I've loved Riah every time that I've gone, and I've been for manicures, pedicures, hair stylings, and cuts. The experience is different with each employee, but I've never had bad service. All of the women working there are friendly and do their best to meet your expectations. It's probably the closest to "high-end" of all the hair salons in Morganton (and therefore probably the priciest, but that hasn't been enough to keep me from returning). It's great for getting groups ready for weddings, parties, etc. Appointments aren't completely necessary, but definitely recommended. read more

I can not praise this salon highly enough! Kacie (my stylist) gave me an in-depth consultation, which ensured I got exactly the cut/color I wanted. I found the salon nice and clean. A bit pricey for adequate work. The receptionist was pleasant and accommodating but the hairdresser who gave me a highlight, damaged one leg of pants with the bleach that she slung off the brush. By the time I saw the bleach it had ruined my pants. She apologized and offered to run across town to buy another pair. I found this very odd and told her I did not get them from any Morganton store. I thought she would at least take the price of the pants off the cost of the highlight and cut. But she took nothing off the cost and the price was more than originally quoted. Needless to say I was very upset and decided it was better to call back when I was not so upset. I did call back and left a message. They have not as yet returned my call. read more

This salon advertises that they perform Japanese straightening, but hair was left curly after spending $500.00. They do not give refunds, but of course do not warn their customers about this. They also get very nasty when confronted about their inadequate service. I had called on two different days, but received no return call, then went into the "salon" and actually waited for a customer to leave before speaking to the person who performed the service, not wanting to embarrass the her in front of the other customer. The person who performed (or didn't perform, as the case may be) the straightening said she could understand why I wanted a refund, but it was not up to her. The store manager told me to "have a blessed day" after asking me to leave the premises with no refund, not even a partial refund. Is there a rating lower than one star? One star is actually a compliment for this place. read more
