also very convenient. Having the option, but not the obligation, to search for different tiles or other materials on your own (they allow substitutions) is great for first-time remodelers. Steve, who shepherds you through the initial planning and materials selections, is superb and great at his craft. He was extremely patient as we agonized over which colors to choose and politely accommodated our requests. His honestly and helpfulness in assessing what you need for your project will save you a lot of time and agony as you navigate the first stages of the remodeling. Majid, the demolition, tile, and other onsite staff, are efficient and very responsive to any concerns you raise. Their promptness on correcting errors or adjusting to contingencies makes them great partners. I knew one day we would have to renovate our kitchen but having heard so many horror stories about contractors I was not looking forward to that day. After our 1980s oven died and our equally old stove died we used a portable induction plate for a year. We decided it's probably time to get the kitchen renovated. I looked at alot of reviews and I chose Xpress cause they were local and their reviews were really good. Some people were critical but overall all good. I think the fact they only do complete renovations of kitchens and baths is one of the reasons why they're so good at hitting timelines. They know exactly how much time a project takes and that's taking into account problems. Xpress hit their deadlines with our renovation and never did I feel they were wasting time or not working. Everyday was a busy priority based workday. Steve was the salesman and preparation lead and he is excellent at that job. We put him through the ringer with our ideas about what we wanted, what we didn't want, can we compare multitude of blacksplashes and can we see this color next to this color. Every request was granted. We went with him in person to the place in the East Bay to choose actual countertops and that was extremely comforting to see and feel exactly what we were getting. Demolition day was chaotic but that's because your kitchen is literally getting torn apart. But it was done. In one day. I was shocked. From electric work to cabinetry to alignment of backsplashes and wood finishes, everything was perfect. There were a variety of different workers coming through our home but they were all assigned specific tasks and they came in a very scheduled flow. All of the workers were nice, hardworking, and respectful of our home and comfort level. Workers typically came at 7:30am, 8am. After our kitchen renovation was done we lived in it for 3 weeks and tracked things that were problematic. It was a very short list. We emailed that list to Xpress on a Wed, they came on a Friday to fix everything. Now everything is perfect. If you are needing a complete kitchen renovation, choose Xpress. The only issue you're going to run into is scheduling. They are busy. We signed the contract with them in February. The earliest they could schedule us was December. They are that popular and now that we've had them work on our home we totally understand why. They are qualified, they are knowledgable, they are pro-active on all issues, and they try to make the process as painless as possible. The cost was competitive with other contractors in the area. Not super cheap and not super expensive. The project manager Kevin was great. Always reachable by email and phone. We're in the process of remodeling our kitchen and adding rooms to our home. Based on great Yelp reviews, we visited Xpress Kitchen and met with Steve. Steve is very knowledgeable about various products, extremely candid about pros and cons, and one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He offered to visit our home to take measurements and make recommendations. Shortly after that visit he sent us some really helpful 3D renderings of the kitchen. We were so impressed with Steve, we scheduled a follow up visit at his store. As with our previous visit, Steve was a wealth of knowledge and very balanced in his perspective on the pros and cons of different products. His store carries really nice looking products from countertops to cabinets to flooring and his company can do just about any home construction or remodeling project. The one challenge we faced was the limited assortment of cabinet door designs and finishes. For what we're seeking, we couldn't find quite the right design. Given our impressions of Steve and the nice examples of their work, Xpress may not work out for our kitchen remodel, but remains top of mind for us for future home improvement projects. read more

I cannot recommend Xpress Kitchen and Bath highly enough. We wanted to remodel our bathroom before the birth of our baby. After wasting about 3 months with another company, we had approximately 6 weeks from end-to-end for the job. I found Xpress Kitchen on Yelp, and somehow they managed to squeeze us in. This was not a small job. We needed to move walls and windows, and significantly change plumbing. We also wanted a lot of custom components (e.g., a marble countertop from a slab we handpicked). The team executed to perfection. Steve provided invaluable guidance on design and materials, helping us figure out what to prioritize and where we could save time/money without sacrificing the quality or aesthetic of our ideal bathroom. When it was time for the installation, the team worked tirelessly (showing up early on Saturdays) to make sure that we stayed on schedule - and, in fact, they were consistently AHEAD of schedule. Majid and Omar did a fantastic job guiding the project to completion. As with any major remodel, lots of small decisions needed to be made along the way, and they communicated efficiently with us to ensure that every detail was decided quickly and to our liking. The bathroom was done 9 days before baby arrived, and we could not be happier with the final outcome. Every time we walk into the space, we smile. As has been said before, Xpress is true to its name. Our beautiful new bathroom was done incredibly quickly but with great quality and attention to detail. We picked these folks from among three 5-star Yelp contractors and we're very glad we did. (Their prices were a good bit lower, too.) The crew is unfailingly helpful, honest and really cares about clients' needs and wants clients to love the end product. Majid (the owner) has a savvy business model. They only do kitchens and baths, don't do low-end projects or partial remodels and one of the biggest departures from the other guys is that they have a package price rather than forcing clients to select, buy, store and deliver their own flooring, fixtures, cabinets, etc., as is usually the case. Xpress has a "showroom" with lots of options in all these area. But if you want to use, say, a different tub or tile, no problem. They'll include a rebate in their estimate and procure your selected item for you. I've been recommending them to everyone I know who's considering a remodel, which says it all. read more
