While I was running errands in Gallatin, I figured I would grab lunch and a local Mexican spot always hits the spot. I pulled up Yelp (of course!) and noticed that Ricardo's had solid reviews and was less than a mile away, so off I went. Ricardo's sits in the middle of a good size plaza that sits across from Wal-Mart and features retail, office space and other eateries. Parking is plentiful give the plaza, so no issues from the outside. Walking in, the vestibule features a cool neon sign that says "Live everyday like it's taco Tuesday", which was pretty cool and set the vibe, so I thought. I walked in and the Associate behind the register was face down in his phone, and after a few moments of me awkwardly standing there, he finally looked up and led me to a booth. Once sat, the waitress was very quick to greet me. She was friendly and helpful when needed. I started my meal with a bean dip, which only comes in one size, large. It was a bit much for just one person and honestly would be for two. I am not one to complain about "too much" food, but with this, I definitely suggest they offer a small version, as they do with queso. In follow up for my meal I went with the lunch Arroz con Queso with Chicken. After 15 minutes, my waitress comes by to ask how everything is and noticed I had not gotten my food yet. She apologizes and runs to the kitchen and returns with my plate. I could tell by her reaction and the luke warm temperature of the food that it had been ready and waiting back there for a few minutes. In addition to the temp, I was a tad surprised at the service size of the dish. I get it was off the lunch menu, but it was still priced over $10, and it was honestly the size of what you expect from a children's portion. Which is funny given my previous comment on the bean dip portion. All in all, the food was okay. It is your standard locally owned Mexican restaurant fare. Lunch ran me around $20 in total. Overall, Ricardo's was just okay in all facets from service to food to price. I do not find myself in Gallatin often, but when I do, I cannot see myself going out of my way to swing back by Ricardo's. read more

The waitress was incredibly friendly and if she didn't know something, she made sure to ask. The food was delicious, although I couldn't have the guacamole because it contained milk. Maybe next time I'll request just avocados. Surprisingly, even the rice had milk in it. I'm not sure why. My in-laws really enjoyed their meals. They had steak and fish. I just wish there were more vegan choices so I could join them more frequently. The restaurant has a charming decor and it's always clean. The parking is convenient, especially for those who have trouble walking with its low curbs. Oh and they have outside seating too. read more

When the restaurant changed owners, we were told the cook took over. We assumed this would be a good thing. It wasn't. Food quality on decline, and a 'new menu'...which is mostly the same menu with a TWO DOLLAR price hike on every meal! Will not be returning. We were left stranded on New Year's Eve after the other restaurant we ordered catering from closed unexpectedly. I made a quick phone call to Ricardo's and they were not only willing to help, they went above and beyond and had a catering order for 25 people within 30 minutes!! The food was plentiful and delicious and the employees were incredibly kind and helpful. I'd definitely recommend them for anyone looking for catering and we will be back time and again! read more

We had high expectations but left disappointed. It's not terrible. Here's where we felt let down: the tacos were too greasy. My son ordered three and could only scarf down two and the second one was a chore. I had a chicken fajita taco salad. No complaints on the ingredients quality but the expected dry ingredients left a soggy mess in the bowl and the portion was half what I expected. Not an overly joyous experience. I gave them 3 stars because the good was pretty good but disappointment was real. Try them, judge for yourself. We won't be going back. Wish them best in getting this corrected. My husband and I ordered takeout, I was craving Mexican chicken soup, so I was excited to try theirs. It's listed that it includes chicken, avocado, pico and rice. I pretty much received corn in a bland chicken broth where a couple of tiny shreds of chicken decided to show up and leave a tiny bit behind before jumping out. It was the smallest amount of chicken you could imagine. It had two slices of avocado, no rice, and maybe a teaspoon of pico for a large $12.59 soup. My husband got enchiladas and he said they were okay, so I'll give two stars for that, but pretty disappointed in general for a very highly rated restaurant. Don't bother with the soup. read more

Great Mexican food with good prices and large portions. Outdoor seating area as well, we brought our dog on the 2nd visit. Will be back.

Incredible delicious great staff. Ricardo is the owner and is such an great host as you enter the doors and thru out your visit. Definitely coming back! read more
